Quote:Conte sarcastic on referee
By Football Italia staff

Antonio Conte felt Juventus “did more over the 180 minutes” against Lazio and rued that last-gasp miss, but also adopted sarcasm when discussing the penalty incidents.

The Bianconeri were held 1-1 in Turin and lost 2-1 in a dramatic second leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final.

“We did more over the 180 minutes than Lazio, but whoever wins is always right, so we accept the result. That late miss from Marchisio weighed very heavily on us, as it would’ve been the goal to qualify us.

“I could not field Alessandro Matri because he had flu and was running a high temperature, but Fabio Quagliarella did well when coming off the bench.

“I am satisfied with Luca Marrone’s performance and he has a great future ahead of him, also as a centre-back.

“I’m happy with the overall performance, although we must unfortunately accept the result on the field. The team knows what I ask of them and we are not worried.”

Conte received a two-match Serie A ban for insulting the referee after Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Genoa. There were more contentious incidents in the first half at the Olimpico, as Mirko Vucinic appeared to be brought down by Federico Marchetti and Mauricio Isla might’ve tripped Miroslav Klose.

“Oh they weren’t penalties, the referee is always right,” said the Coach in an extremely sarcastic tone.

“In fact, Vucinic dived. He should’ve been booked for simulation and Marchetti didn’t touch him at all. Seba Giovinco was booked for diving? He should’ve been sent off, for you cannot try to con the referee like that.

“As for Klose, ooh, it was a very violent foul. An evident penalty.”

Cunte sounds very bitter. Sagrin
Conte as a player was like this too. He is great when he is in his comfort zone (like last year). Remember he was nowhere to be seen, as soon as we got the lead on the table he started attacking Allgeri and the refs all the time. Now that they are only three points ahead it totally different scene. He has lost it. I am really sorry that Napoli lost Lavezzi, they would have been champions this year.

On another note. I looked at Serie A standings and I was shocked. Palermo and Genoa are on the relegation zone. WTF!!! Not that I care about Zamparini and Palermo, he totally deserves this but Genoa?!! maybe we could have loaned them some players to help them??!!
Genoa's situation reminds me of last season right now, but I think they'll survive as they have enough to stay in Serie A.

As for Conte, quite frankly he's doing the same BS act he did this time last season. There are very few people who I dislike in the football world, but he's definitely one of them.

We should! They can certainly use some quality players like Bonera or Antonini, no? Sagrin Actually, I am just half-joking. Devilcool
Roma 2-4 Cagliari

Can you believe that this was the same side that beat us 4-2 right before Christmas, and this was the same goalkeeper that frustrated all Milan's shots?

"Roma have announced the sacking of their manager Zdenek Zeman following the side's 4-2 loss against Cagliari on Friday night."
Just saw that too. I have always liked Zeman for his anti-Juventus attitude. Okmilan I wish him good luck. Smile
One thing that Zeman's team cannot do is to be boring, their attack is a joy to watch, their defense is comical. And it's not just Roma (this season and his first stint years ago) but also Foggia to name just two of them. His team is neutral's favorite but at the highest level of football, without balance between attack and defense, you won't win anything.

He's an idealist and I guess at his age now he'll never change his philosophy even if it costs him his job.

Very true. That said I'm also unconvinced of Roma's project, the way they've gone about it since the new ownership has come in is with some decent transfer activity but without any significant structure or philosophy.
wow, both Inter and Lazio lost? Big Grin
