Thinking the same... So far so good but it's early days yet... and we're kind of stuck... if he does well but not amazing, we don't want him, if he does amazing, Barcelona will probably jump in and sign him because of the buy back clause... Everton would probably prefer to sell to us but would have to inform them first of any offer...

Best bet, if he becomes a player we want, would be to make an offer and try wrap up the deal early April before Barcelona think too much about it
The best way to go about it is to negotiate with Barcelona and screw Everton. Barcelona will surely go for it. After all, business is business and they would rather make a quick 4-5mil than let Everton make 15+.

What I mean is....Barcelona has a clause to buy him back for 8.5mil. Everton wanted 18mil from Milan. If Milan is ready and willing to pay Everton to keep the player, why would Barcelona just stand around and do nothing. It is in their interest to negotiate with Milan and say, "hey, we see you want the player.....we will buy him for 8.5mil, and sell him to you for 13.5mil. That way, we make a quick 5mil out of nowhere, and you save 5mil because Everton wanted 18 initially...even though we knew that you had no intention of paying that 18 and were going to try and negotiate it down". Even Everton is not completely empty handed as they stand to take 8.5mil from Barcelona.

But as you guys say, first and foremost we have to see if we even want the player. It is way too early to say if we should try and sign him on a permanent deal. I think in these early days he is showing some very good signs and I think he can be a very useful player going forward regardless, at least as a rotation winger. It's just a matter of will we be able to get someone better to be the starter, while Deulofeu is signed as the rotation winger?
I like Deulofeu, and whether he proves to be a good starter or a really good backup, I'd be happy for us to sign him. Just because he didnt fit Everton doesn't mean he's not a good player. Maybe not to start for Barcelona now, but he's still young, with a lot of potential, so maybe one day.

I honestly thought the buyback was like 12mill. at 8.5 for sure Barcelona would do that. No club would turn that down, Like you said, saves us some $$ and makes them some $$$
Btw IF the chinese money does come in, I would think twice to sign Delofou.. Smile hahaha

if gagliardini, a young italian non-goal scoring dm went for c.30m i'd expect belotti/bernadeschi to go for almost double. especially when you consider their buyout clauses and given attacking players always cost more. verratti's rumoured to cost 70m+ so that'll also have an impact.

tbh i'd take a pass on him. i think he's proven too inconsistent in his career and like another poster said we shouldn't be targeting struggling players. taarabt also shone in his limited time here and look how he ended up. we'd be better off putting that 15m+ towards a champion.

looks like we can finally get our hands on nuri sahin! (4 years after first trying!)

Cool ! We could be back in a "injury prone players mercato" ? Sagrin

Milan will have a budget of €130m for the summer transfer market, according to reports.
A Chinese consortium, Sino-Europe Sports, is on the verge of completing a takeover of the Rossoneri, with the closing to be done by March 3.
