Abate is back, but not sure if he should start after his time out. Maybe he can be brought in the second half and use his speed against their tired legs.
We will need some pace to deal with Lennon, Bale, or both....can we clone Abate?Big Grin

We may not have even one Abate for this game (it is still doubtful), let alone two. Confused
I love the title on this article..

It seems there is a doubt about our formation: an attacking trio with Pato, Ibra and Robinho (but no striker on the bench as a consequence) or Seedorf used instead of Pato or Robinho (meaning a more solid midfield IMO and a striker on the bench).

I'd go for the second solution ... Then, Pato or Robinho ? Robinho seems in an amazing form and he already built a great partnership with Ibra, so for this game, I'd use Robinho and use Pato as super-sub.

Of course, by doing that, Pato will have to play this week end from the first minute ...
this game will be all about running & fitness. am hoping to see a seedorf in the middle & maybe robinho starting. 2 goals will not be enough
Normally I put my Lineup, but I don't want to put my name on this lineup that will be used. Unfortunately, we're so depleted in midfield we have to make 2 moves I'd NEVER do:
* Gattuso as CDM
* Seedorf in Lineup at all

---------Robinho---------Ibrahimovic------------
------------------------------------------------------
--------------------Seedorf-------------------------
------Flamini-----------------------Merkel---------
--------------------Gattuso------------------------
Antonini---------------------------------Oddo-----
----------------T. Silva---Nesta--------------------
-------------------------------------------------------
---------------------Abbiati--------------------------

I don't think Oddo has been bad like many of you. He's the 2nd best RB we have. I'm dissappointed we STILL have not seen Didac Vila as I thought he'd be our LB. I guess we have to stick with Antonini. This midfield is poor IMO, but since this game will be more TACTICAL for us to win, this is the lineup we need. Pato will come in for Seedorf if we need a goal and Robinho will go to ACM. I think it's a rather easy decision to make this formation as we have literally NO CHOICE.

OUT through injury or cup-tied: Inzaghi, Cassano, Van Bommel, Emmanuelson, Pirlo, Strasser, Boateng, Abate, Ambrosini

I'm a bit concerned with this guy: he was very tired against Parma after just 80 minutes ... In this game, he didn't have a lot of work and didn't really pushed forward (nor did Oddo: is it an order from Allegri to prepare them to defend against Tottenham and not make us being countered ?), so I'm worried because if we don't control the ball against Tottenham, that will mean the rythm will be a lot higher and what will happen ? He will be tired after 55 minutes ? Huh
I think Pato-Ibra-Robinho will start. Slowdorf will sit himself on the bench, as Gattuso, Flamini and Merkel will be the midfield trio. Slowdorf only had one okay game, I mean he still lost the ball a lot, did not track back, and jogged around the field. Yet, he scored the opening goal, mainly created by the team/Ibra and almost everyone of you think he is a Golden Baller already. He is crap, thats a fact, if he starts against Spurs, Milan will struggle.
Another thing, if Milan can't put in 2-3 goals against Spurs at San Siro, then it will be a tough match against them in England. Esp., since Modric, VDV, and Bale should be 100% fit and ready by 2nd leg.
Thus, none of these Italian tactical play it safe, 1-0 win crap. With a strike force of Ibra, Robinho and Pato, supported by a defense of Nesta, Silva and Abbiatti against a weaken Spurs team; Milan should win by 2-3 goals easily.

Even if Bale and VDV play, they won't be 100%, thus I am not too worried about them.

As for Crouch, imagine he scores off set piece, will you guys start saying it was a mistake to let go Gouch, as his height and size could have stopped Crouch.
Redknapp said something about Bale today. Well, don't searching for an excuse too soon Big Grin

Just one day more to witness the return of the King!

Firstly, about the bold part: I didn't see anyone saying such a thing on the forum. Why making such a statement when the only person who wrote Seedorf and Golden Ball in the same sentence is you ? Big Grin
Seedorf was very good against Parma, but most of our players were very good, that doesn't mean they will be good against Tottenham. But if I personnally would choose Seedorf as a starter against Tottenham, it's because of his experience and the fact that we struggled in Serie A with the attacking trio in 2011.

About Onyewu, I think you over-rate this player !!
I'm sorry but I will feel 100 times more confident with Thiago-Nesta instead of Thiago-Onyewu or Onyewu-Nesta. And while physically, he would be a good player against someone like Crouch, if it's to allow VdV or other smaller, technically better and faster players to score, there is no point. You don't want Crouch to score a header ? Cut their wings !!

And it's linked to my previous sentence, about our RB, Allegri said Abate is ready for the game of tomorrow, but given the good performances of Oddo, he still has to decide who will start.

Allegri is such a nice guy Big Grin

The only reason why he would say that is that Abate is not ready to play an entire match anyway so he builds Oddo's morale...

I know the logic behind Seedorf starting as we saw the best performance of the year when playing without an attacking trio...but we also scored 2 more goals when Seedorf was substituted and we played with the trio and honestly i think Allegri will play the available trio even if he won't have a striker on the bench.

the midfield could be tricky especially as to whether we should play Thiago in Van Bommel's role. We had this discussion on the chat during the last game and how that would leave us with 2 slow defenders (Nesta & Yepes) to stop their fast forwards...but come to think of it, their forwards are not the fast ones, it's their midfielders who are and so maybe better to have Thiago stopping them there.
