RE: Summer mercato 2021 - bop - 05-25-2021 Wow woke up this morning with the news regarding Donnaruma. Like the sentiment here, I agree with this decision. He and Raiola fucked around with us, now he got what he deserves. Good bye. If you truly loved Milan, you would've signed ages ago, and make Raiola insert a minimum release clause if we failed to qualify for CL. But you didn't. Surely this means Donna is gone as we can't possibly have BOTH Maignan and him. While in general I do agree with the no Raiola client policy, I don't know if this bold move may force Romagnoli to reconsider employing a hardball tactic. But, I wouldn't be surprised if Maldini and co decided to cash in on Romagnoli this summer. The question is who to buy as the 3rd/4th defender? He could've solved this issue had we bought Simakan. But, oh well. RE: Summer mercato 2021 - ac.michael - 05-25-2021 Maignan is just as good. Dollarumma is overrated IMO. He's a solid keeper but he's awful with his feet and still not near the level of Neuer and the likes, not sure he ever will either. Technically we aren't letting him go for free. Reported 20m agent fees and around 10m a season for a goal keeper is going to cost us as much as his transfer fee would've been. RE: Summer mercato 2021 - Reso - 05-25-2021 Excellent. Welcome Maignan. This is great news. Very happy Donarumma is leaving. He will learn a life lesson this time. Ps. Most juve supporters are worried. cos they don't need a GK n this guy will demand a huge pay to join. RE: Summer mercato 2021 - winstonwolfe - 05-25-2021 The club did the right thing. Next is Hakan to leave. It looks like we are creating healthy environment around the team. Pretty happy about Donnarumma leaving. If this is happening because Milan decided that enough is enough, rather than Donnarumma deciding to definitely leave the club (which tbh could be the case as well, we don't know what's happened), then it sends a strong signal to the rest of the team about what the club is willing to accept in future contract negotiations. This would be a great thing to do. Raiola has probably assumed that Milan would be so desperate to keep the player that eventually the club would budge and accept his demands. By not doing so, but instead going for the "nuclear option" of signing a new goalkeeper before Donnarumma's contract has expired, Milan would basically be saying that it won't be bullied and that no player is bigger than the club. But yeah, we don't actually know what has happened. It could be that Donnarumma decided to leave the club after his brutal meeting with the ultras, or that he just wants to go to a club where he can win trophies immediately. RE: Summer mercato 2021 - winstonwolfe - 05-25-2021 Also, I am sure that Donnarumma have an agreement with some other club. Juventus or PSG. RE: Summer mercato 2021 - bop - 05-25-2021 When Maignan's signing becomes official, I won't care where Donna goes. I will cheer everytime he concedes a goal, especially against us. RE: Summer mercato 2021 - Arildonardo - 05-25-2021 (05-25-2021, 03:05 AM)Demonbanana Wrote: So, with the Donna's out, Romagnoli is certainly going to. No Raiola client's. I don't count Ibra since he didn't use Raiola to negotiate the latest contract apparently. According to Transfermarkt RDP's agent is Augustin Jimenez and not Raiola. Same agent as Angel Correa, Thiago Almada and Matias Zaracho. RE: Summer mercato 2021 - Sputnik - 05-25-2021 Ballsy move from the club. They got sick and tired of being blackmailed. And the Maignan deal is pretty decent for a great prospect with a fantastic season behind him, while getting rid of a fat contract that wants to get fatter. RE: Summer mercato 2021 - Arildonardo - 05-25-2021 Just a couple of days before Atalanta match Raiola, who had offered Donnarumma to Barcelona, warned them that he would stay at Milan if they qualified for CL. What a blow for him that it now looks like he has to leave anyway. He thought he was running the show all by himself. To be honest I expected Donnarumma to stay in the end, but this soap opera has been going to for too long. Our management have shown that the club is bigger than any player, well, everybody knew that except Donnarumma/Raiola. I'm happy the club took the matter in their own hands and acted swiftly while a top goalkeeper like Mike Maignan was available. On the other hand it will always feel a little sore that we get no transfer fee for a player worth €50m+, although we are saving a substantial amount of money (and drama) by letting him go. It's a tough statement from our club that you can't bully us and hold us ransom like that, even if it went on for too long. |
