I read on our own @milanmania that:
Seedorf has spoken wit Galliani about getting Crespo to join his coaching staff immediately and not in the summer..Sky Italia reports
Now we have delays and issues about getting assistant coaches too? Hopefully I am overreacting but coaching staff needs to be set within weeks or even days.

I can't help but feel a caretaker would have been the better option. with tasotti and inzaghi that was easily achievable without needing to go outside the club.
Seedorf may work out well but given Allegri was sacked very quickly I feel we should have still be mulling over the possibility of Prandelli, Yakin, Villas Boas (not a fan but he might have been good) or Seedorf or Inzaghi. In fact if the rumours about Cortese coming to us are true then Pochettino would also have entered the equation and he's had southampton playing very well this year (as well as implementing good youth development).
too many good options for us to jump on getting an ex-player with no coaching experience.
You guys are probably right about the other options but I don't know.......I'm actually excited by the unknown. I guess it's that curiosity and desire for us to find our own Guardiola, or another copy of Sachi, or maybe just another useless manager. Whatever the case, I'm sure Berlusconi has good reasons for appointing Seedorf. They've had countless conversations about football I'm sure and there has to be something that made Berlu go for this. If anything, like I said, at least Berlu will now try to get the players that Seedorf wants. I am sure of that.
In a perfect world, we would have all top-notch coach and players, but knowing our constraint I do think Seedorf is a worthy bet. He was an intelligent player which usually makes a decent coach and has the administration's and fans' support (at least for a while, at least it so seems).
I respectfully disagree with you on the idea of caretaker until June. I think the administration has already decided on Seedorf so he is coming regardless (the latest, July); with this mind, having another interim coach who potentially may have a different philosophy could only do a disservice, costing the continuity and stability both of which can be essential to this team's long run growth.

this is probably why I'm a little worried. Seedorf is so inexperienced it's an unusual appointment, given this there could be two reason Silvio gave him the job.
1) he's got excellent ideas about coaching and playing football and silvio knew this from his time here and keeping in touch with him. this would be great, seedorf will be ambitious, his multi-lingual abilities will be useful in a team with players of different nationalities and I do think he'll identify better transfer targets.
2) he's so inexperienced he hasn't got much authority, silvio will be able to boss him as a puppet because he has no real right to be managing such a big club. He won't get any players he actually wants, just rather who is available (for free) and he's little more than a motivator.
I hope for #1 clearly.
I don't think #2 will happen. (at least i hope not) I don't think Berlu would do Seedorf like that. After all, that's HIS man...HIS pick. I know that we have examples of him doing this (Leonardo for one, but Leonardo was Galliani's man....Allegri was Galliani's man) but this is different I think. Maybe my hope for a better Milan is blinding me but I don't think that Berlu would publicize this so much....fire a coach midseason for the first time in 12 years......go against the grain of hiring an inexperienced coach.....and then watch that coach fail. Berlu will do everything he can (I think) for Seedorf to succeed because Seedorf's success is Berlu's success and then Berlu can come out and say "look, I saved Milan again with my brilliant football mind by hiring who I knew was the right person for the job." We all know that Seedorf (or any other coach for that matter) is not a magician and that we will need good players for us to win. As long as Berlu does that....I could care less about who takes the credit and who gets blamed.

yeah, but that's the problem, what will berlu's "doing everything he can" entail? because we all know berlu likes to get heavily involved, ancelotti frequently played in formations silvio requested for the first 10 minutes then switched to his own formations for the rest of the game. silvio could feel with seedorf not being a strong enough figure that he can advise him on tactics and purchases.
I don't expect "big" spending or miracles but at the same time I don't think 2 will happen. I think something in between 1 and 2 will happen, say like a 1.3 or 1.4
I don't think Seedorf is the type to be a "puppet" ,he has a strong personality and clearly he's coming and he has clear ideas of what he wants. This talk about new coaches, we've heard about Stam, Kluivert, Crespo ect.. Specific coaches for defending, mid and attackers.
Changes are coming and it's exactly what Milan needs, new ideas, a rebuild from the ground up, a sort of revolution if you must. Hopefully by the start of the new season we will have a new Milan, something that clearly wouldn't have happened with Allegri still around.
How much Silvio will be committed? Yes i think he's gonna want Seedorf to succeed, being his pick but most of all he's gonna want his daughter to succeed to. We need a couple good signings which means splashing some money but what we also need are also smart signings and to manage our money better which means no more 11 mil on "Matris".

I think this time Seedorf will have Berlusconi's backing. The two have always had a very tight relationship and I think they share a similar outlook on how they want Milan to play.
I don't think 2 is at all likely, I'd go as far as saying 'No, this is not why we got Seedorf'.
That's because Seedorf is the last person anyone would get to be their puppet or pushover. The guy's very strong minded and has a history of controversy in dressing rooms, especially with the Dutch National team because of his strong personality and for being very opinionated.
I think Berlu chose Seedorf because he genuinely believes in him, not just because of his personality and charisma, but also because he believes in his ideas on football. I also think Seedorf will get more support than either Leonardo or Allegri ever got, because while they were Galliani's picks, this time it's Berlu's choice (and we know how much he likes to capture the limelight of being a hero).
Btw, sorry to be a little off topic, but I read a short interview with Maldini on Milannews, where he says he's not coming into Milan and he's not spoken because there's nothing to say. I believe he also said "now is not the right time to return", which is interesting and might mean that he will return in the future. The translation was really poor though, so I may be mistaken here.
