Why have we bought Vangioni? We have Antonelli and De Sciglio over there. So either we are selling De Sciglio or converting him to a right back and sending Calabria on loan.
I doubt our management has the foresight for the latter.

In which case it makes more sense to buy a player who is a natural left back to compete with Antonelli, and let Abate and De Sciglio battle for the right back position.
I can't be 100% sure, but I believe that Vangioni can play in the middle too. I remember reading the article when he flew to Milano for medical, in which article he allegedly said that he would listen to the coach to play either "on the wing or in the middle". I suppose that means that he can be either a fullback or halfback.

Vangioni can play LB, LW and LM (or mezzala), but in recent years has generally been used in LB. The transfer still makes zero sense to me, bear in mind the guy has never played in Europe, has been capped by Argentina the whole of 4 times in his career and is now ready to explode at the age of 29.
Forgive me for being a little skeptical of this deal.

You have every right to be. This is another shady looking deal. There is definitely something in this for someone, but not Milan.
From what I've seen from him, there is nothing special about the player. Decent going forward, but nothing out of the ordinary. Even Braida came out a few months ago and said that having scouted the player, he can say that he's a good player, but not a player for Milan. But I guess it is what it is. He is here now so we can hope for the best and that he'll at least be a good option for our left side.

And jet ,worst to come. Genoa asks 25M for Pavoleti. For him we will pay like we did for Bertolaci - without asking questions .
Avaiting for arrival of exorcist into our boardroom.

This Ganz kid is an idiot. Had one good season at age 22 in Serie B and he's going to Juve. What does he expect to do there? He is going to get like two starts in Coppa the entire season and rot away on the bench the rest of the time. He should have gone to a lower level Serie A team, like say, Samp or Torino, where he has a chance to develop further and shine. It's one thing to be ambitious, another thing entirely to run before you learn to walk.
Vangioni is...how should i put this...a typical Gallianian signing. Average at best, overpaid, highly touted by our management (and nobody else), and contributes to absolutely nothing. Berlu likes to talk a lot of trash about Inter, but their management is doing a much better job getting players than we do. They got Banega for free, and we got Vangioni, not sure in what world we could be considered the winner here. That Hojberg kid from Bayern is apparently leaving. I think we should make a hard run at him. Cheap, young (20 years old), talented and wouldn't mind coming to us since he has a chance to play. Classic buy low scenario for us and he will likely be better than Bertolacci and Montolivo combined if given the playing time. |
