RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - Kastriot - 07-26-2017 Well I think the World Cup is next year, so motivation should not be a problem for Costa, or any other player with reasonable chance to play in the WC. RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - nefremo - 07-26-2017 I don't rate Sanches more highly than Locatelli. For me, they are 2 different players. I can't even compare the 2. They serve different roles for the team. I think they are also at the same place in their career. Sanches's problem is that the Euros hyped him up and Bayern paid too much money for him, making the expectations super high and almost unfair to the kid. I mean, did people really expect him to play ahead of Alcantara or Vidal, or to light up the Bundesliga on fire when he wasn't even going to play consistently? IMO, Bayern is being stupid. You don't invest that kind of money in an 18 year old player and "give up" on him a year later. It makes no sense. Of course, they are under heavy pressure from Mendes about the game time he was getting, so that is surely a big factor. Now, the price is high. I get that part. But it is what it is if you want a top talent. If someone wants to buy Locatelli, we should be asking for at least 30mil as well....especially when he gets a few CL appearances under his belt at the age of 20. If we can get this deal to be an option to buy, it will be a great deal with very little risk. If it is an obligation, than surely it carries a risk with it....but if he develops as he should, than we'll be glad we did it. RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - hwmook - 07-26-2017 It seem like R.Sanches is more or less a done deal. He is coming. RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - GeoTav - 07-26-2017 For anyone having doubts, Suso said he doesn't want to leave Milan and his change of agent has nothing to do with a will to leave. His new agent being the agent of Montella and Bonucci, it would be weird if the same guy who brought Bonucci would be taken by another player in Milan to help his new client to leave the club ... RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - AC_Troy - 07-26-2017 re Sanches: looks like 40m in two or three payments RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - Siregar - 07-26-2017 I don't think Suso will be sold. Calhanoglu and Suso as starters as wide players upfront with Borini as substitute. As stated by FM we are after a winger so, it will make two subs for two wing positions. I think that's enough seeing we can change our formation pretty easily if needed and Bonaventura can also play there. RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - Hitman - 07-26-2017 Sanches links are getting serious. No way we'd spend 28m on Kessie and 40m on Renato for them share a position. We must have them both to start for the prices we're paying them. If Renato comes on a loan + option yes, he probably will be a rotational player but he says the reason he wants to leave Bayern is because he needs to play a lot more than what he did there. I'm just really glad that we brought in 3 different midfielders. I don't trust Bonaventura at all to get a starting position for himself and to be untouchable. I'm really glad Mirabelli agrees with this by bringing in a player that'll potentially put Bonaventura on the bench. Right now we currently have a few youngsters that can be world class when they mature and grow: - Gigo - Kessie - Silva - Suso Others who can join that elite list of youngsters that could become WC: - Hakan - Romagnoli - Conti - Renato Sanches Players who are currently one of the best (in Serie A at least) in their positions: - Gigio - Bonucci - RR - Biglia - Suso - Kessie/Conti had 1 great season in Serie A but I predict the former to succeed, the latter I still can't tell how it'd turn out but it's a good bet - Musacchio (dark horse contender that doesn't have too high expectations because he was bought at 18m and was our first purchase) I think we're gonna have a fantastic season next year thanks to the great work Mirabelli has done with the squad. Let's hope Montella can utilize his weapons efficiently. I'm still hoping we get that striker + winger though. That winger for me should be Keita but Niang would do - they're both as versatile as each other. The striker? I'm still hoping we get someone else besides Belotti/Auba. That's going to be a major investment and Belotti is just too unproven and Auba is just 29 where this money is going to depreciate so fast and so will Auba as a player as he depends a lot on pace. Diego Costa would be absolutely fantastic, he'd be a GREAT striker to have. I've seen plenty of him over the years and especially last year. If it wasn't for Kante's superhuman stamina, Diego Costa would've been one of their best players if not the best player in their league winning season last year. I just hate that we'd be getting him for half the season only. Then there are Alexis and Aguero who are also great options that'd be even more expensive than Aubameyang though. I just hope we don't fall for the Belotti hype and overpay for him. He's a 30-40m player and that's what he's proven so far. Anything above 40m for him is just the price of potential. If we go for him we should do a deal similar to the Bayern-Renato purchase where they bought him for an initial 35m and had bonuses that'd reach up to 70m. If we do it that way, maybe the Belotti deal can be good but I also am not very convinced with him technically speaking. I just don't think he'd work at Milan given the way we play. RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - EL92 - 07-26-2017 (07-26-2017, 04:11 PM)Hitman Wrote: Sanches links are getting serious. No way we'd spend 28m on Kessie and 40m on Renato for them share a position. Solid post and agree for the most part with the exception that Aubameyang has just turned 28 so is only entering his prime and Sanchez definitely would be cheaper than Belotti/Auba due to contract situation, just hard to fathom convincing him to join us without CL and as a result he would demand huge wages. RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - nefremo - 07-26-2017 I feel like Aubameyang is one of those players that even at 31/32, he would be faster than most other strikers. But more so than that, I believe it's a misconception that pace is his biggest resource. Sure, he uses it well and it's difficult to deal with for defenders......but he is very smart in his movement. One of the best around at that. I've mentioned this several times...but just look at the 2nd goal he scored against just a few days ago. It had nothing to do with pace, but all with smart movement and reading the situation. He made 3 movements in the lead up to that goal. All world class. He is also really good on the ball. Not so much in 1v1 stuff, but he has a great first touch on the ball. IMO, this is actually where his pace and explosiveness helps him out more than anything. He is always able to create separation from the defender when receiving the ball to feet and facing with back to goal. Again, in the game against us in China, he was able to effortlessly create separation from his mark when checking back to the ball...and than showed great ability to receive the ball perfectly with his first touch and bring others into the attack. Watching Bacca attempt to do this is the most frustrating thing I've witnessed in these last 2 years. It's like he is incapable of receiving the ball with his back to goal and a defender near him. About Costa, I agree with everyone that says that he is a great CF. There is no argument there. The abilities are not up for debate. But I am really reluctant on taking him JUST for 6 months as most reports are suggesting. I think we need a medium-long term solution. Agree with Hitman on the Belotti price. he should not cost more than 40mil....maybe a stretch to 50 at most (which would be overpaying, but that that seems the norm these days). Anything more than that is just pure stupidity. RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - Siregar - 07-26-2017 I don't think Costa would come here only for 6 months. He could play next year for his dream club, it is not like that he has to do it soon. He also knows that no clubs logically want to get him for six months. About Auba, I agree. His main skill is his ability to put himself in very good scoring's position, something like Pippo or like Crespo had although they are very different type of strikers. He also has very good finishing. His pace, speed etc raise his scoring's ability. We could still depend on him even he reaches age of 32 or 33 years which means there is still at least 4-5 years best to very good forms from him we could expect. |
