Tomasson Flattered By Barça Interest
11/26/2004 8:22:00 PM
Jon Dahl Tomasson has admitted he is flattered by the reports that Barcelona are interested in taking him on loan in the January transfer window.
But the Danish international stated that he has had no contact with the Catalan giants and is concentrating on earning a place in Milan's starting line-up.
"It is always positive when you are linked to club like Barcelona," Tomasson explained. "But I am only thinking about fighting for a place here at Milan.
"I can say that absolutely nobody from Barcelona has spoken to me or my representatives."
Barça are rumoured to want to take the former Newcastle forward on loan until the end of the season to replace the injured Henrik Larsson.
Why dont we just swap him with ronaldinho ???
I think Tommasson plus $25mill will be enough...

AAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA... wow... sorry, but I was actually laughing when I read this.
Lemme explain, currently, Barca has four, maybe five long term (six to eight month) injuries, all players who would usually start. Not only does Barca NEED EXTRA players, they would NOT let go of Ronaldinho. And if they did, I'm sure his buy-out clause would be more than JDT + 25 M...
Not only will Milan NOT get dinho, they can't think about swapping. A swap deal is NOT an option for Barca, unless they plan on buying two more players
(which they don't
unlikely. both JDT to barca will probably not happen and certainly JDT swapping with ronaldinho. Firstly whilst JDT is a great player when on song and Braca would be lucky to have him, he's also EC cup tied, if barca are serious about trying to win the EC (which they should as along with Juve and ourselves they are most capable) then they need players which will be able to play in it.
and such a swap deal will never happen, if barca wanted a trade with us as part of the deal we would have to really give them someone, not just a back up player. Gattuso most likely, as they need someone like him in the midfield, and no one in milan is ever going to put a price on Gattuso. I wouldn't straight swap the two let alone Gattuso + 25m.
Barça and Milan were the two clubs fighting for Tomasson's signature 2 1/2 years ago; I guess the rumour is based on the facts that Larsson is long-term injured, Crespo has started scoring while Tomasson hasn't had the best start to the season.
Like meazza said, unlikely.

Tomasson refuted the deal in the article posted. I think its just rumours.

milan just tied him down to a long term contract.....so obviously we will weaken ourselves and help strengthen our biggest rivals for the CL.....makes perfect sense to me......
there is also rumours that chelsea asked for him in exchange with crespo if we want to keep crespo
It's everyone opinion that Barca will not sell Dinho to ANY CLUBS!!
but .. Wake Up!! This is Modern football...
Juve sell Roby Baggio
Lazio sell Nesta
Inter Sell Ronaldo
Barca did too..
Liverpool sell owen
Man u sell Becks... etc.....
So? I think if we come with the right offer to barca , then He is Ours!!
Beleive me... Everything is possible!!! Just like 2 years ago when Everybody does't beleive Lazio will sell Nesta.... despite Lazio have a huge debt (SO DO BARCELONA)
Ronaldinho Will be a milan player If Galliani came to Juan Laporta and make the right offer ... THats for sure .... 100% .. Now the problem is how much can Galliani offer to Laporta to make Dinho came to Milan ?????

same thing for Savi though, he won't be available for CL
Lose Tomasson.
What a stupid idea. It loox like it was not created by Berlusconi&co.
Jon is ours and will be for some years in future... I do not doubt. He is great enough to play on Milano.
:de3: !Forza Jon! :de3:

That is the problem, and indeed why this "news" should have been posted in transfer/rumour thread.
Can blame you for dreaming though :)

I have to agree. Every man has their price and so is Ronaldinho/Barcelona.
However, I do not believe the article. If we are about to buy Ronaldinho, it is either "cash only" deal or including someone who's our star player. JDT, in my humble opinion, isn't classified as "star" by papers or journalists, but to me, he is one of the heroes in this Milan.

