View Full Version : AC Milan - Siena (post-game comments)
Not a brilliant match, but 3 points are in the bag.
Bravo Sheva for his 100th Serie A goal!! FORZA TZAR!!!
still 6 points behind Juve, but we will catch them when we play them :dcool:
comments???
FORZA MILAN!!!
Just got back home from work to see the result  Exactly as tough as expected ...
Sheva - simply from another planet :pr115:
Looks like the rest did Shevchenko some good, he was a menace all game. A pity he couldn't convert one or two of the other chances to get his hat-trick. Still a little worried that no one else can score right now. Still 3 points is all that counts and we just have to hope we don't slip up anymore while Juventus drop some points here and there ... which is possible.

Milan played well for only 10 minutes from first half, other than that it was bad. Rui and Ambro did quite well when they came on, but I went mad as soon as I saw Amrbo come on for Kaka, thought Carlo was going for defensive tactics again! Milan were better in 2nd half.. The bad things of todays game is that Pancaro was terrible, defence was caught sleeping too much, JDT wasnt good but he moved well and missed a few chances, and crespo couldnt control the ball.. Cafu was brilliant as usual, Sheva played extraordinary today.. 1 thing amused of the game today, it was when Nesta literally WRESLTLED 2 players into the ground that was hilarious!
4 wins (Milan, Juve, Palermo and Reggina) and 6 draws today. (Inter was hence not alone with this feat this week ;)). Great win, we will catch up with Juve when playing them.
If it wasn't clear before, it certainly is now. Serie A is a two-hoarse race between Juve and Milan. Inter is 15 points off the lead and Roma is 18 behind.
Forza Sheva :3band:

Wooow do you guys know that Zambrotta played in the playmaker role for Juve? I love Zambrotta! I really would love to know how he performed, I wouldnt be surprised if he can be a goal keeper as well! he's played everywhere!

I have watched the second half and qwe could score 3/4 goals, one with kakà, one amazing with an astonishing sheva header , one with tomasson from the center of the box, a couple with other players
sheva was simply uncatchable..golden ball form...actually i rarely see sheva playing like that, today hasn't lost a single ball, organised actions everywhere in every part of the field, shoots form everywhere..amazing!
crespo played few minutes, touched one ball and he was embarassing..he couldn't manage to stop a simple ball.clear sign he isn't confident at all.
We lost 1 header from free-kick again...still a problem wait for improve....:v46:
We lost so many chances in 2nd half,KAKA wasn't at good condition in this match.Sheva still always scored ,and congratulation for his 100th GOAL!! in Seria A

Not a bad game at all not considering the first 10-15 minutes of the 1st half when the boys seemed to be a bit sleepy. In the second half we conceded too much space on a number of occasions and Siena had some very dangerous opportunities which they somehow failed to convert. I guess this was the result of Milan going a bit chaotically forward and then easily losing the ball thus giving Siena the chance of a swift counter attack. Also in a number of occasions, Milan's central midfield would leave the defence alone at the mercy of Chiesa and co without trying too hard to stop the Siena players while they still were away from our goal.
Pancaro, as mentioned, was a constant menace to his colleagues in the Milan rearguard and I am sure Carlo didn't take him out only because he would have lost one substitution. The rest of the Milan players did well and some very very well except for those moments when we would leave Siena attack our goal without trying stopping them in midfield.
Overall, it was not a bad game for Milan. I guess the three points are the most important part in a winning a scudetto, after all.
i predicted that sheva will score 4. he so disappointed me. :(

well, your requests are very easy to satisfy :sun:
Post-game quote from Siena's coach: “We did what we could, but Andriy Shevchenko is a soccer monster. He is an extraordinary player and made the difference today.”
Pretty much sums it all up, and soccer moster is such a cool title :)

Not a new fact but at least a shows well-deserved respect to Sheva.
Congrat for the 100th goal.
But the main question now is " Will anyone else score?"
So far it seems that it is a race between juve and Sheva. Not taking it all away from milan players but for sure from the offense.

