I'm amazed there isn't a thread already about this.
Anyway, Channel 4 has stated that Milan could well be in for tevez.
If this is true, then I say GET HIM!! I have absoloutly no doubt in my mind that he has the ability to be huge in Italy and having him, Sheva and Kaka up front our strikeforce would be nigh unstoppable.
I don't like him....but I have to admit the kid has talent. I don't see him coming to Milan, but nothing is impossible.
Tevez invites Milan offer
Boca Juniors starlet Carlos Tevez is sparking off a bidding war after confirming he’ll leave in June, but three Serie A clubs face stiff competition.
“There are several teams showing an interest,” revealed his agent Roberto Tesone on ‘Radio Efe’, “such as Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich, PSV Eindhoven and a couple of Italian clubs that have had persistent contact with us.”
Although the sides have not been named, it’s believed they are Milan, Fiorentina, Palermo and possibly Inter.
20-year-old Tevez confirmed his undoubted talents when his goals took Argentina to the gold medal at the Athens Olympics in August, while his Boca side also got the better of Milan in the Intercontinental Cup last year.
“His preference at the moment is for Atletico Madrid and we are doing what we can to ensure he gets his choice,” added the agent, “but in any case he will make his decision in December.”
This could play into the Serie A side’s hands, as Atletico are struggling financially and have so far only offered half of Boca Juniors’ £14m asking price.
Fiorentina and Palermo are bank-rolled by rich Presidents Diego Della Valle and Maurizio Zamparini, while Milan would be willing to splash out on this young talent following the persistent injury worries of Pippo Inzaghi and Hernan Crespo.
Tevez would form a devastating partnership with Andriy Shevchenko and give the player an immediate leg up into Champions’ League football.
He has major talent! I say we get him too. :whie:

y would he consider A.madrid?..torres is his good friend or what? the news doesnt seem favourable to us...but if he is only worth 14 million, then what can i say...GO FOR IT!!!!!
I dont remember a time where there has been so many young gifted players. the list is just soo long :zany:
can he also play as a play maker?
I dont remember a time where there has been so many young gifted players. the list is just soo long
this is so true. but i'm not so sure if there are really so much more talents or there is just so much more talk and news about them.
but if he is only worth 14 million
its 14 million pounds which is 20 million euros. not that cheap.
i have only seen him twice at the olympics where he played good (nice goal against italy) but there where no real opponents so that's why i don't really count that
Nevermind...Atletico already made the deal. They're probably gonna end up wit him...anywayz who knows if this is true in the first place? Did Milan say they wanted him?
Rumours are..Inter wants him too now.
atletico owe us 23 millioon. dun forget that
hahaha so that means that Tevez will come to Milano form Buenos Aires via Madrid lol :D
If we sign Tevez it will be fantastic upfront SHEVA + Tevez=Milan Champion!!! :nail:

As planned, Inter gets Tevez, and then swapped Adriano with us. :greed:

So maybe that means...that we will end with Torres!!!
:)
Tevez was great in the Olympics, and i find him very talented...but its difficult to splash all that money...its not a priority for us...
Lets see..we have 3 more months till january, so we will hear many names...

I would much rather have Tevez than Torres at this point in time
What's the news on Robinho? I heard Milan were going for him as well. I hope we get either him or Tevez.
According to some Argentinians Tevez have attitude problems ATM. He is acting a bit spoiled and since on of his strenght is his winning mentality that could pose a problem. The thing is that he could lose his drive and will to win if he feels content with what he got, maybe he just wanted to get his pay and then will party that up. We will see, for football we can hope that is not true.
Beter have Tevez than Torres though I can`t say that Toores isn`t a good player! :googly: :p1511: :pp18:
robinho is chelsea's, singing for £10m i think
coming in january
sometimes I think that Atletico can be my beloved team in Espana...cuz I do not have there any... I am against real...
so if Tevez and Torres remain in their sqaud I could do that...:D

Seems reasonable. They really need a few more players... :rollani:

They are loaning him to Benfica for a year or 2, just like they did with Alex at PSV.

