Suarez-Griezmann could be problematic in the CL.

Griezmann for 40M after Barca paid 120M 2 years earlier. And they wonder why they are in debt !

Griezmann has been out of form for a year or two now.
Not actually worried about him.
Them losing Saul is pretty big. Koke and Marcos Llorente are decent but Saul really bossed that midfield.
They're beatable, same as Liverpool (probably more than Liverpool).

Don't be surprised. There are always people who judge player so bias.

Serie C player level when he has showed his potential with Milan in Serie A as starter (as CB and fullback)?  Dodgy

Regarding Messias and that Favre (or something like that), some have said: Maldini co have been showing what we have not known and proven that we were wrong. Saelemaker?

People could argue easily why they let our CAM starter go free, the difference of the wage offered by Milan and Merda is not that big. Same with that player from France, 'only' 2 mil euros. People however fail to understand that Milan are building towards a healthy competitive club and the policies Maldini co have been following so far suits Milan goal.

We have splashed more than 70 mil euros for players coming to Milan (transfer fee and loan fee) THIS SEASON and we still haven't got a penny from CL money.

Relaxed, enjoy this path and let Maldini co do their best.

RE: Summer mercato 2021 - Siregar - 09-01-2021

For me, Maldini co 'mistakes' is let Donna and Hakan go FREE. I am OK with their decision not to agree with the demanded wages, bonuses, etc but Milan should just sell them while their price were still high. However we were still CL-spot contender last season, 4th place especially the quality of the team last season was more crucial than those kind of potential transfer fee.

RE: Summer mercato 2021 - Demonbanana - 09-01-2021

Our squad looks a lot better depthwise:

GK: MM, Tatarusanu, Plizzari
LB: Theo  , Ballo-Toure
RB: Calabria, Florenzi, Kalulu, Conti
CB:Kjaer, Tomori, Romagnoli, Gabbia, Kalulu
DM:Kessie  , Bennacer, Tonali, Bakayoko  , Krunic
LM:Rebic, Leao , Krunic, Maldini
RM:Saelemaekers, Florenzi, Messias , Castillejo
AM: Diaz,  Messias , Maldini,  Krunic
CF: Ibrahimovic, Giroud,  Pellegri, Leao, Rebic

Youth player's who may help out : Capone (AM)  , Roback (CF) , Jungdal (GK), Kerkez (LB) , Alesi (AM).

as long as Griezmann doesn't find his old form now he is 'home'. I have mentioned earlier I think we can go through with Liverpool.

The problem is with this "only 2 mill" sentiment is that that those small figures add up and the continued bending to the selling club and player demands means those smallfigures continue to grow.
I'm happy witht the decisions being made and that we keep taking baby steps and moving forward. The slow and steady approach ensures continued improvement and success. Last thing we want to do is go all in and end up like an Inter. Sure. you might win a scudetto but at what cost?

RE: Summer mercato 2021 - Kastriot - 09-01-2021

Yes! But at this moment there is Conti, Castillejo and Krunic in the rosster, whos salaries would make the difference for both Hakan and Donnaruma.

We screwed up big time and there should not be doubt aboiu it. I am guessing that we will move to 4-3-3 with flatter midfield and two wingers. Diaz will move from the left, and we will play bennacer, kessie and tonalli in midfield.

RE: Summer mercato 2021 - Zio Fester - 09-01-2021

This morning’s edition of il Corriere dello Sport (via MilanLive) writes that Kessie and his agent are asking for €8.5m net per season in total which is comprised of €7m fixed plus €1.5m in potential bonuses, while the Rossoneri management have put forward €5.5m net so there is considerable distance between the parties.

The report mentions that there is now a strong risk that the Rossoneri could lose yet another player on a free transfer and the situation that has arisen is not what Milan imagined after Kessie spoke at the Tokyo Olympics and declared that he wanted to stay.

Yet another to walk away on a free. Serious questions need to be asked of the management. Heads would roll in other businesses for such incompetence.

RE: Summer mercato 2021 - nefremo - 09-01-2021

Bench him! Put him in the stands for every CL game (since we can only put 7 on the bench in those games)

But why does a CL participant sign a guy like that? Can you imagine deploying a supermarket worker in a CL game against some of the best in the business? The mere idea of that is ridiculous and an embarrassment to our jersey. And all of this was done just so we can save a couple million euros?! If that's all we want to do, why even go to the CL? I wasn't expecting us to spend 100m on somebody, but missing out on our targets for 2M, and then sign a supermarket worker is the kind of crap Galliani used to pull late in his career.

Sorry, I didn't mention his football capabilities  Blush

- He is a master dribbler: completed 105 dribbles in 36 Serie A matches. At 30 I can't find anyone who could accomplish such a feat, except Messi  Okmilan
- He is fast
- He is left-footed yet having a strong right foot.
- He can play RW, SS, and sometimes AM.
- He possesses good stamina, helped him play 36 matches full time while almost all wingers run out of gas quickly (ex: Chiesa, or our current RW)
- He has "instinct" in his dribbles and finishes, just my opinion
And last but not least, he comes cheap for only 2.6M this season while someone like Faivre costs 12M+3 (our offer) or 15M right away (Brest). If Messias is 3 years younger, his price must be much higher than Faivre, IMO.

So, for CL:
- He can make us stronger by giving a new weapon: running pass opponent, on the right wing where both Alexis and Samu (and Florenzi) are not able to.
- More goals, our RWs (and LWs now) are not good at finishing
- He gives us depth. Surely. Any team competes in CL must have depth.
- He makes our tactics more realistically versatile by his position: RW in 4-2-3-1, SS in 4-4-2 (we now have 5 FWs: Ibra, Giroud, Pellegri, Rebic and he), and I think we could try him at CAM.

Of course, there are also downsides as his physical abilities can only get worse, his tactical awareness maybe not good (Milan can improve that), and I have questions for his 6 yellow cards last season (maybe that means he also joins the defense).

In general, for 2.6M that's a nice move.
