That's even better. From your keyboard to Gods ears. Last big relict and cause of Milan disaster and doom would be gone.

RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - Kastriot - 07-10-2017

So, with Biglia in the bag we have bought every target that we have laid since the beginning, with the exception of Morrata,Keita and Belotti if reports are to be believed.

I not only admire our mgm for the plan they had but how they got every target, with little to no pressure from the competition and whats important, with great will from the players.

I think we should not rush the decision for the next player, lets sell some of the deadweight and based on current player what formation we will use, and than decide on the player that suits us most

It is a big difference if we play with two upfront or one. In both cases we miss couple of players, different from each other.

RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - nefremo - 07-10-2017

^ True! Management has done an exceptional job so far.

A lot of the criticism, or I should say caution, that we see form pundits, former players, other fans...is the fact that we have not signed any big stars/champions/world class names. Can't really argue with that fact as it is true, so I understand people reserving judgement and wanting to see this Milan in action before backing them for great things. BUT, at the same time, it's not like the players we are signing are Sosa and Poli level. We have signed players that have been in the top performers in their respective leagues. Sure, we didn't sign a superstar yet, but I wouldn't be too disappointed if we don't either. Most of the players we signed are also expected to grow in their performances as they are all some way from their peak or just about to enter it.

I think we are laying the foundations for a very bright future. Most of these players (if they perform as expected) will be the base in this squad for years to come......which puts us in a position to only make 1 or 2 signings starting from next season....and those signings will most likely be stars.

I said this last summer.....in an ideal situation the initial investment would be large and will set us up for the future. After that, we should be at a point where we are ONLY singing a couple of players per window at most. Those players should only be big players that can raise the level of the team, otherwise no need to sign anyone anyway unless it is to replace a departing player. Kind of like what Real, Barcelona, Bayern have been doing. They don't usually sign 6/7 players per window. They don't need to. They have their base, and just complement it by signing a couple of players to improve it if possible.
I just didn't think that we would be in this position so quickly. I thought we would get to that point in 2-3 years, but the way these guys are going...if we make the CL this next season (which we should), than we will already be in the position of only signing 1-2 players next summer and on after that.

True that.

Don't concern yourselves with opinions of people like Boban and Maldini, they are people just like us after all who don't have that much more insight on the Chinese plans than we do as fans. All their opinions right now are irrelevant because they're judging the Chinese based on half a mercato session. Let's at least give the Chinese one complete mercato and judge Mirabelli/Fassone's squad construction on September 1. We're in the middle of the transition right and it's just inaccurate for anyone to give an opinion right now. The direction of where we are going is definitely positive though and what we've done so far has escalated what we've done in past transfer windows by so much. It remains to be seen how the players will click together but I trust in Montella.

Meanwhile:

Antonio Donnarumma has landed in Milano and should undergo his medical at Milan today. Gigio is also on his flight back to Milano from Ibiza. Clearly, the deal is done already and they'll sign. I just wonder about the details of the exit clause. I hope it'll only apply for lack of CL participation but even if it doesn't, we've got a clause for 80m apparently and that's 60m more than what we would've had to sell him for this year had he not renewed. That 80m can allow us to buy the best GK in the world and gives us extra change to invest elsewhere.... however, I feel with the signing of Antonio Donnarumma as a third gk, the intention of the family is to completely move to Milan and stay there. Let's see what happens next. Gigio wanted to give a press conference before the Spain game but the Italian FA didn't allow him to talk about Milan ahead of such an important semi-final. He still hasn't yet said what he needed to say. I'm certain he's going to say all of it right after the signing and I'm sure Fassone will be helping him clear his image - but only once they have him locked in a contract.

RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - Aficio - 07-10-2017

I still remember the time we won 3:0 against Juve easily.

Marotta then bought Lichtsteiner, Vidal, Vucinic, and was "gifted" Pirlo and Pogba.

The management has been carrying a great job. And who will be our "Pirlo", Biglia or Modric (in January when he gets older and less play time)?

Boban in particular is always extremely negative. I stopped paying attention to what he says a long time ago.

RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - ACMILAN1983 - 07-10-2017

Looks like we've signed Simone Lo Faso, a very exciting 19 year old trequartista from Palermo. He's likely to go out on loan, but one to keep an eye on.

Also apparently we're after young Uruguayan midfielder Nicholas De La Cruz. They could spend 12m on him and loan him to River Plate.

And of course as mentioned Antonio Donnarumma landed in Milan today. Was interesting to see he had no fanfare or love, just some of the press turned up. Even Borini had more support.

RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - nefremo - 07-10-2017

This Simone Lo Faso kid looks extremely talented. Is it official??

The Uruguayan kid on the other hand doesn't impress me and I can't see us spending that kind of money on him just to loan him. I would rather save that and see what talent comes up in Serie A this year to invest in. Just like what Juventus did with Caldara. I think that kind of money can possibly even buy someone like Coric who's almost turned into the forgotten kid on the block...but still super talented.

Of course, I've never seen these 2 guys play and I am being an "expert" based on youtube videos. Big GrinBig Grin

I'm feeling pretty confident about Auba as it looks like Morata will go to Chelsea
