Signing of Biglia hopefully is not the end of our mercato for midfield, it needs total revamp. Pasalic returns to his club, Kuco might be heading out?, Poli too, we are left with Monto and Loca, and Jack.( Kessie and Biglia ) we need at least 2 more, creative attacking one and another real midfield..
I read we might sign Mati because Montella.likes him and he costs 1M.
sooo... kessie is not 21 years old but rather 26 years old because he is born in 91 instead of 96

Really??? I knew African football had issues with that, but cannot believe it , it happens to Kessia? just we re about to sign him
Don't be so quick to believe that story. It seems to be just media bullshit at this point

Just rumours taken and related by the Italian medias from a not-very-serious African website ...
Just a rumour, nothing official, nothing serious, nothing journalistic.
We're linked with a 20yo Brazilian midfielder named Thiago Maia from Santos ... anyone knows him ?
He would cost 15M and Lille would want him too.
It would be cool to have some Brazilian touch and fantasy in this team !
I remember him from the Olympics where I thought he was excellent. At the time I thought he was at least 21/22 but seems like he was not even 20 back than seeing as he is only 20 now.
Can't say I've seen him play other than that as GolTV shows the Brasilian Championship here and my provider cut them out about a year ago.
If he plays for us like he played for Brazil in the Olympics, I am all for it.

I agree that Biglia will add quality, even though I am not his biggest fan and I think he is probably in the Montolivo region of quality with some differences.
I was hoping for at least 1 very technical CM, but I don't see us linked to any. It's a shame if you ask me, and it also doesn't add up to the way Montella likes his midfielders. We seem to be building a "mechanical" type of midfield rather than the technical "easy on the eyes" type. It could work and as long as it wins us games, I am fine with it.
I am worried that we are still going to be missing that quality though and also some individuals that have the ability to win the game. We also need some pace through the middle as right now, all the players we see linked to us are not exactly your pacy types.
I understand the concerns and while I share them to an extent, I wouldn't underestimate the technical ability of Kessie and especially Tolisso, who is very technically capable. It seems to me that Montella wants complete all round midfielders that offer a mix at athletic and technical quality. I'm fine with it on the whole, as I'm starting to understand how it might work on the whole. Certainly, I'm much more excited by the possibilities than I am apprehensive about the risks.
On Kessie, it seems his transfer will likely be done this week. He's apparently ok medically and could undergo physical tests tomorrow.
Looks like Gazzetta today reports that Conti will almost certainly be invested in.
A whole load of links continue, with the Pescara duo, Thiago Maia and Ghezzal a few names linked.
"Over the past few hours it has spread a rumor, relaunched by the Italian media and from Afrique Press, who argues that the problem arose during a medical yesterday's Franck Kessie with Milan is relative age of the Ivorian football player, having more years compared to 20 declared and legible on all official documents of the player. MilanNews.it has found an article, dating from 2013, which could give an explanation to the genesis of this hoax around age Kessie. In an article by Afrik-foot.com, it explains that Morocco, after being eliminated from the Ivory Coast in the U17 World Cup, he stressed that, on the official website of the Federation of the Elephants, was specified '1 January 1991' as date of birth dell'Atalanta the player. On the site of FIFA, however, it was given the correct date or '19 December 1996 '. A representative of the FIF (Football Federation of Côte d'Ivoire) had explained that it was a simple mistake of the computerized system management because, when not specified a date as in the case of Kessie, the system generated a date at random. Most likely, then Afrique Press this news combined with that of a small physical problem arose..The mandatory use of Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) was introduced by FIFA in 2009 for the FIFA Under-17 World Cup to help ascertain whether players are over age or not. MRI is considered to be 99% accurate until the age of 17, after which it becomes harder for medical professionals to calculate a person's age. Professor Jiri Dvorak of FIFA said: "The efficiency stops at 17 and it's just pure coincidence that Fifa made their competition an under-17 event".[15] Every bone in the arm and leg has an end plate from which bones grow. When the growth is completed (usually around the age of 17-18), then this end plate disappears on the MRI scans.[15] Dvorak concedes that the scan results "will be unjust to 1% of all examined players".
This MRI scan was also heavily enforced during 2013 U-17 world championship which Kessie was a part of. Kessie passed that test while many players did not. End of story..."
just read this earlier from another forum...done a little checking from other sources and it seems to figure..maybe Franck can sue the Afrique Press for libel/slander.??....it still looks if the transfer will be finalised tomorrow at the latest though..i never post much at all despite reading all the latest gossip since back in the old forum in 1998....it feels like 2002 all over again with some promising signings and a great start to the summer mercato..i haven't felt this buzzed in years tbh..so much for a mere mid-table, mediocre team, with shite, sub standard players..the new management seem to have their heads screwed on and have a real project in place..how i've heard Berlu & Uncle Festa repeat that phrase for nearly 8 or 9 years, but were nothing more than empty, hollow words...the times they are a changing..and about time too..i don't know how many more years of heartbreak i could've watched..even friends who are lifelong Milanistas, born and bred there, but live here now in Ireland, who happen to live nearby, have been saying the same the last week or so..good to be on the up.
"Everything is OK with Kessie after supplementary controls. He will undergo tests at Milanello tomorrow. [@PietroMazzara]
Note: He was actually supposed to have his tests at Milanello today, but due to the issue they found yesterday, it was delayed.
Kessie medical failed...?
