this player is amazing..i love his game and think he's the best right back of the last 10 years..his technique is amazing, his crosses are a delight to watch, his way to play in that role is an inspiration for young players.

even more important: he's one of our key players. He's simply too important to be benched and one of my fav milan players.

Bingo! For someone of his age he's still in extremely good physical condition and he still has the pace to go past opposing fullbacks! :eekani:

Of course, he's also doing very well for my fantasy league team. :grinser:

Forza Marcos! :proud:

Cafu is not only a good player on the pitch, but his positive attitude is an inspiration for the other players in the team. The man allways smiles :)

Indeed a brillant player. The best right sided player of last 10/15 years.
Hope he can still play another 2 seasons of top class football with Milan, because from an athletic point of view he is unequaled.

i love him what a cool person.. i wonder how he and gattuso get along... if a guy rips off his balls he still smiles, gattuso on the other hand if he gets laid by j-lo hes still angry! and they both play on the right side!!

forza cafu IMO one of the best RBs EVER!

gattuso is such an amusing person in real life..despite his look..don't know if you have ever got some interviews of him but once at a vip who wants to be a millionaire episode he and vieri cracked the whole italy up

Gio is right, Ringhio is a very funny character and far cooler than he seems.

As for Cafu, I dreamt of him playing for Milan during his time in Rome and am glad he came. Simply put, the guy is a legend and personally, unlike many people, I think he is far better than Carlos.

Cafu is a "natural" Brazilian player with energy, attacking flair, and good attitude. He does not age, and runs like a 20-year old newcomer.

In the past, players such as Cafu would be defined as "right-wingers" and dedicated to attacking and penetrating the opponent for 90 minutes. I guess some modern "tacticians" or "paper football coaches" decided the defensive back has the job of running up and down all over the field, and assigned Cafu and others to do just that.

The bottom line is : Cafu runs very well up the field, and is less effective in defense. All in all, he is the best to have in the line-up.

He`s simply amazing..makes great passes and is our key player. Creates a different style of game and has a very positive atitude. Even at his age, his physical condition seems to be very good.

Cafu, the fact that he is still playing for the NT proves how capable and indispensible he is to his country and Milan. Remarkable feat if he can win the world cup again..altho i dont see that coming :grinser: Italy will be the one lifting the cup in 2006 :rock3:

excellent point: despite having belletti who plays nonetheless for barcelona, he's still the regular..this proves how quality and undroppable he is

He's not only a good player, but a good citizen as well. He has an organization (Fundação Cafu) who help poor kids in the neighbourhood he grew up.
And he is a winner too. Look at his trophies collection: :pr115:
Brazilian NT - WC 1994 - 2002 (captain), Copa America 97/99 (captain), Confederation Cup/97
São Paulo FC - Paulista Championship 89/91/92, Brazilian Championship/91, Libertadores Cup 92/93, Toyota Cup 92/93, Libertadores Supercup/93, South American Cup 92/93
Real Zaragoza (Spain) - Cup of Winners Cup/95
Palmeiras - Paulista Championship/96
AS Roma - Serie A - 2000/2001
AC Milan - Serie A - 2003/2004, 2004/2005, 2005/2006, UCL 2004/2005. :diablo:

this is not a true statement about rino. rino gattuso is not an "angry" player as you state here. he's actually very calm and is one of the nicest players on the pitch. he always picks up his fallen opponents and is known to be extremely fair. i remember in an interview he was told that the juve fans hate him and he replied "that's ok. i love them in return" haha.

i didn't really like rob carlos because i felt he was overrated as a "Freekick specialist" when he REALLY is not! but character wise, carlos is a very nice guy imo. cafu is a good role model for the youth too. smiling and accepting ref decisions and not being a sampdoria player about it (since we all know samp players whine over everything).

Rino is a fighter. He needs to be a winner. However he always do not step too far. Even his style is quite agressive, as you have mentioned, he always stay's in good relationships wit oponents... he is future Milan captain. There is no doubt.

!Forza Rino!

To add to your comparisons (Cafu-Carlos):
I would say that the way Roberto Carlos plays is more spectacular. Therefore people admire him. What impresses me personally are his freekicks, they're unique! However, presenting a spectacular "show" makes him do many mistakes.
Cafu really knows how to keep and how to control the ball and that's what an attacking defender needs to do.

Roberto Carlos overrated? :howler:

Have you forgotten how he phucked up in his pissed poor attempt to clear the ball in bicycle kick fashion against Denmark at WC 98? :delol: I don't think I need to remind you what happened after that. :grinser:

Certainly way overrated as a freekick taker too.

guys guys guys... thats not what i meant about rino... im saying this by the way he looks on the field, he never smiles, despite that he is the most lively and sportsman(ish) player out there other than maldini or cafu offcourse, i love rino with all my heart and his character is my favorite in the football world, in interviews he always says what i think of, mainly the truth, hes always fair and doesnt like big fusses. and he is friends with all the players wherever.. what a great man

Roberto Carlos has probably been Real Madrid's most consistent performer throughout a period in which they've won 3 CL titles and 2 Spanish Championships. It looks like he does not age in the same graceful fashion as his countryman, Cafu, but still, simply a great player.

However, I won't dispute the statement that he is/was probably overrated as a freekick taker although great in that department too.

26-11-2004, 16:37
Well, that's the way it is: You can play every match nearly without any mistakes...However, that's not as efficient as scoring some very spectacular goals as Roberto Carlos did. Then you can afford making some mistakes and nobody would mind... However, IMO Carlos is a good defender though.
