I thought its time someone created this as clearly there are plenty of videogamers on the forum.

Basically, its just a place where the gamers can come discuss new games or ones they're playing and things about the industry. One thing I hope we can avoid though is "gaming wars" topics (e.g. "PS2 is best and XBOX and GC suck" etc...), as this is normally little more than a pointless argument as each console has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Anyway, I made a comment in the "Brighter things in life thread" so I'll copy and paste that here...

I have been playing Final Fantasy X-2 in my spare time on my PS2. I love FF games since VII and must say up until now was a little disappointed with X-2. However, as I reach the conclusion of this game, I am truly loving it. Its a pure joy to play, with a top notch storyline (something I have come to expect from FF) and absoloutly beautiful characters and stunning visuals. I really admit I'm hooked and I can't wait to see how the story ends.

Any other FF players out there?

Continuing on with the FF theme, I saw every FFXII trailer yesterday and it looks outstanding. It reminds me of the classic Vagrant Story on PS1.

As you guys probably guessed, I'm quite a fan of FF and have completed every single one from VII onwards (not including XI which is online).

Also, to note, I can't wait till Dragon Quest VIII, its about time the west got to see this classic series (its as popular as FF in Japan). I'm praying it will be released in Europe, unlike Xenosaga, which I waited years to get for it only to never get released (Namco can be so annoying :angf: )

Nice tread

well , I have a Nintendo Gamecube . and I really love it , but offcourse PS2 and Xbox are great !

I bought my nintendo mainly for resident evil ... Cause when I heard that the next generation resident evil games were gonna be a GC exclusive I allready had the console the day after :D ( figure of speech )

I never played Final Fantasy before :fart: yes, never :)
I know many people love it , so when I have the time and money I'll buy cristal chronicals.

Right now I'm playing Beyond good & evil ... IMHO , that game is so great !!! and only for 18€ F-zeroGX is soooooo fast :D

I'm very excited about resident evil 4 , metriod prime 2 and mortal kombat deception .

The best and most fun game I played on Ps2 is devil may cry , too bad it aint gonna come on Gc :(

ok....

PS2, I have it, play it, love it. :D

New game in town(few weeks), my rating: :star::star::star::star::star:

Name: Grand Theft Auto SAN ANDREAS

Probably the best game ever that came out to PS2 console :bri:

It's the fifth in the legendary series of vilonet action games and notorious in number of places in the world. :firedev: The game is happening in a state called San Andreas :gun: , on tremendous area. 5 times bigger than the first GTA! Los Santos(aka "L.A"), San Fierro(aka "San Fransisco") and Las Venturas(aka "Las Vegas") are three cities which the game is taking place at. Each of the three cities are equal in her sizes to the Vice City(aka "Scarface" movie ;) ). Besides cities you can tour in valleis,deserets,shore-lines ect. it's more populated than the Vice City. more details, more options, more cars, more weapons, more challenges, more characters, more music and more STORY.

Well... I will not extend about the story(But there is a deep story) since my english is crap and it's taking me ages to write at the moment... :stoned: :o :funpc: :r7: :nunu:

These are some of the songs you can find in the game:

Salt'n'Pepa - Push it
Vanilla Ice - Ice Ice Baby
Inner Circle - Bad Boys
KLF - 3am Eternal
Massive Attack - Unfinished Sympathy
Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit
Jane's Addiction - Been Caught Stealing
Poison - Every Rose Has It's Thorn
Guns'n'Roses - Sweet Child O' Mine
Smashing Pumpkins - Today
NWA - **** Tha Police / 100 Miles And Runnnin'
Snoop Doggy Dogg - Gin N'Juice / Ain't No Fun
Warren G - Regulate
Fugees - Killing Me Softly
Coolio - Gangsta's Paradise
Public Enemy - Rebel Without A Pause
The Stone Roses - Fools Gold
Happy Mondays - Step On
The Verve - Bitter Sweet Symphony
Radiohead - Creep

I've never really played the FF series so i dont know much about it but im never much good at that sort of game anyway, in fact, the last game of that type that i completed was Mario3 on the NES

ACMILAN1983

ok, Steza and Nova...I suggest at least giving an FF game a chance as I would say to any gamer, although it can be an acquired taste and needs patience. Also Steza, FF isn't much like Mario I'm afraid (actually very different). While Mario is a platformer where gameplay mechanics require the player to tackle obstacles and defeat bad guys while controlling the actions of the main character, Final Fantasy is an RPG where focus is on interacting with the game and other characters, whilst getting immerse into a huge world where the storyline is very deep (unlike Mario). The gameplay is more just running around and talking to other characters and battles are more strategic than Mario (which are more action orientated). Hope this gives you a fair idea of the differences.

