Summer transfer window 2017

We have Silva + Kalinic now. We just need that icing on the cake. A world-class LW or CF with another v.good mezzala.

As far as I remember Gilardino was 23 when he joined. He had a couple of seasons as a Serie A profile under his belt, and the only reason why he failed is because he just wasn’t very good. He had a good stint at Parma, but that was the only period in his career where he was prolific. He was mediocre at any other place he went, - before and after.

Pato’s story is different and mostly down to us no handling him well physically IMO. If we had let him grow, in mind and stature instead of throwing him into the deep end from the beginning, he might have had a much more prosperous career. But Pato’s psyche wasn’t strong, I remember him crying in the showers after the Tottenham match in 2011, so even as a mature player he was frail.

Cutrone looks like a player with an incredible thirst for succes here at Milan, and I am very glad if he ends up staying.
We don’t need a WC striker, that would reckless when we have already spent €65-68M on strikers this summer. At this point it is clear that Montella favours the 4-3-3, so what is left of budget should be spent on a midfielder and a left wing, - that is where we need reinforcements.

I missed it. What sort of look was it?
Inter want Suso?

When you look at Locatelli, Donnarumma, Calabria, they don't seem to suffer too much from the pressure of our club as they have been in this environment and this club for several years. The same could happen for Cutrone, and he looks like an animal on the pitch wanting to eat his opponents and prove he deserves to wear this Milan shirt.

I'd give him a chance as a consequence. The mistake IMO is to take Kalinic.

True that his case is not like Pato or Gilardino.. but his case also isn't like Locatelli - Donnarumma - Calabria either. Those guys were eased into the lineup at a time were there was no pressure to perform and our squad was crap. We've currently invested 230m because we want immediate results, and thats why Kalinic is a much better option than Cutrone. He gives us options, and understands how to move in & out of the box, with & without the ball, has plenty of experience after playing in several different competitions in Europe and is at the right age in his career to deliver right now and not in 5 years. We already bought Andre Silva and he's going to be our young promising striker who we're going to gamble on. Kalinic can be our Tomasson. Now lets see what else the have in store for us for attack.

If you like Cutrone now without him getting experience, imagine how good he'll be after getting 25-30 games in Serie A then coming back. There's no way he'll get that many games here at Milan this year. He needs game time to mature and we cannot afford to give him that this season - that is the bottom line here.

I cant agree/disagree on Kalinic yet until I see how the mercato ends. Let's see how much money is left and how they decided to spend it. However at this moment in time, I think an experienced Serie A striker was really needed. The price of 25m is expensive, but if that's what we're spending on bench material then we must be very ambitious. I do not think Kalinic was brought to be a starter.. do you?
I think kalinic is at the same quality as jdt used to be, and he can easily be a starter here, but i still prefer silva and cutrone over him tbh.

My problem with a loan in Crotone for example is exactly the reason why you think we should send him on loan actually (that's funny, one reason gives two opposed opinions) : there is not much pressure there, and he would play in a side without too much talent and who's going to battle to keep its place in Serie A. I feel that won't help him to grow to be Milan material. With us, he will improve of course, will have high confidence because we keep him and he will feel like a wanted player, someone the coach trusts, and then, given he seems to have the same winning mentality as Lapadula but with a much better future ahead and more talent, alongside better players, he should get enough time on the pitch to grow.

I don't think we're going to get the so called big striker, so the guy should get playing time in the Italian Cup, small games of Serie A and when we need to send 2 strikers on the pitch. And who knows about Europa League, depending on who will be our opponents (probably no need to put the best team in each game in the group stage).
One should not speak ill of the dead.
So stop laughing at Juventus !
About Suso, sell him only for 40+M offers, and if it's Inter, 70+M ... Big Grin

Yes I am absolutely certain that Kalinic was bought to be a starter / used very frequently from the start. The way the club is teasing his arrival on social media even before the medical means that they see him as a big deal. I am 99% sure that we won’t sign a big name striker. We have André Silva, who needs time to adapt, and in the meantime we have Kalinic who can give us 15-20 goals this season with enough gametime.

There isn’t enough money for a star striker at €60M-€70M + a winger at €30M-€35M and an midfielder at €30M+ as well.

I might be wrong but I’d be very (pleasantly) surprised to see us splash a big sum on Aubameyang or Belotti at this point.
Interested Lazio for Niang and Paletta ..Keita inside the negotiation.
