Donnarumma ----> Maignan issue is not really comparable to Hakan ----> whoever, as mazen points out above. Although we shouldn't allow any player to reach Bosman.

Saša Kalajdžić
24 year old (on July 7th) Austrian (of Serbian descent) striker playing for Stuttgart. Had his breakthrough season there with 16 goals and 7 assists in 33 matches this season. 3 goals in 8 matches for Austria. 200 cm tall!
Stuttgart bought him in 2019 for €1.75m. According to Transfermarkt his market value now is €22m...

Yes, but the club comes first. In Donnarumma's case, we were able to get an adequate replacement. In Hakan's, I'm not so sure we can do the same without breaking the bank. Now, I don't need to explain again how much I think Hakan is shit. And I hope we break the bank to reinforce that position. But who knows what's going on with the finances.
There was also that talk of Raiola demanding an insane fee. I don't think that's the case in Hakan's offer.
My whole point is, although similar from the outside....the 2 negotiations seem to be very very different.
So I have no problem if Maldini leaves an offer on the table and in the meantime searches for another ACM. Hakan can take it or leave it...but if he waits too long, it may no longer be there.
I think if we had found an adequate replacement, we'd have rescinded the offer by now. So for me, the problem is there. We can's seem to find/sign/buy a player to give us that edge in the negotiations.

Atletico Madrid have reached an agreement with Udinese. The deal should include €35m in cash and an additional €5m in bonuses.
De Paul will earn around €3m per year until 2026 and the playmaker could complete the move to the Spanish side next week

You either stick by your principles or you don't have any principles. If Maldini's policy is to run business the right way and not get black mailed by players on Bosman, then he needs to stick to that policy and not bend it anytime he feels like it. Donna was probably the best keeper we had since Dida, and Maldini told him to kick rocks without any issues. I don't see how Hakan should be given the runway like he is some kind of deity in Milan. If we don't have the money, then sign someone young and develop him. Hakan was good for a few months out of the last four years, not exactly a Herculean task to replace him.