As for GTA:SA, I have to wait until Christmas to play it and PES4 :(

The music for GTA looks good and I can't wait to see some of the new features (e.g. Character development).

But until then I can keep on with FFX-2 and Kingdom Hearts

Has anyone seen the trailers ? I saw it and it was jawdropping :eekani: Too bad it will come out here in europe in 2005 :(
about GTA , I only played the first 2 on playstation and had lots and lots of fun with it ... sometimes not even following the instructions , just cruising around and "borrowing" cars and driving tanks and drive over police cars, mwuahahaha :tong:

I played it, but I think Burnout 3 was far better. I should mention Burnout 3 is one of the greatest racers ever imo.

As for Pes 4, I will finally get to play it in about 2 weeks, along with Burnout 3 and San Andreas.

Now, its time for FFX-2 :D

Yeah , I saw gameplay trailers of burn-out 3 , it looks great. Alltough they crash a lot , it's like a part of the game :) . Now I'm playing Resident Evil the remake version , great game !!

:grinser:

that is a MAJOR part of the game. Its a roadwar type thing, where as well as racing you must ram other cars off the road and make them crash in spectacular ways.

Abe's Oddysee was very good, shame the series went downhill.

Anyone play RPG?
Already play lots of quality RPG such as Final Fantasy 8,9 and X for the PS2. But, the best RPG is definitely Super Nintendo's Final Fantasy 3 (USA).

Honestly, I dont play games anymore since college, just some soccer games like ISS to sparring with my colleagues.

I have a Gamecube and i'm looking forward to Resident Evil 4 also. It should be out late January next year. I am disappointed though that they went back on their word of making it a Gamecube exclusive. I expect they saw the great response the screenshots and trailers have been getting and decided to launch it on the PS2 also. Anyway. The new Zelda and Mario games will definately be ones to look out for, although i'm not sure they'll be released next year.

I like Final Fantasy, but i've only played VII, i was tempted to get Crystal Chronicles, but i heard the 1 player game wasn't that great, so i don't think i'll bother. However, as rpg's go, try Skies of Arcadia (a direct port of the Dreamcast classic), Tales of Symphonia, Zelda; Wind Waker, Paper Mario ... there's also Baten Kaitos, but i've not got my copy through the post yet so i don't know how that plays ... next year the Gamecube will also get Fire Emblem which should be great.

Metroid Prime 2 is very good also, as is Mario Golf. So many great games and not enough time to play them :D

Oh and PC games, Rome:Total War, Dawn of War and Lord of the rings:Battle for Middle Earth ... check that one out for all you rts fans :D

Also got FF4 to 6 lately, so I'm gonna start 6 after finishing X-2

not much news lately in gaming but I read a review for Prince of Persia 2 lately and it seems good (like the first one), but apparently the "dark" environment in the game can get tiresome.

Anyway, hasn't anyone been playing anything?

ok, I played Prince of Persia 2 today and it seems quite good. Its similar to the first with some tweaks and the battle system is more detailed and fun, but it'll take a little getting used to if your used to the first game. Graphics are good as well. It looks good, but not a massive leap from the original (which I thought was very good anyway). I only played it for a short time, but fans of the last game shouldn't be disappointed.

Marco, I've played FF:Crystal Chronicles, but I didn't play it for more than a few minutes. I can't say that I liked it from what I saw, as it seemed to stray away from normal FF games and play more like a platformer, although this isn't to say that its necessarily like the throughout the game. It didn't grip me much and I can't comment on the story, as I have no idea what it is, but its not worth getting if its bad, considering the storylines and interaction with other characters are the two most important elements of a FF game. I suggest you try finding someone who has it and giving it a shot to see what you think.

Marco £7.99 is 11.5 Euros. The game was pre-owned, i buy a few games second hand if they're in good condition.

Yes, you can play American games on a European Gamecube, you need a boot disc for it called "Freeloader". You put it in first, then once it's loaded you put the American game in and off you go :D

You can get it from Amazon.co.uk for £16.99, so i guess that's roughly 23 Euros or so. I'm sure it'll be on other web sites or the Greek version of Amazon or something :)

as for best console RPG I would say that goes to "Chrono trigger". Otherwise I loved KOTOR which was a mix between the console style RPGs and the PC ones. I like the PC style RPGs better tough since they are less of action games and you actually do some roleplaying in them.

