Lazio - Milan: Player Ratings
#1
Donnarumma 7.5
Abate 6.5
Zapata 7
RR 6.5
Calabria 7
Borini 6
Kessie 7
Bakayoko 6.5
Calhanoglu 5
Suso 6
Cutrone 6.5

Gattuso 3 (a draw in these circumstances away to Lazio is not a disaster. But we had the 3 points in hand and 3 subs to make. We didn't make them in normal time, but should have made them in stoppage time to disrupt Lazio's pressure which was immense and kept giving them corners. The only player capable of making substitutions was Gattuso and he didn't do it. It seems that he doesn't have the balls to make certain decisions during high pressure situations. I was screaming at the TV to make a sub, yet none came. The players could have used those 30 secs to take their breath and reorganize. Instead, Lazio kept coming. )

Donnarumma 8 - very important saves
Abate 6 - good defensively but throws away possession he's bad on the ball
Zapata 8 - very sound performance
RR 7 - another sound performance
Calabria 7 - glad to see him back, gets in behind and makes good runs
Borini 3 - absolutely atrocious. I don't care about work horse players, players with such a minimal level of skill shouldn't be playing for Milan.
Kessie 6.5 - good goal, average performance
Bakayoko 7 - improvements very good recovering the ball
Calhanoglu 4 - terrible, wasted two golden opportunities and ineffective otherwise
Suso 7 - took his man when he could, tried his best and put in a delicious ball over the defense for calabria which lead to the goal
Cutrone 4 - I'm doubting his place at Milan. Inzaghi lacked technical skills in a big way, but that's why there's only one Inzaghi. I'll get a lot of slack, but I don't think he has Inzaghi's gift and again, being a workhorse isn't the only thing that should keep you at Milan. He lacks technical skills badly. He could be a good goal scorer and develop that part of his game, but to give him a place in this team at the cost of not bringing in someone capable of immediate impact is damaging to this club. He's not ready, he needs to accept minimal playing time or go out on loan.

Imo everyone deserved a 7.5 yesterday except 3 players.. maybe an 8 for donnaruma (m.o.m for us) zapata would have gotten an 8 and mom for us too if his header at that lazio goal was a better clearance..

Borini  3 : other than his good work rate.. this guy is atrocious on the ball, the highlight was when he tried to do a backflick pass to a teammate long gone and it went straight to an opponent in the 2nd half.. somewhere at the 70min plus mark onwards..

Hakan  4 : has 2 glorious opportunities but wasted them both.. highlight miss was when his dummy took him into the box but when he had abit of space, he took another wasteful touch instead of just shooting..

Cutrone  5 : ineffective this game.. worked kinda hard but nothing productive to show for..not rrally his fault as he is surrounded by borini (technically rubbish player) and hakan (low confidence and totally out of form). Not really a difference maker in tight games. Like Higuain (drops back to playmake) or Zlatan.. he is still very good just not a game winning or game changing player.. he is more of a late goal specialist..
