RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - ACMILAN1983 - 04-24-2017 Fair points nefremo. I think on those areas we have a gap we will have to agree to disagree. I think the situation is a shame, but both we and he will move on no doubt. I was quite excited by the prospect of James as a name to join the team, I think he would really be excellent in Montella's approach to the game. RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - nefremo - 04-24-2017 He is a big name and he is a great player. I think he's not been used correctly at Real. He is not a winger (which is where they used to put him in) and even though can be a good CM (where most recently he's played for them), I think he is best behind the striker. I find it crazy that Real spent that kind of money on him based on his performances as a CAM, yet they've never played him in that position. Do you think we'll keep the same formation with James in the lineup? I think if he comes we would have to consider changing to a 4231 or something similar where James plays just behind the striker and is given the freedom to roam around. RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - ACM2023 - 04-24-2017 It is Real Madrid. They can afford big names on the bench or played out of position. We were once like that too. I would be ecstatic if James Rodriguez joined us. Him, Isco, Verratti, or even Kovacic or Pellegrini would be my dream this summer. RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - Ace - 04-24-2017 I haven't really thoroughly read all the debate on MDS.. but I'd like to point out couple of things. First, his lapses in concentration isn't something unique, and frankly, he surely didn't cost us as much point as Abate who as I remember alone cost us two derbies and conceded many more assists for failing to track back or block a cross... things happen in football, and honestly I think we're pretty used to those. Some of the criticism is pretty harsh on him, as week in week out he's getting bashed for a poor result, yet we forget that in the last five matches our defence has rarely had any cover from the midfield.. hell even since De Jong left I think our defence has been exposed!! I'm not even going to use the Zapata/Paletta cards... those guys cost us more points than any other this season for there shambolic defense shenanigans. On his lack of attacking support, I tend to disagree that he isn't capable, as he has shown at the start of the season that he's more than capable of being a useful outlet in attack when he linked up with Bonaventura... but I think that with Montella growing in his coaching ideas he decided to go with a 4-3-3 which is pretty fluid, turning it into a 3-man defense on attack which our players are yet to master it. With that said, if it is the player's wish to leave I'd be disappointed, but wouldn't lose sleep over it... I'd rather keep the players that actually want to play for this shirt. RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - nefremo - 04-24-2017 http://www.football-italia.net/101611/kramer-reveals-milan-interest Kramer is saying that Milan (new management) asked about him and scouted him during the Fiorentina game. Interesting... RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - reza - 04-24-2017 ... and the way he talks about Berlusconi is like a former player. If it was B&G they would sign him just because of that RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - nefremo - 04-24-2017 Haha Kramer is exactly the type of player that resembles your traditional/typical German midfielder. At least that's what I picture when thinking of traditional German midfielders. Big, strong, does the simple things very good. Solid in many ways without the "wow" factor. I wouldn't be opposed to him. Funny enough, I was mentioning the formation change earlier today when talking about James.....Kramer would actually be an ideal candidate for one of the mids in a double pivot formation. Maybe alongside Locatelli! Even Montella mentioned the possibility of changing formation. It would mske sense that we were also linked to L.Gustavo RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - ACMILAN1983 - 04-24-2017 (04-24-2017, 05:10 PM)nefremo Wrote: He is a big name and he is a great player. I find it crazy that Real spent that kind of money on him based on his performances as a CAM, yet they've never played him in that position. I think it would be 4-2-3-1, with James having freedom to roam. I think arguably his biggest strength is the intelligence of his movement, so he can't be forced into a role that would restrict that. As you've mentioned, links like Kramer or Luiz Gustavo would make sense if we were to get James, which would mean having a double pivot with a regista (Locatelli making most sense to me). RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - somedevil - 04-25-2017 We all loved De Sciglio at some point or another but let's take all that objectively. First of all, De Scilgio's career graph is an inverted one. The peak of his abilities was the confederation cup in Brazil where he was absolutely at the top of his game. Whether it was the turmoil at the club, a deserting of confidence or something else, what we know for sure is that he has declined a la El Shaarawy and Pato (though that's a different story) as he has aged to mid twenties. Is he as good as he was? No. Will he be as good? Who knows. Secondly, If anyone noticed, then gone is the smiling face he used to have not long ago. I have rarely seen him smiling on and off the pitch this season. If I read into it then it seems that something is going on in his head. If I read too much into it then it seems like a player who is ready to move. Thirdly, if he wants to move to Juventus then fuck him. He is dead to me and is a traitor. I just hope that we put a massive price tag on him. Even if it means that he rots on the bench for the whole next season then so be it. Let him train with the reserves. Though for all parties concerned it would be better if he went abroad. The most important thing however is that we get a quality replacement. Vangioni doesn't cut it and Antonelli is at best a decent backup. I hope the new management are up to the task. RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - ACM2023 - 04-25-2017 Let's hope that our new management will actually make good decision. There is no doubt that B&G love Milan but the way they ran the club, it was impossible to expect them to handle this business right. Quite likely they would just give de Sciglio away to Juventus for their "friendship" and to "respect the will of the player". |
