You've said that he's rated by people who understand football, but then said he's the litmus test to know if someone gets football or not. Assuming you're not saying you don't consider yourself as someone who doesn't get football, that statement contradicts itself.

Either way, I consider DES to have shown himself a decent player, even if he's struggled in Milan in recent years.

May have used the wrong words but I'll try again. It's shocking to me that the likes of Allegri/Juve , Real Madrid, Bayern, Conte all like De Sciglio yet it's been 3-4 years and he hasn't shown any promise whatsoever. He is not talented in anything. Crossing, shooting, passing, defending, attacking, mentality, positioning, tactically, tackling, heading, physicality you name it. Usually players that play in top clubs must have AT LEAST one or two things that they are better than their peers in that makes up for the rest of their negatives.. but Mattia? nope. Kid's got nothing except history in Milan's youth setup.

De Sciglio is painfully average at best in all of those things. People are grasping to him because they are emotionally attached to him because he's come thru our youth ranks and has been playing for club for a while (because Galliani never signed any quality competition to start ahead of him). Italy repeatedly play him, he does slightly better because the squad over there is much better and they cover up his flaws.

He's never ever been good enough to start at Milan, nor for any Serie A team. He has no talent, no heart, no tenacity, no leadership, no understanding of the game, nothing. As time goes by, it gets clearer and clearer.

People think De Sciglio is the only one that wants this divorce. Have you ever considered the possibility that it was Mirabelli that wanted him out? Mirabelli's first meeting at Milan after officially taking his position was with De Sciglio and his agent. If Gigio got a contract renewal offer for 5m and we're saying stuff like we'll keep him for a year because we don't want to sell him, why hasn't De Sciglio gotten the same treatment? Yes, they're both in very different positions and times in their careers but if Mirabelli wanted to keep him at all costs, he would have. I'm not saying De Sciglio wants to stay, I'm saying this divorce is very likely wanted by both parties.

RR and Conti will make Milanisti realize what they've been missing in the years we had to suffer with De Sciglio and Abate. RR & Conti aren't world class fullbacks but they're definitely an improvement to what we had.
Ok scratch his name off Big Grin

MDS quality/ability is pretty much debatable and could go on for days, but I'll get straight to the point. While I do agree that Conti might be better than De Sciglio, it is also worth noting that MDS is also better than both Abate, who only offered speed and at 30 years old isn't really helping his cause, and Calabria, who is still young and has much to learn, when played on the right side. on the other side, De Scilgio is pretty much more experienced than Calabria and offers a better option for a backup.

Anyways, the main difference between MDS and Donnaruma is that the later's case was pretty much a PR shit storm and Milan had to act quickly with the press to not lose the "war", while in De Scilgio's case all we've been hearing are mere rumors from the press, potentially to hurt the relationship between the player and the club, while we haven't heard anything nor from Milan's management nor from the player/agent.

This
I think Conti is pretty much my dream signing this summer. He defends, assists, and scores. What more could you want from a RB? I think the kid has potential to become world class
Quote:Milan are very confident about signing Çalhanoglu. Talks with Fiorentina for Kalinic have cooled, Biglia to Milan is not over [Sky].

Meeting for Donnarumma's extension will take place in the coming few days. Player has decided to stay at Milan [Sky]. @DiMarzio reports that the meeting between Milan, Raiola and Donnarumma's family could take place tomorrow. Gigio will not be present.

Bacca wants to leave Milan only on loan but the club did not approve this farewell formula [Sky]
Calhanoglu would be a fantastic signing. I'm concerned though, he isn't slow by any means but he's not extremely fast, I'd say he's about the same as Suso. It would've been nice to have a player with that cutting edge and very fast. Someone like Keita would've been good, or Douglas Costa perfect.

TBH, once Conti, Colhanoglu are done we're looking pretty close to being complete. We'd just need one big midfield addition, and possibly even a side-player maybe someone young with potential, or someone experienced who will come relatively cheap/free?

In attack, I'm indifferent about recent links. I mean, Kalinic is not a bad player by any means, goals aside he reminds me a bit of Mandzukic insofar as he can hold up play and do a similar job. I just don't see a potential pairing of him and Silva being our best option? I'd rather stick to a 4-3-3 and play Colhanoglu on the left if he can play there, Silva middle, Suso right & Kalinic as sub.

I know our management has promised two BIG signings. We don't know who they are yet, and I doubt its Colhanoglu anyways, he's a great signing but I wouldn't consider him a 'champion'.

We've already spent 100m, probably another 40-50m by the time Conti & Colhanoglu are sealed. If we sign Kampl as well that could easily be 70m = 170m total almost.
I still hope one of the big signings is belotti, maybe berrardi also.

I saw Amin Younes, 23 (Germany) in Confed cup although few min as he came on as sub. Play on the left, very good on the ball, technique etc. Currently playing for Ajax.. could be one of solutions for left Devilcool anyone follow eredivisie?

I follow Eredivisie and I must say he's a great player on the ball. Bit his finisging and delivering of crosses is absolutely dreadful. In the Europa League semifinals against Lyon he played one of the best games of his life and he still managed to score only one goal after a lucky deflection despite having a few 1v1 chances on the keeper. It's exactly the same in the Eredivisie. A big no for me.
