Good thought on Miguel veloso but I still have my heart set on strootman though both would be easy transfers to conduct, Miguel veloso because he is a genoa player and we know how easily we can make deals with genoa given our good relationship although strootman is a much more interesting prospect and given van bommel is now a psv player and a direct replacement coming from Milan he could have an influence on the transfer on top of it being psv were dealing with we could probably include one or two players of ours that we don't use like taiwo or strasser etc with a small cash amount. Anyhow so far great transfer campaign given we haven't spent a cent also expecting another midfielder like strootman Sahin or veloso we will finally be complete . Our lb problem will probably be ongoing since we don't want balzaretti anymore but de scgilio, didac,Emmanuelson, mesbah and Antonioni will have to fight for that spot regardless at rb it will always be abate even if he has some mediocre performances I still rate hi
In my top 5 in the world , just personal opinion.
Didac Vila coming back is good. I was extremely disappointed when we loaned him back to Espanyol. He was only given one match with Merda Leo to impress, who preferred someone like Antonini (breakout season, scored against Juve) to make Ronaldinho look good on the left flank. Truth be told, Didac impressed me the first and only match he had with us, and even further when he played the U21 EUROs at the end of that season (they won the tourney). After a year spent being one of the most consistent left backs in Spain, I can only thank Uncle Fester for having more faith in him than Merda Leo ever had.

Gabriel should be a decent keeper, given that he is young and has time to develop even further. He's already gone up against the likes of Tello and Oliviera in the youth Tournaments, even winning the Junior World Cup. From what I saw in the video the boy is impressive with his feet, steady with his hands and his timings coming out of the goals. One point of concern though, is that in nearly all the clips I've seen of him it seems like he concedes at least one goal each match (never more than two max though), which raises doubts about his consistency. At 20 years old however, he should still be able to improve more and more.

Given the current transfer campaign, I get the feeling what we are doing is two-fold.
First, we are trying to get players into the team early so that we can integrate them before the campaign has started. Sounds like normal procedure? Need I remind you that the first 6 matches when we bought Ibra and Binho over were a disaster, as was the first month of last season when our midfield couldn't gel. Teamwork and understanding only come when you play, communicate and work together for some time. Prince was probably one of the best indicators, he started chatting up Ibra and the others from the very first training session he had with us, and look where that's gotten him now.
Second, we have practically brought in all our players so far for next to nothing. Given the way Galliani normally operates, that normally means we will splash out for one big signing on the year, two given this season we really haven't spent squat. "Big" however is a relative definition. The season we threw away Sheva, we signed Vogel and R.Oliviera for a combined 25M? Two seasons ago, it was Ibra and Binho (Ibra for 8M upfront, Binho for 12M?). The way things look this season, I am highly anticipating a shell-out for what should be a "Quality" anchorman. Strootman fits the bill. anyone else coming in (Sahin) would be a bonus, but if Galliani manages to pull that off, that would be icing on the cake for me.

Regarding Urby, I do not believe we will throw him away. He's too good of a utility player to chuck away just yet. Plus, its not like he was really poor last season for us, I do not get why some of you think so lowly of him. As an attacking midfielder he was lacking, but he still had his moments. He's good on the dribble and hardly has the ball taken off of him. His passing needs a bit of work, but tactically he is stable. Plus, he plays nearly the entire left side, an area we have been lacking reinforcements since Paolo was moved to CB.
I am not really sold on Didac, but I have always been biased against any Spanish player in Milan. The important thing is whether Allegri sees him as an integral part of our future plan. He certainly has age on his side and did just have a splendid season.

I know that many don't agree with my choice, but I would rather have Balzaretti as our starting LB.
@Ryo:

A minor error in your post: we did not buy Vogel and Oliveira at the same year; in fact, Vogel was included as part of deal that saw Oliveira coming in the opposite direction.
I agree with you on this one,De sciglio impressed lot more in both their few outings.Didac looked in trouble not occassionally facing speedy wing players.but I didn't see his games this past season, not know if he's improved or not.

My bad mateDevilcool
My point still stands though. We do tend to get "Someone" for real money each transfer window, regardless of how they turn out in the end for us.

As for your bias against spanish players, I can't say I blame you. The only two I remember were José Mari and Javi Moreno back in 2001/02. Neither could settle in Italy and both ended their stays after one single year. Didac is my hope that things will be different. Kids these days tend to adapt faster, and with a more global outlook, and with a 6 month trial with us already, here's hoping that his second stay with us will be just as productive as Abate's is. Sagrin
Glad to hear galliani said that a new CDM is coming before aug 31.I expect a physical all around player like strootman or kucka.

Hahaha, so basically we swap Robinho with Muriel? No thanks.

Why not? muriel got speed, finish, physicality advantage and lot younger.robinho only better in movement and occassional creative sparks which never shows in big moments.

Same sentiments here on Spanish player, thanks to the JMs (J. Mari & J. Moreno)
However, despite that, it's only fair if he's given enough chance to prove he's good enough for us, (and or just good enough than existing LBs we have now Devilol)

he's young, pure LB, Spain U-23, and he did pretty well w/ Espanyol last season (also playing most of the games, if not all)

If he really stays as per what Galli said, Im looking forward to seeing him starting
I'm impressed with both Didac and De sciglio, i think our managements primary reason for not investing in a left back is because first off Acerbi can play CB and LB, not so sure if he's any good at LB. De Sciglio really impressed in his few appearances, where Didac REALLY impressed for a full season but with Espanyol. Antonini is always going to be antonini, he had some bad games, some okay games then some like against barca where he'd be rated one of the best LBs in the world had he played like that consistently. Emmanuelson is also an interesting project at LB if in fact that's where Allegri plans to play him, he's just over all an interesting player. He's got the pace, he's got the dribbling, he's got some defensive characteristics, he has a good left footed shot and cross, I rarely see him get taken off the ball (although he's not neccesarily a strong player) .. I think we should keep urby no matter what, he's a great squad player and has had some spectacular games/goals with Urby it's just a matter of him finding a position that best suits him and staying consistent at it.

In our "Mr.X" saga for a midfielder I think it'll be Strootman, since it's confirmed negotiations will take place when the euros are done (now that netherlands are out maybe sooner?) Anyhow, other solid link is Sahin, I doubt it will happen but who knows I predict a loan+option to buy type deal, also we've been linked with Lass diarra from madrid.. not a signing I'd like, I'd prefer both sahin or strootman over him but hey I wouldn't complain anyways.

Anything can happen really, Strootman is really the only player who has any concrete link with us but for all we know we might end up signing someone whos been gone from any links in the media with us like ganso or something
Strootman will probably come.

What I am interested are the players who care now pure surplus and thus would not need replacements, like Mesbah and Taiwo? As both of them will probably be sold and should be around 8mil. If Milan indeed is willing to part way with Urby and Robinho too, that amount should be at least 23mil, good enough for a mid like Hernanes or Honda.

Again Gabriel, sorry to say but you tend to overprice our fringe players. How could Mesbah and Taiwo be sold for 8M together?