Chrno Trigger is a classic. I never got too far into it as it crashed while I was playing. I might start it again sometime

Yes, a friend of mine had a commondore64. the rave was "the last Ninja", but unfortunately there was something wrong on the last casette of three... But I can also not forget "Sex games" that was fun for the barerly teens (actually I was probably a pre-teen back then). :D

But first I ever played was a friends console, it was a ugly brown box and the only game I remember was one where you redirected a little dot with two lines, it was called "Tennis". :dielaugh:

Yeah, i think it's legal Dev ... Amazon could get in alot of trouble for selling it otherwise :D

I've heard that's supposed to be a good game Marco, i'll keep an eye out for it the next time i have some spare money. Although right now i have many games to keep me occupied. Kris, you should take a look at "Children of the Nile", or something like that. It's a remake/update of an oldish pc game called Pharaoh. You have to build an Egyptian city kind of thing.

Dev, do you remember playing a game called Dragon's Quest on the BBC at primary school ? It was like a text adventure game, it was great.

fair, enough, I guess it must be legal.

Sorry, I'm a little young for BBC, so I can barely remember much about it. However, I have heard of Dragon Quest, its quite famous actually.

I really got into games when playing Amiga 500. In fact, it was the first games machine I had and I even remember the first game I played was Back to the Future 2.

My pc is quite old, so i won't be getting pe4 for it. I'll just have to settle for fifa 2004.

I am currently about 18 hours into Baten Kaitos, although i have spent alot of that time levelling up my characters and getting new stuff. I think it's pretty cool as when you get cards they evolve into different things, like you'll get green bananas that aren't ripe enough to eat, but you can attack people with them ... then they ripen and you can use them to heal, but then they go bad and you can use them in poison attacks. Plus if you combine cards you get different ones, like honey + cheese = chestnuts (which heal lots of points and cures poison) .... it's really good :D

I got a bit further in Metroid Prime 2, but i died a long way from a save point, so i have to do that bit all again. The polish on that game is superb and has some of the best menu screens i've seen.

I'm glad i have 3 weeks off over Christmas, gives me alot of time to catch up.

12-12-2004, 16:50
Sure thing Dev.

Well it's an rpg and i think it's pretty good, although i would say that as i imported it from America :D So far it won't be released here in the U.K. and i'm pretty sure it's Gamecube exclusive. The visuals are amazing, some of the particle effects on the spells you cast are incredible, as are some of the pre-rendered backgrounds. It's not random battles like FF, you only battle if you bump into an enemy, so sometimes you can avoid them if you walk round them. The main difference with other titles is the battle system, you play with a deck of cards. You can carry 1000 cards in your deck, some you can use in battles, some when you're just walking around. The cards are various items, like different swords, types of armour, spells, elemental cards (like ice armour or flame sword, etc). But you also get other items that look useless. For example you might get some branches, combine the branches with a fire spell and you get charcoal, combine the charcoal with some sort of food and it'll cook it and give you something else. Most of these items also evlolve over time too, like the milk will turn into cheese and that gives you more health points, combine that with honey and you get the chestnuts which restore lots of health points. I think there are about 140 combinations to find, some make new spells, overs just new items. When you battle you can only have a certain amount in each character's deck, right now that's about 30 for me, plus you can only draw 5 cards at a time, so you have to have a balanced deck of attack, defence, healing, general cards. Each card has a number on it and you basically play poker, if you get a straight (3, 4, 5) you get a bonus added to your attack/defence points ..... likewise you get a bonus if you draw a pair or 2 pairs, etc. It takes a while, but you get used to it and i think it's pretty cool. There is an element of luck as the deck is shuffled for each battle, so you might be attacking but only have defensive cards or vice versa, so for that you're kind of screwed. But aside from that it's great so far.

Oh and the only way to earn money is to take a photo of the enemies and wait for it to develop before selling it, that's also a pretty nice touch.

