It is true though. Chelsea can give him higher wages
In part you're right. The tabloids in the UK are nothing short of dreadful. That's often where the arrogant garbage you see comes from.

However, it would be wrong to tarnish all of the press with the same brush as some outlets are very respectable. Traditional broadsheets like Guardian have very well respected voices in football, while others like The Telegraph have genuinely impacted the game itself with some superb investigative journalism.

That isn't to say they don't have any bias, as most of the English press widely believe the PL is the best league in the world. However, the difference between tabloids and more respectable sources is tabloids will attack or look down at foreign leagues, while respected sources will simply sell the PL as the best in the world.

To make matters worse, in England today Italian football is no longer seen to be a top league. That's partly true following the difficulties Italian football has had since calciopoli, but there have been signs of progression and improvement in the last couple of years, with hopefully a return to form with the Milanese clubs. Unfortunately the vast majority are ignorant when it comes to knowing much of anything about calcio and buy into everything that they're fed from incorrect or outdated sources. That and for as long as I can remember and for whatever reason, Italian football has always had a bit of an ugly duckling syndrome where it was criticised, even when it was unquestionably the best league in world football.

That isn't me being biased towards calcio, it's still years away from being what it was pre 2006, but I'm well enough informed to have a level of understanding of where the problems are and where there is good reason for optimism.

There are other factors that also come into play about the press, mostly political or social that I can't delve into here.

Put simply, there's a handful of reputable outlets that generally can be a trusted or be considered a serious source. These include names like Guardian, Telegraph, BBC, Independent and Sky Sports (though their live match coverage is garbage). Beyond those, consider pretty much all sources to be unreliable.

Edit: for those who don't know, I'm from the UK
Thanks for the info Dev. That's why I was asking. I know not all of them are bad. I guess it's the same everywhere. You have a couple that do good work and the rest just "make up" stuff especially during the summer. Italy is perhaps even worse with the amount of wrong stuff that's reported.

The thing the bothers me about the English papers, good or bad ones, is what you said about the arrogance and the belief that the PL is the best league in the world without acknowledging much else that's going on in other countries....and I'm not even talking about only Italy but other countries as well. This is what has led me to to basically celebrate every English team's loss in Europe. Even a lot of the fans are really arrogant. I remember going to an Everton forum in the winter when we were about to sign Deulofeu, and the stuff I saw on there was mind boggling. They were talking about Milan as if we were a second tier team. Some of those people genuinely thought that Everton is "bigger" than Milan. I get the fact that they have money to burn, but god, how arrogant do you have to be to think that.

But I guess we can't blame anyone else for what has happened except for the "leaders" of Italian football the last 10 years or so. Complete mismanagement and what's even worse, no sense of "predicting" the future. No sense of forward-thinking concepts. It's like for a while the minds of those leading the big teams in Europe were stuck in the 90s. Finally we are seeing a shift into new management styles, new people coming in, with new and modern visions of today's business world. Hopefully, Italian football keeps on rebuilding itself...

Anyway, back on topic.....
Chelsea now seems to be on Keita also.
Yeah that really goes back to the point of people blindly believe what they read.

A couple of points that I missed though. First, money plays a role PL teams are rich meaning even smaller clubs can pay absurd money in comparison to bigger teams in other countries. This leads to false beliefs about a club's standing in the game, as in football in general too much importance is placed on financial clout. That isn't to say money isn't important, but it doesn't equal success and it doesn't equal the strength of a club and its brand.

The second point is slightly more controversial, but England does have a kind of cultural hubris. I say that from experience, as I know many people and immigrants in particular who have found it difficult to develop a positive relationship with many English people and instead found people from other backgrounds more open and friendly.
That second point is very interesting. I thought the complete opposite about England. I always compare it to the USA. Yes, there are locations in the US where it's basically what you described....but for the most part, amd especially in the big cities, it's just a huge melting pot and nobody cares where you are from. As a matter of fact, it's the immigrants that mostly seek each other out and want to be around people from the same background.

I have come across a lot of Brits during my travels and on vacations. Let's just say they are not rally the most friendly people and do not get along with Non-brits so easily. Americans not he other hand are rather friendly and chatty. Easy to talk to.

As for our mercato. This is a 10/10 for me already. Considering the kind of doubts that we had about the club sale. Considering the shitty previous transfer window and most of all, because of how efficient this management has proved to be so far. We have made some very good signings and it seems that Fassobelli have put a lot of thought into it.

As for Auba. I am not too hot on him. I'd rather we get Belotti. I keep watching Auba's individual highlights from matches (not Youtube skill compilations) and apart from his pace and positioning, I don't see anything else that he posses that will allow him to excel in Serie A.

Belotti is young, he's proven and he is a work horse. If the club have to throw money, then I hope it is him who we throw it on.
I have to say, I don't care which way this Auba thing goes. If we get him? Cool. If we don't? Cool.

James Rodriguez would be the guy for me. But nothing really happening on that front.

James Rodriguez wants to finalise his move away from Real Madrid within the next 48 hours to ensure he doesn’t have to travel to the United States on Tuesday for the club’s pre-season tour, reports AS.
i know auba has the pace but is he really worth 80m with 8m salary that like paying 80m + 32m (8m over 4 years) for just one player and he is already 28 which means hes pace will be on the decline. i say we should spend that money on belotti 80m and a salary of maybe if he was greedy it will be 5m and he is 23 which means he will serve us for 7 to 8 years or on two wingers an area which we really need players in and one capable CM like modric. and besides we need to keep some money for the winter cuz who knows what could happen what this team will look like.
In my opinion, and even keeping the inflated market of nowadays in mind, Aubameyang is not a 80m player.
