mate if i could, i would for sure

but unfortunately my uni works, plus the upcoming first of the year in london will not allow me to spend moenys more..i'm a student after all

I'm sure the atmosphere would be amazing..anyway, if you get to wacth Kakà playing i think it can be enuff, it's a beauty worthy alone the price of the ticket :proud:

I am obviously hoping the likes of Kaka does not play!

First and foremost I am hoping for a weaker team to give Celtic a better chance of the UEFA Cup spot. And also I did get to see Kaka play in the match over there.

Yes, pity none of you are coming over, I enjoyed the atmosphere in the San Siro created by your fans, hope some of yours enjoy the atmosphere over here..

I`m also looking to get tickets, hopefully outside the milan curva!!! Is it usual for away support to take extra tickets??? I live in Scotland but am not a celtic fan, in fact I cant stand the old firm. it is no big deal for me to drive through and not get a ticket, just go back to a bar in Glasgow centre. In terms of milan fielding a weakened side, surely its important to finish top of the group to avoid the likes of Juventus, Manchester Utd etc???

The only advantage of coming 1st is that we will get the 2nd leg at home. we can not draw an Italin team or Barca next round. Chelsea would be the only possible team I would be any bit worried about. its hard to say whether we would get an easier team if we finish 1st or 2nd. at this stage if we were to come 2nd we could be drawn against psv or bayer leverkusen. on the other if we come 1st we could be drawn against real madrid or arsenal

All good points, can`t see many teams beating milan over two games. Would Crespo be allowed to play against Chelsea. I know Morientes did last year for Monaco against Real Madrid but maybe chelsea wised up to that!!!

crespo is allowed to play afainst chelsea. i wouldnt be surprised to see him follow in morientes's footsteps and score against them. I would not mind a draw because as we are 2 ahead of barca and even if they win we will be level but we have a better head to head with barca as a result of away goal. im hoping celtic qualify for the uefa cup

To those looking for tickets, I would doubt it very much, Champions League games almost always sold out at home for Celtic, and the fact we need a result in this one and it is against Milan would make spare tickets a rarity.

Not sure how many Milan have taken for the game right enough, do Italian teams usually bring a large support to away games in Europe?

Giovanni
02-12-2004, 15:28
not a large support but a tough and noisy one

As a Milan fan in Scotland I would also love to go along to the game.Likewise I have no affection at all for the "OLD FILTH" and would dearly love to see them defeated.i used to support "Scottish" teams in Europe but gave up after being spat upon outside Ceptic park and kicked by a Hun Rangers fan after having the audacity to draw with them!

FORZA MILAN

Giovanni - a noisy one is good, will help the overall atmosphere at the game!

No need for toughness though, we show hospitality to European visitors.. as we were shown by Milan at the match over there.

i just pointed out that our away supporters are tough ones, differently from the british culture which exports a lot of families for the away matches.
I agree with you it'll be a nice game with friendly attitude, but i think we can also discuss on differences about our away supporters just to spice up this discussion.

i know you're all good boys, but i read on some boards that there was some people who wanted to welcome the guys from milano with dumb attitude..stay away from them Gabba, the guys of curva aren't people to joke with

i have a friend, even friend of franco6, who is from malta..no need to specify who he is, but he has been in jail before during the maltese revolution against the british dominion..he's as big as a bull

This guy, now almost 60 y o, during MIlan-Roma after the speakers said: "DON'T THROW ANYTHING" , stupidly he threw a bottle (which luckily didn't damage anyone): it was done ingenuously because this guy isn't really used to the sUltras rules, and some of the Milan Ultras came over there to ask who was the responsible of that act...THe guy from Malta despite being a big big guy stayed silent, because if those guys beat you, they send you directly to the hospital

Just to clear up who will be the guys coming over there..i know some, they can be really nice guys, and won't annoy anyone, but if someone will bother them, there's no chance to stop them

Probably it's a useless discussion because everyone will behave like intelligent people, but i think it's interesting, because i like to have a confrontation with a different supporting culture, esp away supporting

I know what you are saying Giovanni...

And you will find the ones mentioning dumb things on the Celtic boards are just people that will say that on the internet, but would not appear in real life! :grinser:

Do you have any idea how many tickets Milan were given and sold for the game? It always makes a better atmosphere when there is a decent sized crowd supporting the away team too.

i ignore it..but they will be fairly noisy

you must consider flights cost less from UK to Europe

tell me Gabba what result do you need to qualify for Uefa spot

We are 1 point ahead of Shaktar.
Shaktar have the better record from our matches with them.
Basically we need to equal or better the points Shaktar get tomorrow night.
If Barca win we go through no matter what happens in our game.
If Shaktar drew we must at least draw, and if Shaktar win, we must win..

Sure to make a nervous night, as I think the blizzards in the Ukraine will not encourage a top Barca performance, so I think we will need at least to draw with Milan...

i heard on the radio that Henrik Larsson has offered to take every Barcelona player out for a meal if they beat Shaktar tomorrow... he still has Celtic's best interests at heart.

Apparently Shakhtar has a heated ground, courtesy of their rich owner, so we can forget visions of Ronaldinho playing in the snow. :D

However, another factor that could influence the game is the current unrest in Ukraine. Donetsk is in the east and the center of Yanukovitch's(sp?) support. It might make for a tense game. Shakhtar's strip is orange, and there's some speculation as to whether they'll be wearing it, since orange is the color of the opposition in western Ukraine.

I wonder what effect, if any, all this political stuff will have on the Barça and Shakhtar players.

Yes, I heard the story of Henrik's promise - still a Celtic legend!

Also heard of the turmoil in the Ukraine, perhaps the game should be abandoned and Barca awarded a 3-0 win? :D

A weakned Milan side this year don't have to mean that we are that bad off in any way. if you win it will be with determination as we will not be fully motivated.