Check out the official site or on ign, you can see some screen shots then. :)

quote from the game " May the rats have your eyeesssssssss .... the darkness comessssssss " :p146: :p146: :p146: whaaaaaaaaa

wonderfull games with such a creepy atmosphere. the story is read from a book with human skin as cover and filled with bones . The main caracter finds the book in her old daddy's mansion and starts reading ... while reading you'll play the caracters . Finishing each level will add runes to your magic inventory. That way you can mix rune stones and achieve magicall spells like health restore , sanity restore , magic restore , invisibility , power beam , etc etc ... the coolest thing about the game is the sanity meter, when it's filled your sane . As soon as you encounter monsters and zombies your saninty will decrease wich will lead to hallucinations , shaky camera position , ghost telephone call and when you pick up " remember meeeee" , flying books in the library , hard knocking on doors , screaming ... and once in a while you'll hear the playing caracter say " thiss ... isnt ... happeninggggg " ... I love the game !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A must for every gamecube owner , ah yes , it's nintendo exclusive !!!!

hehe. Nova I know about Eternal Darkness and how good its meant to be. Shame I can't play it.

Speaking of GC exclusives...I played what was meant to be a GC exclusive last night...Viewtiful Joe. Its a great game so far. Very easy to pick up, very well stylised and really a simple idea. However, even though its like this, it provides a good challenge. Can't wait to get further.

Also played GTA: SA yesterday. It seems great but I didn't even scratch the surface yet. GTA fans will feel in familiar territory though ;)

PES4!!! THIS GAME RULES!!! I'm hooked! the passing is so awsome now, its near perfect. The animation seemed a little off at first, but its the subtlety of it that makes you realise how its actually improved. However, there is a drop in frame rate when theres a lot happening on screen, but it never really becomes a problem once you get used to it. The players look more realistic than ever and Italian teams all have the proper names etc.. meaning Milan are correct. Milan are good in the game and many players have been improved (although some are still underrated).

Theres also incredible depth in the gameplay, with numerous defensive and offensive plays, beatifully designed to make it easy for the player to implement the moves. Lets just say, this game is amazing and hardcore football fans and non-football fans can enjoy it just as much ;)

hey Lorenzo, how is PES4 going?

I'm currently doing a league season with Milan on 4 star (I'm completing all the competitions and buying stuff before master league)

I can play on 5 star difficulty and win, but I realised doing a whole season at that level would be a struggle as players noticeably get tired throughout a season. I think its important to learn how to play efficient football and try conserving players fitness when playing.

A quick warning before you buy too much :D

In the master league when you buy players there is an "unbelongings" section. If you have bought the "greatest teams" option (Brazil, Argentina etc) then this folder will have some interesting surprises for you. Available after maybe a season will be 17 year old wonder kids such as Pele and Maradona which leaves you to chose whether to buy them yourself or risk other teams taking them. I chose the first option which makes my team practically invincible even on level 6, but it does ruin the game slightly as ,for example, Pele's shots are so good they actually go through a lot of the keepers

This game is quite famous and I hear it is good. GTA is brilliant imo, but I do think at times its overhyped. I love the freedom of GTA, but its understandable that you get kind of lost when playing them, as at times you might end up wandering around pointlessly

Well, I don't really think its possible to say GTA lacks storylines, the latest ones have a solid storyline and San Andreas seems to have a good storyline (although its still early to tell).

To me personally, it seems like the structure of the game is really important to you. As in a game must have some linearity in it to feel as though there is a solid progression being made throughout and the focus is always the plot and main events of the game (ie. not being sidetracked)

Speaking of GTA, I started San Andreas today, enjoying it so far, basically just getting the hang of it and doing the early missions.

The first mission is in Sicily..you've got to enter into a Don's house and kill him plus other subtargets..i'm doing it with the max difficulty but i haven't reached the perfection of SILENT ASSASSIN, just the level before of PROFESSIONIST..

It's pretty good if you play it stealthily, on the contrary getting into places and shooting like a crazy will turn to be boring..There's great satisfaction in accoplishing missions without anyone notice it, and believe me, it'll be damn hard with the max level of difficulty..

you can fit into places in disguise, changing your clothes with you victim's ones, but if you pass too closely, guards will recognise you..for ex.you've got to use thier guns, otherwise they will recognise you if you f.ex.carry a knife..the more you kill from short distance and in silence, the more it'll pay off..sometimes the best solution is using a simple sedative, which is damn dangerous though..for ex.. the sicilian rope is the best solution to kill from behind and totally silenced..in the first missions yous guns won't be silenced so you'll have to learn this technique

It's a great game, but remember : play it stealthily and if you accomplish your missions you'll feel a bit like Luca Brasi :devs: ;)

Dev, are you going to import Metal Gear Solid 3 ? I've heard it's supposed to be very good.