Stop?? Why should i ??
Everybody can have their dream...
I think everybody have their dream....
I really don;t mind if galliani swap Tommason with DInho..
Then the next year.... :p283: :p283: :p283:
none of us mind that
but its impossible!
i would love to have ronaldinho in our team, but to send away anyone will be a pain for me, simply because i love every player in milan, even RJ in black and red (not his current jersey, another ugly black and red :D), let alone JDT, who contributes so much to our last scudetto.
i don't think barca will let go ronaldinho either, what's the odds for that?

we are a better club then barcelona and they have huge debts
they are planning to buy 2 more players.thats funny barcelona have 150 million euro debts and we had about 60 million euros profit last year

ı think we will sign gilardino and a.madrid will give our 23 million euros.and we will sign solari and mesto.
also we will sign a defender because of billys departure.
also we must find a replacement for ambrossini maybe jenas from newcastle or maniche.
ı also think we will sign a left back and we will send kaladze away
one of maxwell or evra
what do you think about that?

What does it make you to think Milan aren't in debt? According to what I read previously, the only two clubs aren't in debt in italy are Bologna and Brescia (I am not sure about Brescia thou, Juve? anyone?) Milan makes profit but doesn't mean the profit pays off all the debt.
I think Milan signing Ronaldinho is wishful. If it happens, excellent. If it doesn't, I am not gonna be mad about it. Anything more than 40 million euro, i would say 'forget 'bout it'. Mind just save that money to strength up the defense to prepare for our captain's retirement.

why get rid of kala??? he's done nothing but bleed for this team and be a great player, have faith and he'll return to the world class player we all know he is...
and if you want a back up to prilo i don't think we need to look much further than vincenzo grella of parma, an excellent player, who similar to pirlo is an expert at player penetrating long balls and at holding play and distributing play
if we needed another defender i don't think we should get anyone but p. cannavaro, bonera or dario hubschmann. really the only three young defender who would be good enough to repace billy

actually to clear it up abit....milan are not in debt, but we are not in the black either.......
we make enough profit that covers our bills , but for large sums of money we rely on the president .....being in debt is like being roma , or leeds or lazio...clubs that have to sell stars in order to pay bills....

anything to keep the conversation going :)

milan doesnt treat their players that way, we rnt inter. Its bad to make that many changes to the lineup at the same time because u r gambling too much. plus milan treats their players very good and is loyal to them and acknoledges what they contributed to milan throughout their career.

That self-quotation is real cracking. Speaking in terms of football, left foot passes the ball to the right and back to the left. It's like my left hand talk to my right hand back and forth...Damn, it's real psyc yo :delol:

I still don't think it's that easy. Laporta, Rijkaard, and Dinho are not giving up without a well fought fight.
Ok, hold up, lemme back up. First of all, I assure you Dinho's not leaving in the winter. I can give you that. The situation with the injuries is not going to allow that to happen to easily. If he DOES leave, it's in the summer, but Dinho has made it clear that he wants to stay here untill he returns to Brazil, and we all know Laporta wants that too.
Now about the debt, judging by the way Barca handelled the problem over the summer, it looks like they don't even CARE about it. Then they rejected a pretty good offer to place a name on their jersey, so again, They are clearly not desperate.

so we're not in the red OR the black?
have I been watching the wrong team for 13 years??!?!?!?!?!!?!? ;)
I don't think we'll sign Ronaldinho, for one i think his arrival would have to much of an impact, I know that sounds a wierd thing to say but really, we're an awesome team right now in need of a few tune ups. we don't need a massive boost or such an upsetting influence, if we signed ronaldinho, all eyes would be on him and he would have to play every game, if we won and he played poorly it would be seen as failure. I think we'll sign Gilardino, there's too much talk to ignore it, unlike Tevez who was only ever mentioned in passing. I would like to see Emre move over to us, I feel he would be cheaper than most of the linked midfielders and given a season would be an extremely dangerous addition to our midfield, the swap with Abiati is fine by me, and we should get him soon as possible to stop the inter rot. A young defender must also be bought if colocinni is not considered good enough to cope with full first team football.
