...... which is Kaka, by the way. Anyhow, just thought I'd type this out for all you Milanistas. I don't know if it's been posted before but what the hell. Too much of kaka is never bad.

You have signed a five-year deal with Milan. It seems like you're extremely happy at the club...

I'm pleased because I have renewed my contract with Milan until 2009. After just a year here, I already feel this red and black shirt is mine and I feel at home in this city. Eeryday when I get up, I'm happy about the chances God has given me. I like going to Milanello. Just think that during the summer I really missed playing. Being back with my teammates fills me with joy.

It's a big-money contract and you're a high profile player. Is it difficult to keep your feet on the ground?

The fact that I'm a footballer and that I earn lots of money is a privilege few people have. And for this reason I always thank God for saving me from the difficult moments we all go through in life. I got baptised when I was twelve years old and a few years later I had confirmation of what His presence in my life means. In October 2000 I went to visit my grandparents and I went to play in a swimming pool. I fell awkwardly off the diving board and hit my head on the bottom of the pool. A few days later the doctors told me I should consider myself lucky and that a miracle happened. I had fractured my sixth vertebrate and I could have been paralysed. Luckily, two days' rest was enough to recover. I have never forgotten what happened. Since that moment I have always looked to God, both in good and bad moments.

On the subject of religion, everyone remembers the Brazilian players hand in hand, praying before and after the matches at the 2002 World Cup...

Myself, Lucio, Edmilson, Roberto Carlos, Junior and Denilson read the Bible together and we gave one another strength in one of the hotel rooms. Then we prayed on the pitch, whih also happened in the final. The strength of that gesture is still engraved in my mind.

From Brazil to AC Milan. How do you get on with striking partner Andriy Shevchenko and the rest of your teammates?

Andriy has been a great help to me. He's a great champion on and off the pitch. "Don't touch Kaka," he said at a press conference when journalists asked about my form. I thank Sheva. He's always giving me advice and he also gives me precious tips so I don't make the mistakes he made in the past. He's like a brother to me and he deserves to win the European Player of the Year award. I'm disappointed he didn't manage to win it last time around, but he will have more chances to show he's worthy of carrying off the award. As far as the rest of my teammates are concerned, I'd be a liar if I said things aren't like I want them to be. They're all brilliant with me and are always close to me. Even the new arrivals have forged a good bond with me. Crespo is a really nice person and he makes me laugh with his great jokes. Dhorasoo has had a few problems with the language and he's a bit shy because of this. I get on so well I hope to extend my contract even beyond 2009, which I signed the other week.

And Ancelotti?

He's a master and an exquisite person. I have to thank him because if I did so well in my first year in Italy, it's thanks to his presence. His role in creating a good atmosphere within the squad has been fundamental, and I always find him an easy person to talk to.

You won the Serie A title at your first attempt. What's your goal for this season?

I have to be honest so I have to say that winning the Scudetto in my first year in the Italian Championship was something incredible. But the Champions League is special and winning it is my main goal this season. I will do everything I can to make sure I arrive at the finishing post with my arms raised. Being first in Europe and having the chance to play at the Intercontinental Cup is somethign unrivalled in football. I'm not in a hurry, and by saying this I mean that if things don't go well this season I wouldn't make an issue out of it. It wouldn't be a drama. But I should add that my main wish is to win the Champions League. If I could make a wish for my career, there would be no doubt what I would ask for.

Your form against Livorno on the opening day of the season was criticized. But then you broke your duck with a well-taken goal at Bologna...

I wasn't managing to score but it didn't worry me, though it wasn't easy when everyone's watching you. Last season I had to wait for the derby until I scored my first goal in a Milan shirt. That was in round five and this year it came in round two. It came sooner this year. But I don't want to create any illusions. After last season, it will obviously be a lot more difficult for me this year. The other teams' defenders know me now and they know how to oppose me.

Let's talk about the squad. Galliani nicknamed you The Wonder Boy after you won the scudetto last season. Do you have what it takes to repeat your success this year?

Just look at the team we have and how many class players there are. It is our duty to aim to win every competition we take part in. There are no choices because we are Milan and we want to become the strongest team in the world. So we have to show this on the pitch. The only way to be the best is to keep winning. I have no doubts, MIlan's strength is in the squad. We are united, we are all friends, there's a good team spirit and a winning attitude. It's with all these qualities that we won the scudetto last season, breaking a lot of records. And we start this season with the same qualities. In football you can't rely on individuals, otherwise you risk winning nothing.

Your younger brother Rodrigo is playing for the AC Milan academy. How's he doing?

I'd like to play with him in the future. But the most important thing is that he is here in Milan. He will be able to learn a great deal heere seeing as he'll have a legend like Franco Baresi coaching him. And he'll be able to learn a lot from players like Nesta, Maldini and Stam. I think that sooner or later my brother will move to another team to gain experience, but I hope I can play with him in the not-too-distant future.

When you're not terrorising Serie A defences, what do you like doing in your free time?

Apart from playing football, I like playing tennis. I also like playing videogames, going to the cinema and making home movies. I like listening to music and my favourite singer is Aline Barros.

Do you have a girlfriend I HATE THIS QUESTION CAROLINE PLEASE BURN IN HELL

Yes. She's called Caroline Celico. She's a splendid Brazilian girl. I think your ideal girl is sent to you from God.

Do you have any nicknames?

Quite a few. Ronaldo calles me "Kakito". My female admirers call me "aninho", which means little angel. And the BRazilian journalists call me "O queridinho da galera", which means the most loved one in the squad.