will somone else score...yes..i think so...i mean let's be real people...how long do we think jdt , crespo, and kaka soal scoring slump will continue...there are proven scorers...it's just a matter of time....what we should be thankful for is the fact that we have a top player able to take the load when others are down.....i give them a few more games before we begin to see the real milan...and the good think is i think they will begin to start scoring right when we need to start peaking for all the titles....so around mid december to early january , look for the onslaught to begin

nice to see you back Curtis, I'm sure you'll love all the transfer requests at the moment. I'd put off that onslaught till January when the business end of the season begins.
As for the match, we were not bad, in fact we were ok barring a few moments. Our defence's lack of concentration at times could have cost us, but it was never bad enough for us to worry that we'd fail to get the result.
Many players had a decent performance and even though only Sheva scored, we showed that we are dangerous and other teams will be hoping that the others never find the scoring touch, as when that happens we will be near unstoppable.
Anyway, congrats to Sheva on his 100, clearly mom today!
FORZA SHEVA!!
FORZA MILAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ratings
Dida - 5.5 the header was really close to him but prob got a bad bounce or was too slow. safe as usual besides that.
Pancaro - 5.5 Not much to say cause not much done. Needs to learn to cross.
Cafu - 6 Bit better then Pancaro. Crossing can be better as well. Milan play more dangerous through the middle this game.
Nesta - 6 one insane moment, the ball was lost and he tackled (wretling style!) 2 players without getting booked?!? very strange
Maldini -7 goal saving tackle. nearly scored with strong header but too straight.very solid.
Pirlo - 6 good without being great
Seedorf - 5.5 ok but still disappointing. can be much more fluid in attack and pass the ball FORWARD more.
Gatusso - 6 usual self
Kaka - 6 his runs are easily stopped now. good assist for Sheva. few scoring chances. improvement from last few weeks
Tomasson - 5 looked lost. should have scored the chance he got. did put in a great cross for Sheva from nothing, thats bout it.
Sheva - 8 didn't put a foot wrong. 2 chances with the head to get hattrick. ran 1/2 the field near the end, good shot, but good stop.
congratulations- 100goals!!

we all are happy regardless who scores but the point is still the same:we are too reliant on him, and i wonder when we'll miss his goals. plus, if we wanna contrast juve we must have more than one excellent striker.don't forget in january trezeguet will recover and they will improve with his goals..

They can rely on Trezeguet as much as we can rely on Crespo ;).

mate i don't agree on this one..treseghe has always scored, he's a dangerous player plus they still are goiing like mad bulls, if you add them an extra bonus i wonder what they will do
but i'm confident we will deliver soon, and juve will have more probs in january february..capello teams always start like that rememeber roma last season

So has Crespo. He's always been world class as well Scoring droughts, injury problems; they've both had their fair share. There is nothing between him and DP and Crespo and JDT. The only thing that can separate these two ios form. And you've can't be sure Trez will be on top form once he comes back, especially from an injury. Same thing for Pippo. Trez coming back might be an extra bonus. But he might not be on top form and JDT and Crespo could come back to form anytime now. You can't be sure Juve will be unstoppable once he comes back.
If it wasn't clear before, it certainly is now. Serie A is a two-hoarse race between Juve and Milan. Inter is 15 points off the lead and Roma is 18 behind.
A strange Serie A season indeed.
6 points separate the top 2 teams.
Another 6 points separate the 2nd and 3rd place teams.
And a further 6 points separate the 4th place team and the team 2nd from bottom! :eekani:
I'm thinking of putting my money on Inter getting relegated this season. :devf:

Not a bad game and the team is showing some signs of improvement. Now Ancelotti and the coach staff need to improve some aspects in this week without Serie A games - especially Crespo's physical condition!
Tomasson needs some trainning sessions too. He can't miss the chances he's been missing. Against Brescia Dhorasoo put him in front of the keeper in good condition to score. Yesterday was Seedorf and earlier, in the first half, he missed one after a clash between Sheva and the keeper...
The things will start to be much more serious from next round and Juve probably will drop some points against Inter - another draw?
I didn't expect this 12 points gap between first and third place in Serie A too. Besides that, I really didn't expect Inter with 10 draws in 12 matches.
But you never know what is going to happen with them...
woow again scorer is Sheva...will he ever stop scorin...:D [God please condemn me for such words]
yes, Crespo is a problem, IMO would better let him go where he belongs -- chelski... and swap Gila+Tevez in january, otherwise I do not see other way to solve ''Sheva's --goal mashine'' problem :D
Simlpy imagine... if Sheva stop scoring due to grave reasons [injury etc.] then we could only take nil nil draw in best case, cuz no one knows how to score....
Finally a win after 3 games.Though it was a hard fought victory,it was important for our morale. But seriously,we need 2 find another alternative 2 find the back of the net. We're depending too much on Sheva.Although,Sheva netted his 100th goal for Milan in Serie A.Well done Sheva!!!!
Ancelotti said that we have 2 make the best out of the situation and take advantage of Sheva's superb form. There will be a point of time when he will slowly stop finding the net as Defenders all over Europe will learn 2 mark out Sheva. Then who will start scoring?
Kaka looked out of sorts against Siena.Although he did assist Sheva's first goal.Other than that,he did not really contribute much 2 the attack. He needs 2 find the form he had last season.
FORZA MILAN!
There will be a point of time when he will slowly stop finding the net as Defenders all over Europe will learn 2 mark out Sheva. Then who will start scoring?
Defenders have had quite a few years to learn how to mark Sheva out of the game. They haven't managed to do it yet. ;)
Same thing with Pippo. Everybody knows his game by heart. He still scores.
I'm thinking of putting my money on Inter getting relegated this season. :devf:
Roma and/or Inter being relegated would be something else. I don't particularely hope for it to happen (bad for Serie A), but I might just this season.

Well said my caribbean colleague! Milan dont need to peak now, post Jan is fine with me, as long as we can grind out the results.
As we say in :devs: Jamaica :devs: : Sheva a di REAL man roun' `ere [Sheva is the real man around here] :respect:
I did not see the game, only the highlights, and was glad to see JDT with an excellent cross that Sheva should have scored, but thats ok. I will forgive him that miss.
JDT's frustration at not scoring was very apparent, and he needs to find a centre of calm just before kicking the ball, and he will regain his scoring touch, glad to see his level of effort though, its heartening after the arrogance that I have complained about.
The gap to Juve is daunting, but not insurmountable...hopefully this will lend itself to some level of complacency from the (Juve) players, and that is when we must be decisive, aggressive, and yet calm enuf to take advantage of the potential stumble.
FORZA MILAN, FORZA SHEVA!!!! Congrats on ur 100th Serie A Goal!!!!!!
Sheva iz a genius!
What's up with the "Z's"? :) I noticed you started swapping letters in you last few posts. :r11:

There are two things that I am concerned with in this game: first, again, Shevchenko did the damage for us. I like Tomasson and his attitude in the Milan team but he had at least two scoring changes to finish off the game but messed it up. And you can just see his frustration. I agree with triniman about waiting for their form to peak come January but on the other hand, Tomasson's frustration during the game was apparent. With much hope that he doesn't lose motivation before the winter break.
Crespo can do nothing much in the last five minutes he was inserted but he was not relaxed at all. That's worrying and I hope that Ancelotti would rest Tomasson in the next game and put Crespo to partner Shevchenko. Since the latter has been doing much of the scoring work lately, what harm can Crespo do to Milan's game should he partner Shevchenko?
We expect something out of Kaka, especially his dazzling display last season. But I don't think he's exactly on form at the moment. He made some good passes but in my opinion, he's a bit slow to release the ball, making the decisive right passes.
Secondly, Milan has to work on the dead ball situation against them. How many games have we conceded goal through dead ball situation? I really hate to say this but it seems in this situation our "central defenders" seem to sleep (I know many of you will slaughter me saying this.. :mute: ) in such situation. This needs to be improved.