Around this time next week i should have Resident Evil 4 ! I can't wait for that :D

Today i also played on someone's Nintendo DS ... it's fantastic, an incredible machine ... the touch screen and pen tool are great ... i'm not a fan of handhelds usually, but maybe i'll get one of these :D

I don't import games, but I might make an exception for Xenosaga ;)

As for MGS3, I'll definately get it, but when its out in the UK :)

damn you :D I have to wait for Resi 4 (I've gotten interested after reading the reviews ;) )

The DS seems pretty cool, but PSP if done properly will be much superior imo

so does anyone know about a European release for Xenosaga or Xenosaga 2?

i don't think much of the psp to be honest, if it was different maybe i would like it. But there's nothing about it that's different ... no unique control system, no dual screen, touch pad ... it's just the same as most of the other handhelds out there except it's more powerful. If there was more innovative ideas attached to it ... i might like it better.

hey guys, I'm a little stuck on PES4

I just started master league and can't find any classic players in the transfer window whatsoever.

basically, I've unlocked everything in the PES shop from before, so as far as I know they should be there in ML.

Could someone explain how to buy the classic players please?

thanks in advance :)

The review was on ign,

Reviewers are often nothing more than advertisers, especially on big sites like IGN which is a pure hype site. If some little gamedeveloper make the worlds best game it is dubious that they even will review it. The scores is not something I would get to stuck on for any game.

The importance lies in what they said and their impressions. I sort away all things like "It rules" and "It is awesome". No, wether features that they promised is there and that they work show how good the game are and so on.

You may need to complete a full season before they appear in the unbelongings section. If you've alrady completed a season and they still are't in there then i dont know why

any detailed review?

almilan
22-01-2005, 10:49
have not a detailed review gio but basically burnout is like an arcade racer, you can really feel the speed when you are driving, you get boosts for dangerous driving (driving wrong side of the road and for crashing into rivals causing them to crash etc) when you crash you lose a few seconds, its not the end of the race. by the way you will crash because you are always going too quick. i had burnout 2 as well but i sold that

Burnout games are arcade racers. Unlike Gran Turismo, the focus is not on simulating a real driving/racing experience, but rather inducing a thrill of an adrenaline rush. I'll specifically talk about Burnout 3 here.

The aim is to win races like in any racer. However, the sheer sense of speed while playing is incredible and actually comparable to futuristic speed racers Wipeout and F-Zero. While racing, you also get a boost bar which builds up to provide short bursts of incredible speed when used (think underground racing where people use nitros). To make things harder, you race around busy streets and motorways trying to avoid civilian cars.

However, as well as the emphasis on racing, there is a huge emphasis on crashing and taking out opponents. The developers have put in a great effort to make crashes spectacular and its possible to gain control over the car even after crashing to try and knock other opponents before they pass you. Taking other cars out brings in an element of road wars. Basically, the aim is to make other cars crash to stop them troubling you. When "takedowns" are done, its your boost bar will become bigger, meaning you can boost for longer. However, crash and it gets smaller again.

As well as having races, you can do crash mode and road rage mode. Crash mode gives you the chance to make the most incredible crashes possible to get money and points to unlock things in the game. Road Rage on the other hand, is a mode where you drive around a circuit destroying as many opponents as possible before your car is destroyed.

There is one other mode which is the main single player game (world circuit mode I think). In this mode you have to win races, do crash mode and other things to unlock items/cars/races in the game.

The gameplay is absoloutly stunning, as even though there is a massive sense of speed, the controls are tight and so you always feel you have control. The opponents have decent AI and will attempt to knock you off the road to, as well as gain revenge if you took them down before. Its very easy to get into but very hard to master and races are always close (meaning you never lose the opponents if your first or last), increasing the thrill factor.

Graphics are also excellent, as they are clear, bold and sharp. The crashes are beautiful to watch and EA have to be given credit for the polish they have added to the title.

Music and sound effects are superb for the game and even if its not your type of music to listen to (kind of punk rock mostly), you will enjoy playing the game to this music, as they fit hand in hand.

Its got great gameplay, graphics, sound and depth. Its accessible to newcomers and will always provide a challenge to experienced players. As far as arcade racers go, its the best I've ever played. A must buy for all gamers unless you purely hate racing games.

