In the early minutes both teams have started to try and attack, but so far nothing concrete has come

FORZA MILAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ACMILAN1983
10-11-2004, 15:16
Rui Costa has been our most active player so far and almost got Seedorf through. still 0-0

FORZA MILAN!!!!!

our attacking line up is good to see

ACMILAN1983
10-11-2004, 15:18
For those interested, Fiorentina seem to be dominating Juve in the early stages with the ex-Juve boys causing problems.

Brescia just had a great chance to take the lead, but Caracciolo spurns it

FORZA MILAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How is the team playing this: 4-3-2-1 or 4-3-1-2 with Kaka as secunda punta?

ACMILAN1983
10-11-2004, 15:21
How is the team playing this: 4-3-2-1 or 4-3-1-2 with Kaka as secunda punta?

Difficult to say as Kaka drifts forward, but to me it would seem 4-3-2-1, with Kaka pushing forward a lot to suppot Crespo

FORZA MILAN!!!!!!!!!!!!

Henrik
10-11-2004, 15:22
Brescia-Milan 8' Seedorf with a great ball into the box...FINDS KAKA IN SPACE! But the Brazilian uncharacteristically miscontrols and the chance goes...

Lombardia
10-11-2004, 15:22
i'm gald tomasson is on the bench, he normally scores when he comes off it!

forza milan!

Henrik
10-11-2004, 15:22
Dev, your watching the game?

Henrik
10-11-2004, 15:23
Brescia-Milan 13' CARACCIOLO THROUGH ON GOAL! ONLY DIDA TO BEAT! SHOOTS! BUT THE MILAN KEEPER WITH FANTASTIC REACTIONS TO PUSH THE BALL ONTO THE POST...and deserves a slice of luck as the ball ricochets to safety.

ACMILAN1983
10-11-2004, 15:23
Rui pushed forward as Kaka waits for the pass, but Dallamano anticipates well

FORZA MILAN!!!!!

ACMILAN1983
10-11-2004, 15:25
Dev, your watching the game?
nah, couldn't find a place to see it. Thats why I'm unsure about Kaka's role, but I'm keeping updated on the match

Fairly even so far.

FORZA MILAN!!!!!!!!!!

ACMILAN1983
10-11-2004, 15:28
In the other matches...Juve and Fio match seems to be quite dirty with a lot of cards.

In the Inter match, Veron is injured and can't continue

Nothing new in our match

FORZA MILAN!!!!!!!!

ACMILAN1983
10-11-2004, 15:30
Rui almost scores from a free kick. Rui and Kaka definately seem our most dangerous players so far

FORZA MILAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

edit: sorry, not a freekick, he created space for himself and shot, but it was saved

CuoreRossoNero
10-11-2004, 15:32
30 minutes gone and not 1 goal has been scored in any of the games. Very weird

ACMILAN1983
10-11-2004, 15:36
so far Milan have dominated possession, with Brescia defending stoutly and making things hard for us and they've had the odd chance.

Still nothing special to note beyond the Brescia chance off the post and Rui's shot

FORZA MILAN!!!!!!!!!

FORZA MILAN!!!!!!

ACMILAN1983
10-11-2004, 15:41
Brocchi crosses low from the right for Crespo, but Di Biagio anticipates it and sends it out for a corner..

Crespo tries to get in on the corner but nothing comes from it

FORZA MILAN!!!!!!!!

ACMILAN1983
10-11-2004, 15:43
Milan builds play on the right resulting in a Cafu cross, but Castellazzi stops it.

FORZA MILAN!!!!!!!!!!!

Mihajlovic scores

really slow day for SerieA so far

FORZA MILAN!!!!!!!

ACMILAN1983
10-11-2004, 15:48
Kaka does well on the left with a shot/cross that Crespo can't quite get to

FORZA MILAN!!!!!!!!!!!!

10-11-2004, 15:49
OK I am back, guess I didn't miss much :)

ACMILAN1983
10-11-2004, 15:51
This time Rui has a go with his left, but nothing comes from it.

