RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - nefremo - 07-28-2017

In other news, we've been linked to Rafinha. I love this player and I've brought up his name for the last several years in here. Unfortunately, he spends a fair bit of time on the treatment table. If he was to stay healthy (big if), he can be an important player for any team, including us. He will bring the much needed creativity and flair in our midfield and can also play out on the right side to rotate with Suso or even as one of the AMs if we ever use a xmass tree formation or something of that sort. It's also an added plus that he is a predominantly left footed player. I think other than Rodriguez (backline) and Suso (attack), we don't have any others that are left footed, right? Definitely gives us options.

The other clubs linked are Liverpool (mainly as they would want him in an eventual exchange if Barca was to buy Coutinho) and Inter. I think we would have a much higher pull than Inter at the moment, but I am not sure about Liverpool as they will be in the CL and they were just rejected for Naby Keita...so they might go all in for Rafinha.

I now I am completely biased in this view as I just really like this player, but despite all the injury problems, I would still love to see us go for him.

I wish we'd stop spending though, I don't trust this.

unfair of you to be wishing the worst for Milan (ie. not spending) just because doubt is clouding your judgment...

we're in good hands and the money we're going to make is almost guaranteed otherwise they wouldn't have been so confident. Even if the revenue does not reach the numbers we expect, our owners can sponsor Milan and pour in the revenue much like PSG & City have been doing with the owners' subsidiary companies. how do i know this? easy. read between the lines and read Fassone's expressions when he makes his comments. well and being very informed in the whole deal from day zero to today.

this is the perfect opportunity to overspend. this summer. we won't be able to do anything like this summer ever again. Milan is in a very unique position where we haven't been in Europe for the last 3 years and we have new owners who want to invest large amounts. We'll be discussing with UEFA our new voluntary agreement in the Fall for the 2018/2019 season. Whatever's happening now this summer will not be part of the 4 (or 3) year financial plan that will be submitted to UEFA. If you don't fully grasp this, I'd happily explain to you what I know... but we definitely don't need to stop investing because a few people (let's call them Pallottas) have doubts.

Find it ironic that you're quoting Pallotta earlier and celebrating how Fassone dealt with (a.k.a crushed) him yet you have the same exact doubts. Only difference is Pallotta is Roma's president and publicly criticizing Milan's ways, whilst you're a Milanista who should be aware of what's been going on.

RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - nefremo - 07-28-2017

Yea, I agree. I wouldn't be worried about the spending and I hope we stay with our plan to buy a striker.

Also, guys, even if we don't reach the high revenue numbers that have been mentioned....all we need to do is raise our revenue by 100mil and this summer's spending will be easily sustainable. And 100mil will be no problem. A couple of sponsors, increased interest by the fans both in Italy and abroad, and CL money will surely bring that increase.

People like Palotta forget how much bigger Mipan is than Roma and how much quicker ww can raise our revenue. As I said earlier, even with no Europe and at the very lowest point of the last 30 years, they still couldn't get their revenue to be higher than ours. I think finally this year they made more money than us...but that will disappear quick.

But like hitman said....i smell a huge Chinese shirt sponsor incomming. It will easily dwarf anything anyone else has in Italy.

No need for a personal attack there, this is not kindergarten. And before this clarification by Fassone I was definitely not the only Milanista doubting. I definitely do not want us to spend much more, even now. There are gonna be some definite failures in our current squad and I wish for us to have the capital to replace them if necessary... maybe even this winter. If we see, for instance, that Biglia is not living up to standards I'd rather have the money to buy dendoncker for instance.

Quote:Milan's interest in Milan Badelj is still alive. Montella likes the player and with Sosa likely to leave the club things could develop

RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - nefremo - 07-28-2017

No problem with Badelj. Great squad player. Problem is that Montolivo has to leave first, otherwise we'd be saturated in that position.

Also, what'll happen to Loca. I love that kid.

RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - ACMILAN1983 - 07-28-2017

Nefremo thanks for explaining about Seriousxm, as mentioned I'm only familiar with it thanks to beyond the pitch.

Got to love Fassone, to get Palotta to apologise within an hour of responding just shows how powerful his response was. It's interesting to see that he and Mirabelli seem to have some pretty big fish worried, as now clubs seem slightly afraid of Milan returning.

On Badelj, he seems to be heading our way. Sosa is looking close to leaving, Badelj rumours growing and apparently he seems set to change agent to Lucci, who represents Montella, Bonucci and most recently Suso.

If we have a big loss this year and next year it will require more to get back into good territory from 2018, losses do not happen in yearly 'isolation' . To be honest not sure I would word it like Hitman but just because 2018 and later is what counts doesn't mean big losses now are no problem.

RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - nefremo - 07-29-2017

Losses are no problem if there not a big problem to cut them in the short term. Debt is actually healthy if managed correctly.

True, although I believe because of the change of ownership and the voluntary agreement to disclose to UEFA, Milan have 3 years to come into line with FFP. That allows them to go big now, and then stabilize so by the end of year 3 they are in total compliance. Think the plan here is to have the "Milan China" project create new sources of revenue in China and SE Asia, probably some monster shirt sponsor, and then of course more success on the pitch which generates more revenue from the gate (season tickets are already up significantly), UEFA Champions league, television/media/advertising, and merchandise.
