That's strange, considering that Rui Costa was playing under Terim at Fiorentina.

- Rui Costa: 37 M
- Pippo: 32.5 M
- Pirlo, Javi Moreno & Donati: 13-15M each
- Lausen, Umit Davala, Kutuzov & Contra: 2-6M each
I still remembered some great matches with him as head coach: 4-2 against Lazio and 4-1 against Inter. But our performance in general was poor and we can't compete for the 4th spot. He was fired quite early, but it was fair and Ancelotti was exactly the better choice.
Neither game happened. You must be confusing them with 5-2 Fiorentina and 4-2 Inter. Here is the complete list of our Serie A matches under Terim:
1 Brescia 2–2 Milan
Tare 36', 40' Brocchi 50'
Shevchenko 63' (pen.)
2 Milan 5–2 Fiorentina
Shevchenko 16', 52'
Laursen 40'
Inzaghi 45'
Serginho 78' Chiesa 18', 58'
3 Udinese 1–2 Milan
Muzzi 74' Shevchenko 14'
Inzaghi 54'
4 Milan 2–0 Lazio
Inzaghi 41'
Laursen 56'
5 Perugia 3–1 Milan
Bazzani 57'
Tedesco 75'
Vryzas 78' Kaladze 67'
6 Milan 1–1 Venezia
Shevchenko 43' Bazzani 61'
7 Internazionale 2–4 Milan
Ventola 13'
Kallon 90' Shevchenko 59', 77'
Contra 61'
Inzaghi 66'
8 Milan 0–0 Bologna
9 Torino 1–0 Milan
I believe that Inzaghi missed a penalty kick 2 minutes before the game, and that in a way killed Terim's Milan career.

You are right. I believe that Milan thought Ancelotti would not be available when they hired Terim, but as soon as Ancelotti became free, they just needed an excuse to send Terim packing.