Were getting better as the half goes on, but things are still a little dull

FORZA MILAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lombardia
10-11-2004, 15:51

Lombardia
10-11-2004, 15:52

ACMILAN1983
10-11-2004, 15:54
In other matches, Juve are now dominating, Inter have taken the lead and Livorno just scored against Lazio

HT in our match, we look to be struggling in creating chances and it seems quite dull today. Hopefully, we'll really pick up in 2nd half.

FORZA MILAN!!!!!!!

ps - Udinese just took lead against Roma

Henrik
10-11-2004, 15:54
Sounds like there were some good scoring opportunities going both ways.
Don't worry though, Milan allways plays better in the second half (if we are not allready in the lead :() :)

BG1
10-11-2004, 15:55
Udinese scored against Roma as well.

Henrik
10-11-2004, 16:03
4 goals in 9 games so far, that's pretty tame. My bet is that Milan will score that many alone in the second half, one each from Seedorf, Kaka, Rui and Crespo ;)

Lombardia
10-11-2004, 16:07
nah don't be silly henrik, we'll double that, with goal from crespo, tomasson, seedorf, kaka, dida, henrik 2, gattuso

Nadir
10-11-2004, 16:18
and milan will dominate so much, they will be confident enough to put gattuso in goal, take dida out and make him a striker and the final result will show dida scored a hat-trick in the second half!

ok- reality check. milan suffer horribly if shevchenko is not playing.

Henrik
10-11-2004, 16:18

As predicted Inter have evened their game by letting Bologna score

ACMILAN1983
10-11-2004, 16:19
right, second half has begun

Seedorf had a great opportunity from a Pirlo corner but no goal

We must be more aggressive going forward.

well if you're only going to buy 1 world class central midfielder, he's not going to be able to do it if you send the rest of our midfielders to the bench. Why not buy a whole load of world class central midfielders to keep him company ?

ACMILAN1983

Now i want to know where are those who stated if we play good we can score with average players

Plus i want to know where are those who stated to give Crespo time..let's give him all the time he wants, plus we mustn't bother Inzaghi with shadows on his role at Milan, we must not annoy him with the signing of a striker...

i want to know who cares about my 200 euros spent on a season ticket + countless moneys to go there to watch milna-messina or milan-roma 1-1 with a team everyone, even sanbenedettese, has defeated this year

al this because it's USELESS TO SIGN A PROPER STRIKER

Lombardia
10-11-2004, 17:04
i honestly am not that bothered by this result, take a look at the upcoming fixtures, and you'll see that juve have got all the hard teams to come, inter, parma, lecce and bologna away and then us and lazio at home. us on the other hand have got relatively easy matches agaisnt siena(h), chievo(a), parma(h), fiornetina (h).within the next few weeks don't be surprised to see us at the top of the heap

Bayman
10-11-2004, 17:05

I'm saying this for 2 years now. We were ONLY carried by our central defense (including Dida) and Pippo/Kaka/Sheva at different times + Cafu last season.
The rest of the team ranges from average to good.
Hell I even think that Udineses Jankulovski and Pizarro are better than any of ours in their repective positions (except Cafu).

about Inzaghi ... i really want him at milan , but it seems that milan's loyalty to inzaghi is killing us now

Nadir
10-11-2004, 17:09
galliani should realise shevchenko is our only forward that is scoring goals and he should get another striker in january that can score with any consistency. milan always had at least two strikers who could score consistently - like simone and massaro, or weah and massaro, or or or or.... u get the point.

Giovanni
10-11-2004, 17:10
why we must be chelsea's hospital? why? are we poor or something? why must we have other's rejects? because they are bargains.
Now i tell you that my moneys are in Festers' pockets, and i WANT the best for this team, not other teams' rejects just to save moneys..

it's an announced failure..it's 3 weeks i alert: without sheva we won't go anywhere..we can win one match, two, but hardly will make something important

and what i hear: WE WON'T COME BACK ON THE MARKET ..

