RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - reza - 05-01-2017 (05-01-2017, 07:51 PM)WCmilan Wrote: Can anyone fill me in on how Pellegrini plays? I'll be honest I haven't watched much of him at all. Montolivo but better RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - nefremo - 05-01-2017 For me he is a much much much better version of Pasalic. Does a little bit of everything. If he was to come, I expect him to play the "Pasalic" role in Montella's midfield. As it's been said though, whether it's Pellegrini or Kessie that comes, we absolutely must bring in another midfielder because neither one of those two is ready to raise the level of this midfield to where it needs to be. As a matter of fact, if we don't bring in a class midfielder, there is a very good chance that Kessie/Pellegrini become just another Bertolacci as they simply can't bear the load at this time. That's my opinion on the matter. Think about it....if Bertolacci had Seedorf/Pirlo/Kaka alongside him, maybe he was going to turn out great too. Instead, here we are figuring out what to do with the "20 mil Euro man" while he is criticized from all sides (understandably so). Pellegrini/Kessie can easily turn out the same way if there isn't other class players in the midfield to bear the pressure and help them out. Not too long ago, Bertolacci had the same (if not better) status in Serie A as Pellegrini/Kessie. But there always that question mark about his quality. After all, he wasn't a Verratti/Pogba who you look at in one game and can just see that there is greatness there. He was a good player in a midtable team that needed the right elements around him to succeed. We didn't have that in Milan and he failed. Pellegrini/Kessie are in the very same boat if you ask me. Bringing one of them here will barely fix anything for this midfield. (if it's the only thing we do to the midfield) RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - WCmilan - 05-01-2017 My second question is, what do you guys think of Fabregas? RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - reza - 05-02-2017 Not a fan of the way coaches use him in false 9 and stuff, of course it can work but I am not a fan of that set up.... on a Milan team we would need a real good DM in front of the defense if he is in central midfield of any shape. Sort of like Gattuso besides Pirlo (not saying Fabregas is anything like Pirlo but I am talking about midfield shape) RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - porcho - 05-02-2017 (05-01-2017, 04:45 PM)nefremo Wrote: I would be ok with that. Can't argue too much there... although for me it's an easy option which of the three to keep. Poli needs to go 100% and Kucka is 50% decent 50% liability. Berto would be my choice to stay... Next season we can replace him with another youngster. I still feel like I'd rather Tielemans then Kessie for less $$ or as you said, spend the extra $$ and get Kovacic... Sort of like Gattuso besides Pirlo (not saying Fabregas is anything like Pirlo but I am talking about midfield shape) Would have to agree there... It would give Fabregas the freedom to dictate the game. COuld end up being one of the best signing of the year if we play our cards right. The ideal would be a DM, Fabregas, and an all rounder. There are plenty of options for the all rounder. Would love William Carvalho as the Dm but would be too expensive. Luis Gustavo would likely be the more realistic option. Signing Luis Gustavo, Fabregas, Pellegrini/Tielemans would probably be more rounded options... With Bonaventura, Monto, Loca, and Berto providing cover for the three styles of midfielders. RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - sylrus - 05-02-2017 pellegrini - fabregas - kessie with locatelli, monto and berto as backup yes it is to attacking minded, but i think fabregas and pellegrini could do it, with kessie being given a more advance role. RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - nefremo - 05-02-2017 Bonaventura is a far better player than both Kessie and Pellegrini at the moment. There is no way either one of them will bench him and neither one of them can do what he does in tight spaces and under pressure. Practically he is the only midfielder we have that can still play when pressed by the opposition... RE: Summer transfer window 2017 - sylrus - 05-02-2017 on left wing or cam?? I prefer him in the middle of the park personally and I'm assuming for the purposes of this discussion we're assuming he stays in the middle of the park because we'll be signing a winder... fingers crossed it's Douglas Costa! |
