But I agree that Bennacer is the best midfielder at the club. He's got the "special something". The "x-factor" that others don't have on the ball. We need him to get back to full fitness and form asap.
Amd yes....give him an extension now and remove that damm clause (or bring it way high). Don't wait until next summer. Start the process now.

Tonali can be more than a kessie replacement seeing how he create goals for the italian U21. He can be another Bennacer IMO. Having 2 Bennacer would be amazing, it would give us unimaginable edge over the other teams. Give Bennacer 4m and remove that clause or increase it to 100m.

Agree that Tonali can be more then Kessie. He's far from it now, but the tools are there. For me, he's a true box to box midfielder. Has the tools do do it all...defense, transition and attack. Honestly, he is the closest I've seen to that traditional style English CM in a long time. Very Steven Gerrard-like. In the 90s and early 2000s, these types of midfielders were looked down on. Very few of them were considered class (Gerrard being one for example). It was all about the specialists. But in this modern day football, these types of midfielders have become a very important of the game.
I do wanna mention one more thing on Tonali's qualities that I think many times goes unnoticed. He is deceivingly quick on the ball and is able to carry it out vertically from a defensive phase with ease. And when he gets going at full speed on the ball, he's very hard to stop because he also carries strong physicality with him. It's a very important thing to have in the team when playing a highly a transitional game like Pioli likes to.

Bennacer on the other hand is more of a playmaker, but his defensive contribution is also excellent.

My impression is Adli is Bennacer's replacement if worse comes to worse with Bennacer. They have similar skill sets. But, I agree. If at possible Maldini should move to extend Bennacer and get rid of that stupid release clause.

They are similar players and I won't be surprised that Bakayoko play as well as Kessie in our current squad. Our current formation/squad simply suit a DM like kessie/bakayoko. You shouldn't underestimate Bakayoko. Kessie was worse than Bakayoko outside of last season. Whoscored's rating reflect that. That's why I am not concerned about losing kessie, a player like Kessie is replaceable.

The reason I say Bakayoko is a downgrade is because he was not consistent at Monaco and Napoli. He was better at Napoli though. Kessie took his overall play up a level.
The other reason,  Bakayoko is 0 threat moving forward. He provides nothing on the offensive end, almost like Rino from that point. Kessie at least moves up quite a lot.

I am fine with Bakayoko though,  I don't underestimate him at all. I think he will do well.

Did anyone get to see the Primavera match? We lost 1-0 but that Kerkez kid is VERY good. MoTM. Chaka Traore also debuted in the second half.

Colombo with another goal vs Monza. He also got one for Italy u21.
Colombo, Roback and Pellegri could be a great trio of attackers for us in the coming years.

Colombo got 2 goals and 1 assist in 3 games in serie B and 1 goal for U21. He is really setting Serie B alight. He got excellent shooting skills but lack the correct movement in our first team. I hope this time round he will really get going.

I am not so sure about Adli, he doesn't strike me as having the kind of passing ability of Bennacer. I am not even sure he can defend as well as Bennacer. In a way, I do think he is better at playing a AMC kind of role with the way he dribble the ball.

Tonali has all kind of tools that I am not sure what kind of player he truly is. In Brescia, he play more like Bennacer, those long passes are very similar. Last season, he seem lost and can't defend nor create. The start of this season, he has become a box to box midfielder who can win the balls and dribble out from defence very fast. I am really impressed by his full array of tools. I am waiting to see him play with Kessie, he might surprised us with his playmaking. He seem to be able to do everything depending on who he play with, a really complete midfielder like you said. Steven Gerrard was great because he managed to make both defence and attack work, most other MF who play like that simply doesn't attack or defence good enough like our own krunic.  Icon_lol2 It's like there are 100 krunic for every Steve Gerrard.

I'm not at all worried with Kessie leaving, he never impressed me as much as others talk about him. However, losing him for free after this summer fiasco with Dollarumma and Hakan - I just think it would be a damn bad joke. We need to renew him then we can sell his ass to the first buyer.

As reported by Niccolo Ceccarini, in his latest piece for TMW, Franck Kessie is now reevaluating the Milan renewal amid the interest of Paris Saint-Germain. The midfielder is unsure about the future, with an exit now possible.

The French side have put a salary of €9m per year on the table for the Ivorian, who indeed is tempted. The words at the Olympics about renewing with Milan don’t seem to mean much now. If the situation doesn’t change soon, Milan could be forced to make the decision to sell Kessie in January.

This is crazy. Kessie has won nothing. He hasn’t played in CL let alone well. How are these salaries justified.