Yeah creating: passing, ball distributing and ball distributing.
What about running, combining, DISTANCE SHOOTING and going for the goal themselves?
Today a certain Oliveira scored for Juve, not a striker.
Our midfielders can't score, can't shoot and can barely put in a decent cross.

I didn't watch the game. But by all reports rui Costa was playing well, so I don't understand why he was taken off. It can't be to preserve him because he never plays. I love Carlo but he's done some suspect moves in the last 3 games.

Let's try to look on the bright side. We are only 6 points back, we'll make those up in our 2 games against Juve.

i didn't get to watch the game, the online video stream was like slide show every 3 minutes.. was kaka really bad? if so, i hope that ancelotti has the guts to bench him for a while. nobody should play unless mentally and physically prepared.

crespo and jdt really kills me. i always think that they will shine. but the day just hasn't arrived yet. my confidence is weakening. i just hope that sheva can come back as soon as possible. he is the only person that delivers. damn it. how could our attacking become such a headache? :(

i am quite sad, but i believe that juventus won't beat us in the race. our good days are awaiting. juventus has nobody but buffon and capello. they concern me, but i am not very worried. or at least not now, i will not give in until the last minute. i am always like that. every year, i didn't give in until mathematically we couldn't win. and now we have a strong squad, and the season is young, i will surely hold on to my hope.

so dhorasoo played well? good to hear that. we should have given him more chances. now the italian cup is coming up, nobody should complain, everybody will be given some time.

I want a new striker for christmas. milan cannot realistically expect to score more than 1 goal without Sheva or Inzaghi. even if we had of one this, it would have been through a bit of luck.

I think Carlo's decisions have been fine, he needs to have some capable players though. mind you he wanted Crespo.

to be fair to bayman he always says those things when we win lose or draw, he's entitled to his opinion, but i think its plain rubbish

:grinser: :grinser: :grinser: :haha: :haha: :haha:

I don't know why, but I just found that post hilarious, probably because it says "to be fair to Bayman" and the only positive thing in there toward the guy is "he's entitled to his opinion".

Xudong, Kaka was probably one of most effective players along with Rui today.

About the match, I'll give credit to Brescia who were very difficult to break down. The team didn't do too badly today, but really lacked the finishing touch. I guess we can describe it like we were a knife without the sharp edge.

Crespo was invisible during the match, while JDT was ok after coming on, however, no one in the side seemed like they would really score.

I'm really tired of hearing these calls for new signings in January. I've asked this in another thread, but to those who keep calling for new players, what do we do until January???

Theres no point in signing a new player if its too late to make a difference.

Anyway, clearly the side needs to work urgently on having that slight "brilliance" (as Ancelotti put it) or "sharpness" to what is often otherwise reasonable play considering the point of the season.

Also, nice to see Dhorasoo do ok, as I've said everytime people have said he's not Milan quality that its unlikely his lack of playing time is due to his abilty.

were only 6 points behind and its still early, comments like "no scudetto this year" are just plain idiotic. NEVER give up till theres no other choice.

REGULAR goal production from the mid. is never a guarantee no matter who is on the team even if you show me previous teams (with lots of 'scoring' mids) that have done it in my opinion its only 50-50 that they can continue it regularly, I am talking about over a long term which is what I hope we are talking about.
Creating is another thing and should be the first requirement for 'offensive' mids.

Good performances by Seedorf, Brocchi and Tomasson, Dhorasoo when they entered; I was surprised by the Frenchman - very good control, a technical player.

Kaka' and Crespo are so far away from their best form, I honestly can't comprehend with the fact that the Argentine was preferred to Tomasson as the lone striker. The Dane, although far from his best, at least plays for the team and is capable of getting to goalscoring chances. He did more in 20 minutes than the selfish, inefficient Crespo did in 90.

It has to be said, nearly impossible to play a decent style of football on that pitch, though.

