See, I've been wondering. How come Bonera never said he wanted to follow Maldini's footstep and became a captain? Why is it always players like Kaka or T. Silva? It's just not fair, you know
Hehe
I hear u bro....that's seems to be another curse to add to the Berlusconi Trophy...players know fans want to hear the
good players pledging their future to the club and wanting to become captains so these are the ones we sell...and we keep the crap....
But in all fairness, Bonera did finish last season on a "high" by his standards and is doing pretty decent in the friendlies now and I do like what he says during interviews ...seems clever enough. Who knows, they said Thiago was poor when he first came to Europe and then hit his potential a bit later...maybe Bonera would fulfil his this year...one can only hope
Btw milannews and calciomercato are both suggesting that Zapata is non-EU and so they ruled out players like Dzeko, Tevez, Damiao (if they ever were real options)
Why dzeko? Isn't he born in Bosnia ?? That's an eu country
Bosna is in Europe, but not a member of EU.
Well then, that rules out every striker we've been linked with .. Other then boriello pazzini and matri... Damiao tevez and dzeko all non eu
This makes me wonder..how does the FIGC treats Swiss and Norwegian players? They're both non-EU countries.

If I am not mistaken, you did want him to Miln or hype him when he was on top form in Udinese a couple of years ago.
About Zapata, I think this is a good addition for Milan. He was a quality CB but had injury (injuries) which was a long one IIRC and since then his for declined CMIIW. THe point is he could get his top form back since he is not that old except his injury does really stop his effort to gain top performance. News said that Milan got him on loan with option to buy which means Milan have time to evaluate his quality. I think, this transfer is similar like Muntari in term of cost (Muntari was much cheaper since he was free transfer) and both were quality players in their position but lost (are losing) their top form.

Good question.
Actually, excellent question. I am hoping that some expert can answer it.

Wrong. It's VERY closed.

Not an expert...
I think players from non EU countries that are within EFTA (European Free Trade Association) and EEA (European Economic Area) count as EU players.
"The EEA is based on the same "four freedoms" as the European Community: the free movement of goods, persons, services, and capital among the EEA countries. Thus, the EFTA countries that are part of the EEA enjoy free trade with the European Union."
EFTA countries : Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland.
EEA countries : Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.
If I understand this correctly players from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway count as EU and players from Switzerland count as non EU. Not 100% sure though. Might be some other agreements involved as well...
Somehow Swiss players not counting as EU players sound rather strange, but of course this entire issue is non-sensical to me.
