So we are negotiating with for Belotti and Morata, yet both Mirabelli and Fassone are in China. I just don't see how they would do that for what's supposed to be the biggest transfer of the summer for us.

This is what's making me think that Aubameyang is the #1 choice. If they fail to close that in China, than it will be 1 of the other 2.

But like I said, I would not write off getting 2 of those 3 Big Grin

I'm getting the same feeling to be honest.

There are issues for all of them:

Aubameyang - Wants higher salary (10-12M), Wants out of Dortmund, Also wanted by Chelsea (rumor)
Belotti - Cairo (the ass) wants 100M transfer paid out, Wants out of Torino, rumored to be wanted by Chelea
Moratta - Wants higher salary (10M), Wants out of RM (not confirmed), We're the only ones capable of buying.

However, Fassobelli can play the field with all three.
Given the rumors that Chelsea want to pick up Aguero, it seems the only viable option for all three are us. Management are willing to accommodate a salary of 8-10M, but we don't want to bid more than 60-70M to buy them out. So....

Unless Belotti manages to convince Cairo to lower his asking price, he's out of the picture. He's also had one great year and one not so great one under his belt. Consistency and whether he can maintain his good form is up for review this year. He's got a lot of upside and love for the shirt, but he's not worth 100M. Heck even 80M would be excessive for him to be honest.... The fact that he's got no European Experience is also a risk. We aren't sure if he can maintain good form when constantly playing two games a week.

Auba I'm good for, but only if we manage to lower his wages to under 10M. At 28, it's probably his last big money contract before he starts to decline. And whilst he's at his peak right now, there are also concerns as to whether he can replicate his performances in Italy the way he played in Germany and in the CL.

I'm not too keen on Morata because of his U-turn after winning the CL. There's nothing particularly wrong with him as he has Serie A and CL experience, but given the other two options who are actually keen for a move to us, he's probably third choice based on that.

Given the China tour and our opponents though, I would not be surprised if we ended this tour by bringing Auba and Renato Sanches with us on our way back to Milan.

To be honest, I can see it working, plus given they're all early 20s, that, like our defense, could work for a long, long time.

I can totally see us trying 442 diamond midfield like the good old days. Romagnoli and Congo are clear class. Our 2 new fullbacks are attack minded and whilst I am not saying they are brilliant defensive players by are capable and RR has played the left side of a 3 man defence before.

What that means is we can play Conti and RR as full backs in a 4 man defence, when one pushes up the other can side across if needed for a 3 man defence, and with a diamond midfield with Biglia holding and 2 box to box midfielders we should be very solid (which is why I am all for Rental! He and Kessie could do a good job in thatcher role a Scott still slow for one of the playmakers roc sit behind 2 strikers.

With that team (which we nearly have) we are a world class team in my opinion, with some depth depending on who we let go. All that is holding us back will be how quickly we can tell as a team and I see no reason why that shouldn't be quite quick if I'm honest.

agree with everything mostly but I think Musacchio has been bought to start. I don't think Romagnoli's going to be benched either and I'm 100% certain that we haven't spent 40m on a 30 yr old like Bonucci for him to be used in rotation. The only sure starters in defence right now are RR, Bonucci and Conti. Romagnoli last year was very very shakey for the most part but that happens when you have a poor team ahead of you not protecting your defenders. He's a player that'll improve tremendously and we also have Musacchio who also is a proven leader and was actually bought here to take that Bonucci role but he was too big of an opportunity to miss out on and I'm sure Musacchio's thinking quite a lot on whether he's going to be a starter or not. Then there's also the probability that Romangoli's injury is worse than we expected (he's been out for the entire summer and still hasn't bene training with the squad). Also keeping in mind that Musacchio is extremely injury prone, Bonucci is 30, depth is something that we need.

I think if all three are available, we'll see a 352/343. The 4 at the back will be an interesting option when we're trying to chase a result and depth allows us to be very flexible and dangerous. We need to be able to adapt but we also need to create our own identity that forces others to adapt to. That will be Montella's goal until November.

Meanwhile we are about to sell De Sciglio to Juventus for 12m. Funny how the world works and it's true when they say it's all about cycles. This is revenge for the Matri deal and funnily enough it also cost the same. And even funnier, Allegri was the one who requested both players  Devilol . I really hope this deal concludes asap before we ship him off elsewhere. I can't wait to see him start for them, they're so happy to sign him. They have nooooo idea what's coming  Sagrin
Considering Des doesn't want to be here and we have moved on I agree getting the deal done asap is in everyone's interests and if we get reasonable money all the better. We certainly shouldn't let Juve get their way though.

In terms of defence, I didn't mention it but with the injuries and needing depth it is one of the other reasons I see us still playing 4 at the back. We clearly have the players as you mentioned to be flexible and change to a 352, but I personally think if we do that when everyone is healthy we are not making the most of our attacking pieces. I mean certainly your right, I don't expect we bought Misacchio initially to be a bench player but that would have been pre Bonnucci. But similarly have we really bought some of the midfielders to be on the bench? If we buy one of the rumoured strikers we must be playing 2 strikers and if that's the case we would only have 3 midfield spots leaving many good players not playing.

Oh how times have changed. We are actually talking about depth and having good players not being able to be in the main 11. What a nice position to be in.

Now, they just need to finalise this striker so I can make an informed decision as to who to put on the back of a new kit. Haven't bought one in what seems like forever after religiously always having the latest home, away and sometimes third at all times. Which leads me to...as a U.K. Buyer, where nowadays is the best place to buy kits (best deal and good service with an official name/number added to the back an not a ridiculous shipping charge)? I don't think I can make it to Milan this year (certainly not for the start of the season) so would want one top to start the season and would buy another in the official Milan store if I can get over.

We should start a new thread. Who are you putting on your New Jersey Smile
I'd like to first wait until the transfer window closes because I don't believe the numbers are final.

Let the outgoing players leave and others can take their numbers (#2, 4, 7, 10, 11 are still up for grabs).

Kessie picked #19 in the pre-Bonucci era of 1 month. Leonardo has built his whole image and whole brand based on #LB19 so he really would prefer his #19 jersey and I don't think Kessie would mind handing it over.

I know Hakan picked #10 in the last friendly versus Lugano but that's subject to change by August I believe, depending on who else we buy. #10 is always a very marketable jersey and i'm sure we plan on bringing someone who sells jerseys.
Oh of course, completely agree you wouldn't buy a jersey until the numbers are finalised but like I said I would want to get one before the season starts and the numbers are always finalised in time for that.

But knowing the last star name(s) allows us to plan who we will purchase on the back regardless of what number they are.

Can't wait.
€50 million + Niang, Locatelli and maybe Paletta for Belotti. Hopefully the deal for Locatelli is only a loan for a year or two...

http://www.football-italia.net/105935/mi...otti-offer
50 million is already lots, Locatelli being given away will make this mercato ~10 points lower (between 0 to 100) in my opinion. Even loan I am not a huge fan of.
Locatelli should not be allowed to leave, unless it's a dry loan.