Taken of XT as an reply to someone that said Pirlo should be blamed and that Kaka at least runs...
________________________________

Please, Pirlo is the most blamed player around and he do his job and I fail to see all those wasted passes that people talk about. Or does everyone here watch crappy internet videolinks where you can't distinguish the players from each other. Pirlo against Brescia didn't move much, but that is not his role. His biggest problem yesterday was that both Seedorf and moreso Brocchi wanted his role and position several times. I could see them all stand within acouple of meters and Brocchi being the one that tried to distribute balls. Brocchi did that awfully by the way, so if anyone want to say that Pirlo played some bad long balls it may very well have been Brocchi...

and talk about Kaka or anyone running. I wonder how do you know or do you only count the 5 times per game when he make a run with the ball? the only ones that see how much players REALLY runs are the ones at the stadium. We others have to satisfy with the ones close to the ball and have to guess why the ball seldom reaches our attacking tridente. Is it because they move little? Move in bad ways? Because Brescia have closed all passing areas? Frankly we can't tell from our viewpoint.

Dhorasoo could easily beat a opponent to create space and opportunity and he look really eager to play. I told you so.

Tyge I do not agree with you about Brocchi. He was ok in the first half, but he was not there in the second. He do play good when he runs around the pitch and creates openings in offense. but as I mentioned above he tried to take Pirlos role to often and his passes is simply not good enough. while his defensive work was okay, he did almost nothing on the other half.

someone ought to tell Rui that you should shoot low shots on a slippy field, moreso with close shots against a tall keeper. Now if also someone could tell JDT to chip the keeper, the absolutely best finish on a keeper rushing out and being close. ;)

Juve won 2 more ponits over us.
We need to do few things:
* Improve our home record
* Beat top teams home and away
* Another Scheva like striker or at least some one that keeps trying hard to score. Crespo wants the ball to come to him rather than him fetching the ball.
JDT is inconsistant, can not rely on him on scoring every game.

Anyway, too many games left. But we must win big games.

I still can not beleive we tied to Roma at home where other thrashed them 3 goals away.

Though I am disappointed by Ace-oh-so-concervative-a- lotti's line up, I think with our current striker shortage, he was wise to field only one striker, at least in the opening stages of a tricky away game.

However his selection of Crespo to start, his recent substitutions, and continued exclusion of Dohrasso to me seem to be several mistakes too many, and really, we have our defense and Dida to thank for not losing some of our recent matches.

Kaka is not having a good season so far, as he is getting more attention from defenders, and he is trying "too hard" sometimes, and as such his final touch in goal-scoring situations is poor. He is definately a talent, he just needs to calm down a little bit in front of the goal.

What to me is almost asinine is our reluctance to sign a striker in the Jan window. Pipo will take a while to return to form after he recovers from the surgery, and as we have seen, we tend not to score when Sheva doesnt play. While I dont cry for a new striker every time we draw or lose a game, and do have faith in Crespo (JDT is not Milan quality) I think it would be foolish not to buy at this time.

JDT has had ample opportunity to make his mark, and cant seem to get it going...how many goals has he scored this season? How many did he score last season? While January is still a little ways away, and a purchase then wont help the situation now, what such a plan would do, is to insure against another serious injury to one of our strikers, as well as cover the recuperation time that Pipo will need in order to return to his best.

On the other hand, an attacking, goal scoring midfielder like Totti would be perfect...his team is sh**, they are out of the UCL, and we could use him exclusively for the scudetto, but that is just wishfull thinking on my part. Cassano can keep his pampers and infant formula in Rome, or where ever, just dont come to Milan with them. Ronaldhino is also out of the question as Berlu wont trump up the $s needed, and he wont want to leave Barca who are on the verge of greatness, at least not until the end of the season.

So we are stuck with what we have...and at the rate Galliani et al are operating, we will be stuck with this for the remainder of the season. So, Forza Milan anyway.

Can someone wake me up in May or June? I think I will go to sleep until then, and wake up and this will all be a bad dream.

Though all is not lost at this stage of the season, its not looking very bright either.

