He was loaned out four years ago when he was 18... I don't think we can hold that against him now?
Had played three full seasons at Celtic, won 3 SPLs, 2 cups and 3 league cups. Was in SPL Team of the Year last season. Regular for Norway national team for 2-3 years, 16 matches.
Of course the SPL is totally different level than Serie A, but he's got potential and is relatively cheap in todays' market.
Van Dijk played for Celtic until he was 24 and then Southampton until 27, so we can always have hopes I guess.

dont underestimated other lower league nowadays, i think so many good players come from them, look at rb leipzig, did they buy players from big league and known name? they create the players.

Did you check how many games he has played for Celtic at the tender age of 22? He will definitely be better than Duarte, worth the gamble. We are going for option to buy which reduce the risk of getting a lemon like Duarte.

I remembered Ajer was very highly rated in my last Football Manager game I played (FM15?16?). I was Norwegian NT manager, Odegaard-Ajer was unstoppable