Is their masterplan to pay the wages to all players in the world? :D

What do you think? :smileani:
They just wrote off a whopping £15.8m off their accounts!
Imagine seeing any organisation writing off that amount on just ONE asset alone! :eekani:

certainly seems that way :D
Apparently Robinho wants to join PSV because of Romario and Ronaldo's success there. Chelsea were happy about it as PSV are part of their "football family" too
They just wrote off a whopping £15.8m off their accounts!
i had heard that they were considering keeping him and paying him in full  he was Abramovich's son's favourite player and that was nearly enough to save him....

If it is Mutu you talk about, then they earned money on it. Otherwise they would have to pay wages to a suspended player.
hes being an ******* towards them lately... thats what i think!
If it is Mutu you talk about, then they earned money on it. Otherwise they would have to pay wages to a suspended player.
Not quite... The way football clubs are being run like business corporations nowadays, I'll illustrate using a business example:
Mutu costed Chelsea £15.8m when he was purchased a year ago from Parma.
He signed a 5(?) year contract.
From an accounting viewpoint, lets treat that as a purchase of a "fixed asset" valued at £15.8m, to be depreciated over 5 years. For simplicity, I'll use a straight line depreciation over 5 years, ie Mutu's "value" decreases by £3.16m annually.
He has completed a season with them, with 4 more to go, which means a remaning book value of £12.64m. When he was sacked by Chelsea, Chelsea will have to write off £12.64m from their total assets in the balance sheet! (Imagine the CEO of any corporation approving that amount to be written off! :eekani: )
His wages as you mentioned, will be treated as an expense in this case, and expenses will relate more to Chelsea's profit & loss, and not the asset value in the balance sheet for the club. According to reports, Mutu apparently earns £60k per week, multiply that by 52 weeks & 4 years, will be £12.48m assuming he sees out his contract.
IIRC, when a football club sacks a manager or player, the club has to pay them some compensation in view of the early termination of their contract. Assuming that the compensation amount is 50% (though I think it maybe higher), Chelsea will have to pay Mutu £6.24m for his early termination.
Let's assume now that Mutu will be suspended for a year, and if he's still on Chelsea's payroll, that'll mean having to pay him £3.12m while he's serving his ban, though I think football clubs may have an option to suspend a player's wages if he is suspended due to drug abuse.
An annual salary of £3.12m for a player serving his ban vs a £12.64m "bad debt" PLUS £6.24m in early termination of a player's contract... You can do the maths yourself. :grinser:
Rather than just terminating his contract, it makes more business sense to keep Mutu on the payroll, and then recoup partial losses by selling him at a discounted price to another club once his suspension is over. I'm pretty sure that will be a string of clubs waiting to sign him after his ban.
It's not so great news for the investors and shareholders if a corporation has to write off £12.64m as bad debts on ONE asset alone. The good news for Abramovich though, is that there will be tax benefits for his £12.64m bad debt written off. :devf:

I never heard before..
this is so true. but i'm not so sure if there are really so much more talents or there is just so much more talk and news about them.
absolutely. Plus whilst it's true there is a plethora of young talents, there also seems to be a plethora of flops arriving in europe. Riquelme, D'Alessandro, Saviola, Kleberson, Forlan. And Burdisso isn't meant to be playing too well at Inter (besides one game). Diego and Fabiano where kinda duff when I watched Porto. It seems to me the only real talent to come out of south america is Kaka. as for the european ones: where have Sychev, Maccarone, Krancjar, Viana, Quaresemo etc etc. all gone? generally they didn't really look that good and have drifted out of the public eye and are playing for random teams dotted about europe. hell even Van der Vaart, once the next maradona is being unsurped by Sneijder now. There is waaaaay to much hype being thrown about these days.
as for the mutu thing, it's a terrible shame. he had real talent and showed that at parma, to bad he saw dollar signs when chelsea came calling. had he kept his nose clean(literally :D) when he wasn't playing at chelsea they would have surely sold him over january and a big team would probably been willing to take a risk as they would have sold him for 4-5m due to bust ups and the desperation to get him. I think he would be fabulous at Barca. now no way though, he may even have to go back to Romania or somewhere in eastern europe. no big team is gonna want him now, I know i would have loved him here at the beginning of the season over Crespo but not now.

