Thumbs up Zahed.

Football world is silly if Niang costs (almost) twice De Sciglio, not saying you are wrong just talking about football market. It also doesn't look like we can get 18 for Bacca, unless a Chinese team decides to want him.

RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - winstonwolfe - 06-13-2017

Hahaha, I am not impatient and definitely not nervous and frustrated about this kid.
This whole situation is a matter of principle. This kind of behaviour should not be tolerated from any player, especially not from an 18 year old kid.
Milan will be there after Donnarumma.

RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - WCmilan - 06-13-2017

Growing reports say that we will sign Diego Costa on loan with option.

If we're going with a two striker formation, like a 4-4-2 for example, we still need a wide player for the left wing & possibly a sub to either of our wingers. I'd look into Forsberg as our super sub/rotational player & someone like Douglas Costa/Keita for left wing

What I agree and is not talked here, is the fact that Donna is not that innocent in all this story. If my Italian serves me well, in the interview he said that I am attached to Milan but my interests are my interests, and they are a different story, letting us know that under the right amount I would love to stay.

On the other hand Fassone today by trying to put pressure on Donna, said that they are calm because they have offered Donna a great deal of 4.5 mil annual salary, much better offer than the initial one.

Now if you go and break this up, you will get Fassone and Mirabelli trying to play the emotional attachment card by offering  lower initial offer which was not satisfactory by all means

In this case, Donna without representation, would either accept the offer or maybe just maybe get a 10% increase. But, when you have a hardball manager like Raiola, he shifts the scenery by putting pressure on Milan, and it worked, we upgraded the offer to TOP 3 goalkeeper in the world standard. You dont get that by being the good guy, because Fassone and Mirabelli are not good guys either.

Raiola played his cards right, and kudos to him. And I am sorry, but kudos to Donnaruma for getting from 200.000 annual to 4.5 mil. We have switched jobs for much less..

Now we have a great GK, who on top will be happy, will be motivated and will feel like our best player, which he is. Did you read the story in the interview where he says that he is now able to look and buy a house in Milan. He could not do that until now, with the salary he gets. This gives us a totally new perspective from another point of view, because we only see football from emotional point of view, but football players are professionals and football is their source of income.

Now remember, this is what I got with my Italian which is far from ideal.

Raiola is more then just an asshole

I disagree. In life, whether it be work, business or every day life, no one ever offers their top offer first time around. Plus you're making it seem like his first offer was 1mill... instead of the reported 3mill making him our highest paid player.

Gigio wouldn't have no representation but a better manager would have sit down with the club and come to an agree meant privately instead of playing games in the media and ruining the relationship Gigio has with club and fans...

The happy, motivated comment makes me laugh... Players that only stay for money are only ever happy and motivated until someone with more money comes along.

And I stick to my initial assessment...
Gigio probably asked for help negotiating a new contract but I think people underestimate the snake's influence over an 18 year old and their family. Sitting behind the scene's talking about how much extra money he can get if he sits there and holds out. What do you think will happen in two-three years time when there's interest from other clubs? Do you suggest we just double our offer every time? Dealing with Raiola we'll end up paying Gigio 20+mill a year by the time he's 30...

Quote:Today was meant to be the deadline for a reply to the contract renewal offer worth over €4m per year.

Not sure we do have our top keeper. I doubt Mirabelli and Fassone will be too impressed with him not giving us an answer before going off with the U21s. As for Fassone and Mirabelli not being good guys... I doubt you would have everyone saying that they've been great to deal with if they weren't. they're definitely nothing like Raiola... No one except B&G like dealing with him

You are making my point! It is well documented by Fassone by now that the FIRST initial offer (which had to be outside of the media buzz, cuz we did not know about that) was much lower than the later one 4,5 mil.

I hate the fact, but you cannot argue that what Raiola did got our MGM to offer that 4,5 mil for his client, and that is his entire job.

About the happiness comment, just for a reference Kaka milked us every single year and he was our best player by some distance. In this context you might be right, he can always find a better suitor financially. However, once more from his own lips, Donna said in the interview, I am attached to Milan, meaning he wants to stay, but under the right condition.

Now, what I am saying is lets be more realistic, football nowadays is ruled by money, and if are to become great again, we will have to lift our game up, and lets not pretend that we will witness another Maldini or Totti. Now you get loyalty from players like Messi, but you upgrade their contract every year.

For example:

10 years ago if you remember football players could not enter the the TOP 10 list of highest paid athlete. Only Beckham would make the list, and not for his footballing abilities.  In 2016, Ronaldo and Messi were the highest paid athletes in the world.

RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - Stitch - 06-14-2017

From FB page "Milan Fans"

Fassone will meet with Mino Raiola on Thursday for Donnarumma, according to Gianluca Di Marzio. It was a tense day, Milan were furious and contacted Donnarumma directly today to get a response. Raiola did not like it at all. Today there was a risk that relationship between parties break down, Thursday meeting decisive.

At this point I'd prefer he refuses to sign and we sell him. We're building for the future, we cant have this drama every few years he starts to feel he needs a new contract. Fuk off greedy bastard, both you and your agent. We could probably buy any GK in the world with the money we get for you.

RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - reza - 06-14-2017

The day we heard and posted here that Raiola is his agent I (and others) said he is more responsible than anybody, whether 17 or 18 or 36 he doesn't get a pass. By the way getting max money is one thing but a release clause or even other similar clauses are good for the player? I don't see how, so....F&M have lots to do and it includes extending Suso, imo by end of this week they must move on and deal with Suso and other existing contracts. There is no point in losing Suso for 25-30 and running around for a new RW.

RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - slifersd - 06-14-2017

Raiola might be a good agent, but his method of doing business is absolutely destructive. In soccer, just as in business, there is such a thing as building goodwill with your customers. Certainly, in every business deal, you would want to make all the profits and suck the other party dry, but doing so damages relationships and have long term repercussions. When you look at Raiola's methods, it is very "make or break". Either the player is so talented and would never need to worry about getting paid no matter how annoyed his team's management are with him, or they fade away into obscurity and gets nothing very quickly. Donna is 18, and in all honesty, for as much as he has shown us, he is not in the Ibra territory. If I were him, I would still think about trying to build some goodwill between himself and the Milan management. You never know, one day, he could be on his last legs and in need for another contract. When that happens, it might be helpful for team management to not hate you.

Compared to someone like Mendes, another super agent, Raiola is nothing but a thug. Mendes does plenty of dirty deals and under handed tactics as well. But I very rarely hear him openly talk trash about team management or go to war with management figures. They might have their disagreements behind the scenes, but Mendes knows enough about not letting business dealings get out of control. He is smart enough to let business be business, and negotiate with his skills instead of playing bully ball. What goes around comes around, Raiola's tactics are going to come back and haunt him at some point and hopefully Donna sees it soon enough.

I somehow enjoy this player & agent & club game. They are very practical, even heartless. So it will likely reach a result that please all related parties, including fans, though the process is very tiresome and heartbroken for fans.
