View Full Version : AC Milan - Siena (pre-game comments)
time to look forward after some dissapointing results....
we play Juve in 4 matchdays from now, until our match with them we play Siena and Fiorentina at home, and Parma and Chievo away. Juve, on the other hand, play Lazio at home, and Lecce, Inter and Bologna away. Ideally we will win our 4 matches, and hopefully Juve will drop points. If in this 4 matchdays we are able to cut the difference by only 3 points, we will be in the position to be able to catch them in our direct match.......however, it is kind of pointless to make calculations if we do not improve those areas where we need improvement first.....so get to work boys ;)
Sheva should be available for this match..I would like to see Rui in action, as I heard he was among our best players against Brescia....
anyway, comments?
FORZA MILAN!!!
we will win all the four, and juventus will drop 12 points, so when we beat juventus head-to-head, we will be able to extend our lead to a solid 9 points. :D
rui, jdt and co concerns me with their inconsistency. one game they were wonderful, the other game they were unseen. especially with JDT. it is kind of funny that he always outsmarts our expectation. i mean, when we expect him to shine, he doens't. when we don't, he does. interesting.
i can only wish that sheva comes back right away and kick all the asses that are around. :w209: :w209: :grinser:
i am expecting a long-awaited 4-0 win, shevchenko scoring all the four, including one followed-up tap-in after pirlo's missing penalty in 88th minute.
let's start to kick all the asses!!!!!! :devf: :devf: :devf: :devf: :devf:
i hope kaka gets a rest, and rui starts, sheva to start, crespo to be benched!!!! serginho to start, pirlo to rest, ambrosini/dhorasso to start instead, and kaladze on the left!
Dhorasoo has proved in the Brescia game that he deserves playing time against Siena, maybe not as a starter but at least some decent playing time. He came on in the last 20 min against Brescia and was easily Milan's best player :eekani: But I have a feeling Carletto will drop him again. :v46:
Haroon has highlighted previously our appalling rate of setpiece conversion, and that is no worse displayed against Brescia. We had 12 corners to Brescia's zero and none of our corners caused any real threat at Brescia's goal. Pathetic! Imagine what a good setpiece team like Chelsea could have done with 12 corners.
I just want 3 points against Siena. Right now, it's the points that matter, not the scoreboard. And we need Sheva back, badly...

