Ive thought this for years about Benfica Porto scouts. Now I know they sign a lot of players each year some strike gold most dont , but when they hit the jackpot the players are great.Mostly South Americans , not sure how many non EU players clubs in Portugal can sign each year ,so it may not work the same.

It's a little different when it comes to them developing the players and giving them room to grow too though. They can comfortably start 2-3 of these newly signed youngsters from South America and still easily win 99% of their games in Portugal. I accept the fact that we can't do that, but how the hell are we unable to get a single player from there in years now is beyond me. We either don't have any scouts like you said, or we are simply paying them for nothing! (something that is not weird in this modern Milan as many people get paid to do nothing)
Mammana is the real deal at River. I've watched this player for the past couple of years and he's got great potential. He would be a great partner for Romagnoli as well because he is explosive and quick, on top of being good on the ball. But hey.....this is Galliani's Milan! He doesn't look for players outside of Genoa. He'll probably sign Vangioni because we've been linked to him for years now. I doubt anyone has ever seen him play in the last couple of years. They just know him back from the Braida days (who himself said that Vangioni is a good player, but not Milan material). I used to think comments like the ones I made are ridiculous and how can anyone say something like that about a team as big as Milan that has the professional infrastructure that they do. But I am here now making the same statements. Galliani shells out millions without really scouting these players. There is no other answer to this circus. Just look at the way we signed Kucka! Galliani saw him play against us and liked him and Preziosi knew that....so when he was about to sell Kucka he called Galliani and told him that he is about to accept an offer for him, do you want him! Preziosi himself said this in September! Who the fuk runs a company this way! Who makes millions of Euros in investents in this way. It's a goddamn circus.....

Actually, Preciozi is our president ...
It's good to have a team like Genoa where we can send some of our players (but sometimes I really don't get it), and it's also good to have a team like that where, if needed, we know we can buy their best players and they will sell them to us before the other clubs.
But it's a bit too much ... We could have Perotti soon ...

Business is business at the end....and you have to pay the market price. If another team is willing to offer so much more money, than Genoa will sell to them. The only way not to, is through some "creative" accounting although if the difference is too big that won't help either. And by the way, there HAS to be some creative accounting going on when it comes to Milan-Genoa deals. Not saying illegal....just "creative".

Our main issue as far as getting the right players is that this management lacks the ability to actually negotiate transfer deals these days. If you look carefully, there are only three types of players that we sign these days: free agents, players from our friendly clubs like Genoa or players that belong to our friendly agents like Raiola. Of all the players we signed in the last few seasons, almost all of them belong to those three groups, with a couple of minor exceptions. This is an important trend because it's a reflection of why we do business the way we do them.
The influx of money into soccer in the last decade or so changed the landscape completely. These days, it takes a lot of hard work to identify, find, recruit, sign and develop players, even young players. Even small teams these days understand that by keeping their talented young players around a few years longer, they can realize a much bigger gain than selling them while they are too young. Given the limited supply and the growing number of teams with big time wallet, competition for good players are absolutely fierce. Even teams who have big wallets often miss out on their targets, look at Man Utd for example. Galliani used to be able to walk into negotiations with smaller teams like he is the king and they are his servants, but he no longer has that leverage. Nowadays, he has to work hard to get any negotiations done. Instead of adapting to the changing environment, Galliani, of course, decided to take the easy and lazy way out every time. Free agents are easy because you don't deal with their clubs any more; Genoa players are easy because Preziosi probably shares the same hookers with Berlu; Raiola players are easy because Raiola will basically do all the negotiating for us.
My personal feeling about things is, I am ok with bad, but I am not ok with lack of effort. It's not a crime to say that you are not good at something, but if you are not even trying, then that's just unacceptable. Milan management, at this point, are not even trying. Galliani is one of the only GMs in sports (that I have heard of) who take vacations right before or during the transfer season, when he is supposed to be at his busiest. And the way he manage everything is just damned lazy. This management shows as little hustle and dedication as the lousy players they bring in. And that is why we will never be able to turn this thing around. If Berlu can tolerate spending 100M a year and getting no results, I suppose this is all ok then.

I'm assuming Silvio's cut off all investment until there's some resolution with Bee. Everyone knows the reason he spent in the summer was with the assumption that the Bee deal would be finalised and investment would come in, but things haven't materialised that way.
I would also guess that's why Galliani isn't currently acting on anything. That, and the fact that everything he set up to sell players has pretty much backfired on him.
This management needs to go. Silvio and Galliani both need to go, their puppets in the club need to go. Barbara and anyone else named Berlusconi in the club should probably go as well, just to get rid of the rot of the Berlusconis. I'm tired of the damage and the hope shown last summer has faded quickly, as it's evident that the only hope of any sort of return to the top is hinged on an external investment. Even then, it's dubious how wisely the money will be spent, especially given Galliani's track record over the past decade or so.
The club needs fresh blood, people who come in with fresh ideas and a clear vision on how the club needs to rebuild. Right now, we're stuck with signings like Vangioni.

We should hope Silvio becomes senile and Barbara gets all his money and decides to spend it all in the club ... Because the Bee joke won't happen.
We should really look at what was done in Juventus and try to copy that (rebuilding the club, mercato).
