Let's learn from our mistakes. 2 years ago we didn't need Bonucci. We had just signed Musacchio and thw plan was to play him. It's been since revealed that we were negotiating with Aubameyang when the Bonucci opportunity came up. We abandoned our initial plan, and went for Bonucci. In turn, we could not close for Aubameyang and instead signed Kalinic.
We don't need Icardi. We have one of the top scorers of Serie A in our squad. Is he as good as Icardi? Well probably not. Not yet at least. But the fact is that we invested 35mil in him just 6 months ago so let's believe in him. He scored 20+ goals in Serie A last year, so there is no need to replace him.
We know what we need in this squad and it's not an Icardi type player (let's not even go into the drama and baggage he brings). It would be a terrible decision to splash on Icardi just because he is an opportunity and ignore the real need.
We need to sign a SS and if possible another CM/ACM. The budget needs to be allocated to that and not a penny from that should go to Icardi. It would be "Bonucci mistake" all over again.