Hope this helps Gio :)

I've completed my first season in PES4 and can now buy classic stars, but San Paolo and San Billy retired

Is it safe to assume I will be able to buy them again after the new season is over (like I had to wait for classic players)? It would kinda suck if they were gone for good as I only just started it.

Also, anyone know anything about Xenosaga games? (as you can guess, I'm obsessed with them :tong: )

from my experience
after the player retired, they won't necessarily come out straight away
in my case i have to wait for 2/3 seasons
so just b patient if they haven't come out yet

besides milan has a very good def already
i suggest u get arce, since cafu is also old
for cb no need to worry, nesta n stam can last for a while

n another thing if u buy player try to get them when they r under 26 or so
most player will start deteriorating their skill when they r 26-28

i only had owen, gerard n ronaldinho for 1 season n when they r 26 they start losing skill
:faint:

n if u get player, try to do trade, so u won't spent too much money n can get rid of the player that u don't want or need

yeah they will arrive in a year or 2, looking exactly as they did when they retired. Which means that 17 year old Di Stefano is already quite bald :D

i only had owen, gerard n ronaldinho for 1 season n when they r 26 they start losing skill

New question for PES fans ;)

I've been doing the pre-season training and as expected, the players stats are going up. Now, is there a limit as to how much training you can do (to build up stats) or can you just keep developing players forever??

Again thanks for the help :)

so far i still don't know about that as well
some players stop training at diff time
pirlo still improve when he was 27, gattuso 28
while ronaldinho, owen n gerard already losing their skills at 26
but tomasson still hasn't loss his skill at 30
my chivu stops improving at 24

so i still don't know what factors affect them

I think you misunderstand, I meant the pre-season (off season) training where you build up players bodies for the new season. Here every player improves irrespective of age and whether or not they can actually improve. The question is, is there a limit as to how much players can develop in this training?

When can i sign a proper striker? Njorgo is slow, Castolo is a donkey with the ball , Barota is the only i rely, the only with the guts to bomb their arses, and Minanda is a creative player

I want a Bojinov like player, quick and with a stunning shoot, because i often arrive near the box but these donkeys waste my game

Any suggestion on picks for the transfer spot? it's my first season but i'm doing well despite the odds

I think it depends on the player. Each player can improve only once per skill per week but the amount they improve varies wildly. Rooney on my game always improves massively whereas Zola and Djorkaeff barely move no matter what i do. If you get players that you know will be good (the legends for example  ) then they should be able to improve at a decent pace. Remember to play friendlies too :D

i think that if you play with crappy players you learn to play very well, much more than with the superstars

i've started the serie a with milan but there's no fun, i have to put the six stars.

I don't necessarily agree, I think everyone develops in their own way. Normally, playing with those crappy players never helped me much, but simply doing the training and being patient before getting onto a new difficulty has helped me far more.

You would love the game Dev, it really is fantastic. If you look at it from "What do i actually have to do" kind of way, then it's pretty simple ... just shoot everything, try not to die and pick up items. Although i guess you can break almost any game down into those sorts of points. But the storyline, tension, subtle extras and visual effects make the game superb.

I can say, I am not a "Videogamer" ...I can for sure call myself a "Messengergamer" :D

I just love to beat Reza playing Solitair-showdown :lala: :lala:

:haha: :haha:

Its a "gaming" thread, preferably about videogames and I would say msn games count as videogames ;)

As far as I know it is fairly similar to Sims. However, I have a great lack of interest in the game tbh :tong:

I think I've mentioned Metal Gear Solid 3 before, so I'll just repeat myself and say its great! PLAY IT!! :D

Ico is an old PS2 game I finally got lately. Truely incredible and beautiful. Its about a boy who has been trapped in a castle for having horns and must try to escape with a girl he meets in the castle. The characters interact incredibly well as you must try solving puzzles together using teamwork. I recommend this to all and keep an eye out for the sequel, which is currently being called "Ico 2", "Nico" and "Wanda and the giant" (something like that), as no specific name has been given.

Also, Ace Combat 5 is a very good game and fans of the series will love it.

Finally, PLAY GT4!!!! Simple as that ;)

I play only PC games (no money to buy a console).

Playing right now - Painkiller. Very nice game. You have to shoot everything that moves and also everthing that does not move.

