The rules I just posted in the new sticky are at least right now still considered proposals for updating the rules that have always existed here at MM. There is a link to the "old" rules on the main page of the site, but I would like to have the new rules readily available for everyone to read. And also...since these are your forums, I'd like to open this thread where the rules can be discussed, where suggestions and recommendations can be made, etc.

And as for the inevitable question why rules: no society functions without some basic rules. We would hope those rules are understood, but to offset any misunderstandings, sometimes they do need to be put in front of the population of that society. MM has never functioned without rules of some sort, and it will never be a forum without any rules at all. Hope that answers that particular question before it even gets asked! :diablo:

Mods, you may post here but we'll continue our regular discussion in Mods Haven!

Henrik and Rez, I guess that's what we'll assume if no one has any comments or additions or anything. Is that like a dictatorship??? :w262:

I was gonna respond yesterday but i couldnt think of anything to disagree with ;)

The new rules seem fine. They are flexible enough to generate decent discussions and also clear enough to be understood by all.

What about in flammer paradise, do the rules still considered? And I have a suggestion, it is about the Mobile Text Message drive me nuts (no offence to people affected) , I'm sure we're all have a complete keyboard :w262: . I hope no one use the Text Message when posting. But it's up to you, mods ;)

With Flamers Paradise, we keep an eye on things but we do let THAT particular forum be a little more free from adhering to the rules. People need aplace to vent and usually things there remain pretty civil despite the name of the place.

It would appear we need to amend the rules to cover avatars and custom titles. Those functions are in place to customize your presence here, however as has been the case on any forum I've ever seen with such functions, people have to push the envelope as much as they can, not caring if what they use could be offensive. I would hate to see us having to limit avatars JUST to soccer/football images, and custom titles the same but we will if we have to. Please do not use politically charged/politically related avatars and custom titles.

Rae, if you are offended by another members Avatar or post, please report it to a moderator or administrator, instead of trying to prove you point by committing the same offence yourself.

People always have to push as much as they can which in turn can ruin the privilege for every one. We can always shut off that option if people are going to see what they can get away with. And this is not the first time we've ever had to deal with this and I'm sure it won't be the last. But one word of advice to people--don't point fingers at everyone esle, OK? :gun:
