RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - Aficio - 06-14-2017

I think we should treat Donna as merely a player that we have just finished the transfer fee with his "club", and now dealing with his financial demands.

Stop treating him as one of us, then everything is fine.

He is matured, too matured, so he could be a very good player for us, which is what we need. So, we pay, you work, simply so.

When his demands become too much, let him go. Begin to nurture Plizzari seriously, and if Plizzari grows to be like him? Simply buy a good GK. Milan as a club/company does not lack alternatives.

RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - WCmilan - 06-14-2017

Really dont care for the Donnarumma situation anymore. If he leaves, we'll get good money for him. If he stays, that's fine by all means.
Like Aficio said, if he's too expensive for us sell him - simple. I never have any emotional attachment to any players, I love the club and whoever plays their best for us has my respect and is definitely someone I enjoy to watch and support. I'll support them while they're with us, and forget about them once they leave. What's important is that we continue to win.

50m for Douglas Costa is fair to ask. He's a world class player IMO, probably a bargain at 40-50m in this market tbh.

RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - am I Milan enough? - 06-14-2017

Juve is getting closer by offering 45M for Douglas,

Dont care Donarumma situation, I pay more attention to our mercato  Sagrin never been this good..

RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - Hitman - 06-14-2017

Even if we intend on selling Donnarumma, we still MUST renew his contract first. That's why I think giving him whatever wages he wants is necessary.

I'm thinking of this from an economic and financial perspective now. Right now with 1 year left on his contract he's worth 40m tops. No player with more than 1 year in his contract can be worth more than that. That's a 40m depreciation in 1 year and they can sign him for free next year and give him a 10m signing on bonus. We aren't in a strong position - to sell.

However, once he's renewed his contract I'd do every trick in the book. Maybe even bench him for a long time and threaten to ruin his career (that's what he gets for playing dirty). At this point we would be in a position to sell him for 100m at least as he's well on his way to being the best GK ever. We must capitalize on that.... Renewing his contract is step 1. But renewing his contract for 4.5m wages at 18 is definitely the wrong path we are taking.. like Kastriot said, we'd be paying him 20mil/season when he's 26/27 at this rate. That's not a financially stable and healthy situation. I'd cash in on him only after he renews his contract - not now. It would be stupid to sell him him now, we can get 40m extra for him just by renewing his contract (to whatever wages he pleases). It would be wise to do so. It wouldn't be wise for his Milan career though. But it would be wise for Milan to do so. He wants to benefit from Milan, then why don't we benefit from him?

I said that. haha.

But that's a fair point. But I think at this stage wages aren't the issue, it's the extra clauses and %s. I would honestly ratehr see us offer more $$ without all the clauses and wages and in 12 months time sell him off to UTD for 100mill after De Gea goes to Madrid... Use that 100 to get Verratti and a top GK till Plizzari is ready to go.

RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - sylrus - 06-14-2017

i think plizzari is ready to go, if donna able to do it when he is 16, so can plizzari right now.

RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - slifersd - 06-14-2017

Honestly, the way Donna played his hand with this whole situation, you can already see what a pain in the ass he is going to be to deal with when he is older. If he turns into the second coming of Buffon by 25, can you imagine the amount of grief we have to deal with every year? Raiola would be asking for a new contract adjustment every year, no matter how much we are already paying Donna, you can bet money on that. And we can't not accommodate him either, because then the player gets unhappy and performance starts to decline, and we lose big on the field.

Personally, I think keeping Donna long term is actually a terrible idea at this point. We are really in a no win situation here with him. If he doesn't develop well like DES, then we'd have no reason to keep him at all. If he does develop well, the annual Raiola nightmare will cause serious problems to our locker room. Just imagine, if your goalkeeper is making 10M a year, why would you stud defender or striker want anything less? The entire balance of our pay structure becomes unstable and that can destroy a team faster than anything else.

At this point, I agree with a lot of the posters, let's just extend him and then sell him in a year or so. That way, he can generate a lot of money for us, which is always important since we are talking about a rare talent and FFP will become a problem for us soon enough. And we get to get rid of the headache. At the end of the day, many teams won major championships without a Buffon level keeper, and we should focus our energy and resources elsewhere.

RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - Stitch - 06-14-2017

I wanna add, the atmosphere around the club has been brilliant, everyone is satisfied with what the management has done so far. We're finally moving in the right direction, and the only thing that is throwing shade at it is the Dollaruma ( thanks edyism, I think I'm gonna call him that from now on Big Grin ) situation. We really don't need that. Up until yesterday's news I was neutral on the situation, I didnt care whether we keep him or sell him. Now I wholeheartedly support his sale, phuck off greedy bastard. I'd also give an ultimatum to Jack and Abate - change your agent or you will be benched for the rest of your contract. And I'd never deal with the fat moron or his players again.

RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - sylrus - 06-14-2017

here is the thing, if donna manage to milk us through raiola, what will abate, bona and the others think about this, they could also milking us straight away. let me say this, bona is far more valuable than donna right now, a gk is easily replaceable right now, but a good midfield is hard to come by these days.

RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - GeoTav - 06-14-2017

Actually, think about it guys ... You can't force your players :
- to ban an agent
- to refuse a new agent (if Raiola comes tomorrow to become the agent of another player)

What I mean is that my employer can't force me to ban some firms in my private life.

It's pointless and useless to think such a thing is possible. Even if everyone in Milan drops Raiola, if we refuse to deal with his clients, no problem, but that won't avoid him to take new clients in Milan, and then the whole situation and circus starts again.

So we should simply have one way to deal, no matter who the agent is, and be stuck with this way to deal. Depending on what happens here (and I don't mean only the public news, also the private statements that we will never know anything about), Raiola and his clients (as well as other agents and other players) will or won't try similar things again. And if they do, we will have to deal again in the same way.