Good Post Warro Bantan. the only thing I disagreed with was how you can come to the conclusion that Milan is reluctant to sign a forward in the Jan window. It's only November and I know that the Milan brass are saying we don't need anyone, we are going to wait for Pippo. But don't you think they are saying this because they understand that they are stuck with what they have until January so there is no sense saying that we are going to buy Gilardino (just an example) because our forwards are under performing. If they say this all it does is increase the pressure for Crespo and JDT and could do more damage (even though I don't think it could get any worse). I think Milan has some intelligent people in the organization and they know that Milan needs an attacking solution so unless one of Crespo or JDT explode for goals in the next 2 months expect a forward to be on his way to Milan.

The writing is on the wall for Crespo and JDT, score goals or goodbye!

Well Giovanni, IMO, JDT just hasnt lived up to his billing, while we all knew that Crespo has proven himself at the highest level in Italy. JDT isnt fit? Just when exactly does he intend to get fit? In June?

Crespo on the other hand, is understandably unfit, and can beat any two defenders when he is fit, though I admit to growing impatience with his prolonged recuperation.

Thanks Shevaholic, but indeed, if I am not to believe the Milan brass, then who/what am I to believe? Yes its only Nov, but the machinations of a move (if any) need to commence now, as opposed to Dec 31.

While the increased pressure on the forwards to score is in of itself a burden, while the emminent arrival of yet another to compete for already tight places in the starting 11 could indeed create an untenable situation for Crespo and JDT, it may just serve as a much needed "wake-up call" to our underachieving strikers.

The motivation to gain/regain a starting position and thus ensure peak performance cannot be underestimated.

We are dangerously tending to become "draw artistes" like Inter :yuck: and if we keep up this level of underperformance in the goal scoring area, we run the risk of a rampant Juve strolling off into the sunset with "our" scudetto.

Something has to be done, and quickly. :angf:

Yesterday i was at the stadium to see Brescia - Milan. IT was awesome, my friend was stupid enough to have already bought the tickets so we were in the Curva Sud del Brescia but we could have stayed with the Milanisti.... well who cares, it was awesome.

Oh how it rained!!!! I have never seen so much rain... well actually durin the last days yes i have, but it rained like hell, plys the field was already wet before they played. Then it was freezing cold, you can't expect a good game in a rain like there was in RBescia yesterday. But i had fun. alot
It was awesome to hear it when the BRescia supporters screamed before the game started for Milan, to cheer for them, and there is huge friendship between these two teams. Then they all participated in songs against the other teams, it was pretty funny..

Anyways, not much to say about the game yesterday, other than it wasn't awesome, i think it's terrible if we can't score without Sheva..... maybe we shold make a clone of him.

However i had so much fun even tho there was this extreme rain and cold... and it doesn't hurt staying with good people :D

what good is it to us if Crespo has proven himself in italy ? he needs to prove himself in Milan ... at least Tomasson has done that , scored some crucial goals last season ... and scored a lot of goals to be a sub . i would rather praise JDt then crespo , cause Crespo still has done 0,0 for Milan. So for someone who has proven himself to the highest level according to you , he still has done less then tomasson for us .

hey ..who said Crespo was selffish n unskillful??...he did some pretty 1-2 , managed to wriggle his way out from the defenders and set up a few decent opportunities for our side~..the only disappointing thing is his finishing was let down...direction is off..so is power...but his technical abilities is def still ard...soo i beg just let him play till Jan n if he still cant prove himself...then getting a new striker ain tt late..

Dhorasoo was phenomenal since he came on...he controls the ball well albeit the wet surface and most importantly...his creativity with the ball posed serious problems for Brescia defence late in the match...he is as exciting as Kaka was when he 1st played for Milan...like what alot of people said..Dhorasoo mayb too foreign for our opposition to decide whether to close him down or give him space...therefore this gives Dhor a very gd chance to unleash his skills @ the ignorant defenders :D ..so i feel Dhor should play more often...either on the right for Brochhi or Gattuso...or as an att midfield for Rui or Kaka...
