If you look at the team now, there is less distances because we can press really high because of the speed of Kalulu and Tomori. They can recover almost anything. With Botman, we will be forced to be a little deeper because of Botmans lack of speed. Yes we will be more reliable on crosses because of his monster size, but the whole team structure will change, and i dont know if thats the right solution.

If Romagnoli stays i really cant see anything positive to splash 33 mill euros after Botman. We will then have Kalulu- Tomori as the first choice pairing, Kjær and Roma will fight for the sub role, and Gabbia will be fifth choice. I think this is enough.

Use these 33 mill euros ++ to get Bernardo Silva!

Botman lacks speed ??? Icon_lol2
Nex time it would be good to watch some game before post coment like this..

Botman lacking speed is a misconception. He LOOKS like he'd be slow and clumsy, but he is actually quite quick and agile. We NEED another CB. Not saying it's priority. But we can not enter the season with what we currently have and I don't trust Romagnoli. The stats we see without him in the lineup are not a coincidence. On top of that, Kjaer's condition is also up for judgement when he gets back. Romagnoli would be a good a good back up. But again, his salary is way too high (even the reduced rate) for a 4th/5th choice.
Botman likes to stay deep, but with such speed changing into a pressing type is not a big problem.

Then we will have a super aggressive CB pool, as Kjaer also known as a pressing one.

Botman is a fast defender.
Also very technical, he's frequently taken corner kicks on the left side for Lille. Passing ability of a midfielder
Botman is fast, didnt know that. Thought he was like kjaer and romagnoli.
39km/h is actually really fast, tomori and kalulu fast. This is good!

Osihmen, Napoli's attacker known as a fast forward - top speed only 32km. Botman can run circles around him.

Botman can be world class very quickly. I like the signing, can never get enough quality there.
39,21 km/h?!? Wow, that's really fast. Didn't Sven Botman was that fast. Usain Bolt's top speed was 43,99 km/h. Usain Bolt's average speed when he set the world record of 9,58 seconds on 100m was 37,6 km/h.

I thought Borussia Dortmund's Erling Haaland was fast, just read:

"Having clocked a top speed of 36 km/h, Erling Haaland has emerged as one of the quickest strikers in the history of the game."

Makes me wonder if Botman's numbers really are correct?!?

Botman on Mbappé:

About Botman's strengtgs from SempreMilan:

"Pace and 1v1 strength: He might not be as pacy as say Tomori, but Botman does have speed enough to deal with loose balls and recover when the ball is put behind the defence. He is not the slowest therefore, with pursuit angles key as seen below."

Im shocked too.. 39,21 is insane fast. I will eat my hat. If this is true he will be a great addition. Thanks for correcting this wrong thinking.

I dont know what and how they measured but this is the official Uefa data...

Yup, 39 is top speed he had at some point, but average is 31,8. He don't run 39 all the time.