For high detailed graphics, and excellent gameplay (well, first person shooter-wise) try Far Cry. Probably the best game out there since Half-Life(the first one)
Its not the latest game out there but its bloody beautiful!

Right now, I'm playing The Sims 2! Not too difficult. Just for casual relaxing gaming.
And if you get bored, there are numerous ways to commit mass murder!!
There was this scenario in the game about a family, where it said in the introductory notes, 'Who is buried in Olive Specter's garden?'
Assuming it may be someone famous I loaded up the family, only to find out that they was just useless Sims I've never heard of before.
So I just rectified the situation by creating rough look-alikes of Harry Potter, Luke Skywalker, George Lucas, Hansel, Gretel, the witch who wanted to eat them, and having the Specter family murder them and bury them in their back-yard!!!

It's John Motson who does the commentry with Ally Mcoist iregk. I noticed the Pirio mistake, man that's annoying. They also changed Giuly's name too, so now it's pronounced more like Jelly :googly:

To be honest most of the commentry is badly executed. You can be first in the league by alot of points and they still say "This is why they are near the top of the table". You can pass the ball in basically a straight line and Ally will say "The most important thing there was the switch of play". I scored from outside the box and it was labelled as "A typical goal mouth scramble". Alot of it just doesn't make sense, EA should have worked on the script more. Two of my favourites though were being labelled as a team that has shown inconsistent form throughout the season - after i had won 16 out of 16 in the league. The other is more of a bug in the game, for some reason one of Motson's quotes comes out at the wrong speed and it sounds like he's swallowed a balloon full of helium :D

It's an enjoyable game though none-the-less.

Splinter Cell 3 comes out pretty soon. I'm hoping that'll be another classic.

Has anyone here played the new Timesplitters : future Perfect?

I played a demo lately and its very good. Crisp, clean and a lot of fun like the other Timesplitters games (I really like Timesplitters 2).

I may consider getting the game now actually

Is that right Dave, i'll have to listen out for that one :D

More things that annoy me a little about the game are the look of some of the players, particularly Ferrari and Ze Maria ... who are both now white :googly: Not sure how you can get skin tone that badly wrong.

I still like it though, yesterday i bought Xavi, Metzelder, Duff, Toure and Robinho. I'm pretty good at wheelin' and dealin' :D

Play as milan and take a look at Kaka, could they have gotten it any worse!!!

But I know what you mean about the other commentary, for once I got a 25 yarder on target the other day right into the top corner. Motson: "The shot from Shevchenko just rolls over the line"

Oh in case anyone thinks it looks great and that stay well away from Fifa Street. Its so bad its not even funny... Is it just me or is EA's quality in their games drastically going down and down with each game...

If any of you like RPGs that are complex, with a lot of dialog and sidequests like Final Fantasy I-XII, Fallout 1 and 2, Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale or Neverwinter Nights, can u pls recommend something for me to play similar to those (on the PC or PSX, since I don't own a PS2 yet)?

Redman, I definately, DEFINATELY recommend Vagrant Story. Its similar in theme and style to a Final Fantasy game, though its set mostly in dungeons and the battle system is very unique.

Simply put, one of my fave games ever and critically it was very highly acclaimed ;)

i played it and i found it very fun but there are thing that make you think "why havent they made something more of that?" .. like the gamebreaker... they couldve had something more jaw dropping... and personally i like it when in reality the ball just sweeps through the net... they should made the nets look more loose like in NBA street, also they should have allowed the player to use the original up and down buttons instead of the analog... i hate using it!!! other than that i found it really fun.

def jam fight for NY was kinda annoying, the graphics look excellent but the style of fighting is much much worse than vendetta... once u gt hold of ur opponent it seems that u can only perform one move...

actually all consoles are pretty much equal, but i prefer the ps2, dunno why...........

about ea and fifa 2005,

yes the game is rushed...... and the commentators really do suck, and in career mode ........well they could of made some more player names....... i mean half the players are called Terzi, Pazzini, De Franceschi and Sorrentino in the serie a after my 6 year. that totally sucks
but at least the game play is nice.......

As soon as I'd finished writing it I spoted straight off that it had console war all over it!!!

But your totally right, its all personal preference. Some peope like Sony and prefer the PS2 me I prefer my xbox because of the HD I use it as my media center for mp3 and music/video about the house. Each to their own really.

Interesting legal case popped up in the last few days. Anyone heard Sony have had to stop selling the PS2 in Japan and Ame