Yes we do need sheva badly, without him we struggle to score, and this game against siena should be easy but if shevchenko doesnt play my prediction will either be 0-0 or 0-1 too siena bcz the game against brescia they had a few good scoring opportunities and if it wasnt for dida we would have lost. BUT if shevchenko plays we will win 2-0 (sheva, sheva) and hopefully he does bcz crespo and jdt are struggling and if this game turns out to be a stalemate or milan dont score and lose we then definetly need to buy a new striker in january. FORZA MILAN I miss the winning feeling hopefully it comes this week,we havent won for three games cmon it cant be the fourth? :angf:
especially with JDT. it is kind of funny that he always outsmarts our expectation. i mean, when we expect him to shine, he doens't. when we don't, he does. interesting.
He won't score at this match :p
Come on Milan! Fix our poor home record! ;)
I still find it very calming that although we started the season poorly, we are still on top half of the table; unlike some team, who gets draw for the 420945th time yesterday :p
Juventus is the team that I'd always worry about. Like a greyhound race, their early speed is excellent, but a stronger competitor would steal the lead and win the race! ;)
It's aint over till one team reach the finishing line! FORZA MILAN!
System failure, in need of urgent attention!! :frustrat:
It is quite clear to all now that Milan is totally out of shape at the moment, my oppinion is that we need a drastic shift in terms of how we think. We are Milan, sure, but the trophies won are now history and another campaign is ongoing, sadly it appears as though we as a team seems to have our heads still parked in the previous campaign. This is not acceptable and the gloves now needs to come off, period.
The striker situation is hampering us, eventhough I fully understand what Gallianis plan was during preseason, it is now becoming more and more clear that it didnīt work out. Milan were supposed to field Inzaghi and Shevchenko, having Tomasson and Crespo as options from the bench. Crespo was brought in on a loan deal to add strength to the squad for the current campaign. Noone could have knowned that Inzaghi was to excluded from the squad due to another set of serious injuries and operations. Noone could have predicted that Tomasson would loose his ability to score so drastically along with Crespo turning out to be the joke of the fall. In addition to that Kaka' looks lost aswell. The only player of the ones mentioned that actually delivers is Shevchenko, which isnīt enough if the aim is to defend the title.
I really hope that Milan sees that the original plan for what it is, a failed plan and acts in January. I also hope that Milan starts working on this asap so that when January comes another striker is launched as soon as the window opens. This is a highly needed move by the management, which is something that Milan with the financial muscles that it has could and shall do. I expect to see Gilardino or someone of similar status arrive in January with one of our strikers possible going to Parma to make it happen, whatever it takes! :angf:
However the drastic changes that WILL take place among our options upfront come January will not solve the situation today. The team needs to bury all that arrogance and lack of willpower that I see in them now in the games Iīve seen. This makeover starts with Carlo Ancelotti, who appears to be content aswell, sigh...
Now sit down all of you at Milanello and outline a new approach, whoever is willing to fight and bleed for the points in our immediate future gets to play, what name you have is of zero significance at this moment. Vs Siena I expect to see 11 players (donīt care who they are along with Ancelotti) with eyes that glows with hunger and determination. If I see that and we still drop points, then so be it, if not even if weīll somehow manage to win then my gloves will come off aswell. This is Milan, Milan equals pride and a hunger to win, which is something not many can find in the performances of late.
We need a fresh start vs Siena and then build from that. The only way to get that boost is if the team and everyone related to it understands the seriousness of the situation and uses a "mirror" and takes a good look at their own contribution. Grit, Determination, Will, Hunger and Pride are just simple words but for us they are to be considered crucial and I expect to see that others understand that aswell from now on.
Pathetic is out the window and Passion is in, starting NOW!!!

Dhorasoo MUST play this match, a new fresh legs is necesarry in this team, so Gattuso or Pirlo must rest.

Wait... you mean Brescia dominates us? That I would consider MIlan totally out of shape.
A matter of definition.

Dhorasoo and Crespo shall play...all those whom watched the Brescia match will agree with Dhorasoo...but Crespo however i know will incur alot of wrath from some of u...but if we dun start him..he will neva prove himself...i know we have already given him lotsa chances...but look @ the shape tt he is in now..u cant expect him to speed past those defenders like he used to rite?..he needs to slim down!!!...so let him play more...slim down more...den with the right physique n the current technique..he WILL bang in lotsa goals for us...
Our central defence seems shaky of late...is it fatigue or complacent?..if not for Dida whos there @ the rite time...these next few days will be DAMN MISERABLE to bear man!!~ i hope against Siena they will not allow even a shot on goal for the opposition..*grrr*
it shall be a goal rush for us..considering Sheva is back... :grinser:
Hopeful lineup: Dida, Kala, Paolo, Nesta, Cafu, Seedorf, Ambro, Dhorasoo, Pirlo, Shev, Crespo
Forza Milan!!!

I couldn't agree more especially with "what name you have is of zero significance at this moment". :)
Do you really know that Sheva will play?
I think sheva will be availble for senia game and he would lead us
to win and get 3 point . we should not depend on teams to beat juve.
milan should correct mistakes from last 2 game and look forward
for win and at this moment I don't see milan will score much
but win is all it matter . I also say let rest kaka and play rui costa
and let us make juve drop point when we meet them in Dec 19
I can't wait to see this game but until that a four wins is only choice
for milan to fight for the first place

Do you really know that Sheva will play?

