View Full Version : A job well done...
... always deserves recognition! Agreed? According to an article Italian champions AC Milan are in pole position alongside clubs like Manchester United and Real Madrid, in terms of marketing the club on the global stage. Today Galliani announced that increased revenues from the global market has given Milan another 60 Million Euros (approximately). Additional money to the clubs budget that might be used to strengthen the squad. Galliani further added that Milan are now financially superior in Italy and in Europe we stand alongside Real and United. In China almost a third of the football community supports us and we are also expanding in the middle east and in USA added the vice president.
Milans commitment on foreign markets brings in great revenues to the club, but it´s not based on luck. Our progress on the global stage is based on a carefully planned marketing approach concluded Galliani. In addition, last Monday Milan signed a contract with Pepsi which is worth ??? = a lot!
Milan are apparently solid and strong and for that I applaud Galliani and the rest of our management. for a job well done, keep it up!! and before I forget bring me Gilardino, I´m waiting... :web:
Furthermore it has been reported that in Rome the Roma supporters approach now have changed from :nunu: to :w221:, hehehe :firedev:
Forza Milan!!!!! :3band:
Yes, this is a commercial success story, and certainly good for Milan.
Todays' football teams rely more and more on TV revenue, big companies sponsoring contracts, merchandising (tee shirts, etc), general ad revenue, even Internet revenue and less on "live" stadium attendance. It is not enough for a big club to have a "home" fan base, you need to have worldwide exposure.
To increase the exposure, clubs like Real, Manchester United and Milan work on "name recognition" (almost like a commercial brand), play up the national origin card (there must be 120 million people of Italian origin around the world)and buying "Hollywood" type superstar players (Ronaldo, Beckham, etc.), plus, of course, public relations.
The result: millions of excited Japanese teenage girls buy Kaka tee shirts (I wonder why?...), old men in Brooklyn ask their TV cable operator for RAI, or Gol TV so they can watch Milan and Maldini (va bene...), and, if Crespo scores a few more goals, young men in Cordoba, Argentina will pay 30 dollars for a jersey with his name on it. It is all great, and increases the revenues.
As long as we do not spend the money foolishly and "buy" every name player in sight (remember Rivaldo?). Except for a good, young Italian striker such as Gilardino or Miccoli (the one we missed last year).
And, of course, keep winning. The world at large has no patience for losers, they are not real "dedicated" fans...
regarding international recognition just look at all the different nationalities here.
its good news as increases our financial power.
from an Irish perspective most football fans support english priemership teams or celtic.
there is very few milan and italin teams supporters in general like me
on the otherhand milan, juve & inter are a lot of irish peoples 2nd favourite team and around college you would regularly see milan, juve and inter jerseys and the odd roma and lazio jersey

guys have you ever tried with sky europe or milan channel? sorry for my ignorance but i don't have a clue of satellite or cable telly
With the eventual expansion of Milan Channel to other countries and further affiliations with Anglo companies, Milan's exposure and profits will increase even further.
Nevertheless, Galliani will always seek to get players for free.....
Forza Milan

Yes, I guess it does ;) :D :D
Triniman, yes, if you asked for RAI, you are an old Italian man from Brooklyn.
I bet you play bocci, eat vitello a la bolognese, and carry the scopetta as well.
Somehow I have trouble picturing Triniman playing bocci, talking wise guy..."forget aboud id" :)