Wenger has expressed an interest
I suppose when he has served his ban he starts again with a clean slate and hopefully he'll be a lot smarter too. He'd probably be better off not stayin in England though...
I have never seen Tevez play so I dunno how good he is.
I have never seen too!!! :pr78:
I have seen him last season in intercontinental cup final agaist us, also during Copa Libertadores 2003 final against Santos. Believe me, there is more worth to buy him 20 mio then Dinho 200 mio.
tevez is super... i saw him alot of times... with argentina and boca

For those who haven't seen him...he's fairly small but built like a tank, extremely hard working and has a great shot. Technically, he's brilliant (as is much of the young Argentina) and quick. I don't think his heading is great or his creativity, but he has all the qualities to be excellent in serie A
Stezagud

i agree with that description of him, though i've only really got the olympics to go on.

i have neva seen him play b4 either..but i read from the World Soccer magazine and it said 1st-ly , he is used to play near the goal (hardly seen tt in Serie A) and loves ground passes (famous in the argentine league) instead of high balls (for obvious reasons :D) which is incessant in Serie A...2nd-ly...Tevez may not be suited for the kind of refereeing in Serie A which involves alot of physical whereas in Argentina, a slight push n he would expect a foul to b called....
however like all living things who wish to survive..he has to learn how to adapt...soo hopefully his speed and killer instinct will more than make up for his intolerence on poor refereeing and launching balls from Pirlo... :grinser:
hes one of those player that u will 99% settle in without ease!
So let`s get him now in January!

Dave, Tevez is an outstanding player - very few like him in world football - but he won't help us in the short term. Boca Juniors offered him some time off and he came to Rio de Janeiro to relax. It was a controversial issue in Argentina, because the team is only in the 10th place in national championship and he was enjoying the beaches here in Brazil.
The club did that because he played 53 matches this year and took part in the NT who was in Copa América and the Olympics. Last June he didn't had a vacation and they probably remember what happened to Ayala (Valencia), who, like Tevez, served the NT for almost 90 consecutive days.
I'm not sure, but I think his first game after this strange vacation for a player was last Wednesday, against Cerro Porteño, for South American Cup.
Although I love Gilardino, Kaká/Tevez/Sheva would be lethal to the defences not only in Italy, but Europe as well.
Boca Junior's spokeman said that Tevez will leave the club until June 2005.
Also, Abramovich was in Argentina this week and guess what? He travel to Buenos Aires in order to sign Tevez :nervous:
This is according to newspaper OLE:

I read an article on www.vi.nl, to be short the content says that Tevez is showing cassano-behaviour. He seems to have lost track of the real world, being overweight, making trips to brazil, new girlfriend, new manager, big mouth against his team mates and the fans. Boca haven't even won one match of their last eight. Not the kind of material you would want at Milan.

It's true, Youssof. Unfortunately, Argentina and South America become too little to Tevez. He won everything here (Apertura, Clausura, Libertadores) but Copa América and his talent need another challenge.
Believe me when I say he is a fantastic player. But I think Galliani/Braida will choose Gilardino and, later, Torres.

Well, shame to hear about Tevez's attitude
Why not give him to Atletico and get Torres in the winter?
It would be wise not 2 get Tevez at all!!!!!
News is out that his ex-girlfriend is expecting their child and he is with another woman.Does this sound familiar?Players like Mutu,Cassano,George Best,Gasgoine(not sure about the spelling),Collymore and Maradonna had immense talent>But their careers were destroyed due 2 their behaviour off the pitch.Tevez seems 2 be heading for that category.
Milan should focus on getting Gilardino
I like the bad boys in football as long as they are capable of backing up their big mouth with good performances on the pitch. That said I believe only Maradonna realy did that.

Now Tevez follow the footstep of the great Pele to become another legend who will never play for any clubs in Europe for his entire career. :pr115:
IF we don`t sign Tevez it won`t ne bad we can also sign Gilla Torres and other players so........
Sad to hear about his attitude problem, he was one of my favourite players. Fantastic player. Well, i hope he goes to Europe eventually, i want to see him in action as i don't get South America football.
"IMPOSSIBLE is NOTHING"...but to be honest, as someone said before, we don't need him to conquer Europe or other titles!
MILAN AC is GREAT now, buying other players many other problems will come out.
Mr.ANCELOTTI will go crazy 100% with his choices!!!

An Iranian? Seems like more and more tycoons come to the real world to play CM. If 20 of them come to Europe, G14 will be G40 in the next ten years.