I agree with the "name doesnt matter" argument entirely, with the exception of Sheva of course. He is the only one that is living up to his billing, though Rui usually seems to shine when given the rare opportunity.
We should win this comfortably once Sheva is playing, which is a glaring statement about our goal production this season. Seedorf, Kaka, and Rui :rollani: need to put on their goal scoring boots, and help out Sheva...notice I did not suggest either of Crespo or JDT, as both have seemingly lost theirs, and are having trouble finding a pair that can fit them. :dumpf:
I really do agree that the Milan master plan seems destined to failure insofar as the 4 forwards we thought we would have available, so hopefully they will remove their blinkers, and open up the wallets and buy a proven striker.:dumpf:
Maybe we could bring back Boriello (or whatever the spelling is) from loan?
The only positive thing about the Milan crisis is they always bring out the best in mange ;)
I'd just like to add that I don't have high hopes for this one:(, we'll struggle to earn all three points. The barįa game seems to have hurt the moral of the team worse than expected.
This is our match, we are going to crush them. But we need not only to beat them, but also to play good....and hopefully score many goals, and not only from Sheva's feet ;)
The best Milan will appear against Juve some weeks from now  (kind of like against Roma last year)
thats the other problem with this seasons transfer campaign, the lack of any actuall first team changes or competition i think mange is right in saying we're still a bit complacent.
Crespo, I am still not convinced will be a flop, he was rubbish at parma for a couple of monthes but Carlo did get him to have a very good season. If anything we can perhaps hope he hits a hot streak at some point, it would be unrealistic to think he'll be a consistent goal scored from the near future to the end of the season, but a little run of 4-5 games would even come in very handy.

Apparently a Milan fan nearly started a fight with Mancini by calling him "Mr. X". That wasn't you, was it? :)
Back on topic, it looks like Sheva will play. The doctors are expecting him to pass today's late fitness test.
I've always admired Crespo as a player. He's a great professional and a fantastic striker. It's really frustrating waiting for him to finally find the back of the net, but I think Ancelotti is doing the right thing by playing him. It's the only way to get strikers back into form. Crespo needs time after a year of injuries. The only problem is that Milan need to score goals during this time. :( Anyway, it's not like Ancelotti has a lot of options when Sheva is out.
Crespo should start alongside Sheva.Tomasson should come in for Crespo in the second half.JDT plays better as a substitute. The midfield needs a break.Hopefully Rui Costa plays in place for Kaka.Kaka looks tired and he needs a break.Brocchi must play in this game.He is one of the few players in the substitutes bench who wants to go all out to win the game.Gattuso needs a break.I hear he has a muscular problem.

AFTERNOON TRAINING
12 November 2004 16:24
MILANELLO - At 3pm CET Carlo Ancelotti gathered the team for the briefing and then the session started. The players worked with the ball to improve possession and speed. The goalkeepers trained apart with Villian Vecchi.
Crespo, Serginho and Tomasson tried shots on target, with Dida between the posts. A nine-a-side game sealed the end of the training.
Well, I sure hope it's practice make perfect tomorrow against Siena.
And the good news is Sheva should be fit to play.

Well, I guess it is more than clear how important the 3 points are from now on in EVERY game so I will skip the this-is-a-must-win-game part. Milan seems to play very well but are missing the most important part in winning - scoring goals. We are very very unconcentrated aka wasteful up front and I just hope that this goes away soon enough. The problem is that we are the ones who have to make it go away and this is kind of hard when some of the most important players are not in perfect shape.
Hopefully for this game we will see some players who have played less so far but seem to be in much better shape than their first-11 counterparts, players like Brocchi, Rui, Dorahsoo, Sergino. Seedorf is a must in our midfield for the games to follow. As for Kaka, I think it is about time this guy gets a rest.
Also I am really worried about Crespo and this is not about his poor, for his standards, form but the way he has been treated by a bunch of illeducated sh_it_eating idiots who call themselves Milan fans whenever Milan is going through a good period. I do believe that Hernan can be very precious to Milan in the future but he has to be given more time and be shown trust and not be whistled and booed at for not scoring goals. He is coming out of a dreadful 2-year-long period and the last thing he needs right now is a bunch of scum-bags showing what great Milan fans they are.

Above all, I want a win tomorrow. I also think it would be great if someone beside Sheva scored (although him scoring as well would be even better).
3 points is whats needed.

I hope that it will be an great display tomorrow with a 4-0 victory .. but I rather fear and think it is going to be a close 2-1 or 1-0. Sheva will be back but it is also difficult for him with all that pressure there are on him.
A victory will be important .. There a few games left this year and these have to be won. 3 point tomorrow ..
