IMO, would like to see almost the same team as Sunday 28th, play again against Prama. The change I think would be to put in Coloccini and maybe Pancaro at Defense, to rest the players who have started so many games. Good to Keep Cafu in at the right, for his offensvie minded play. Leave the Mid feild as is, Ambro, Dhorasoo :rock3: Seedorf, Rui and Kaka playing the forward role, then Cespo as the only Stricker. I think that it would be to our gain to have Sheva continue on his rest, and recovery. Which the question is if he has returned to fitness as of yet??
If this line up fails to produce, then add in Sheva, or strenghten the Defense after the first half.

IMO, Sheva should b rested for this game, mayb the most would be for him to come off the bench if necessary, but if we play the way we played vs Chievo, then he wouldnt even have to make the trip.

The midfield can remain the same, with Kaka and Rui in front of Ambro, Dhorasso, and Seedorf.

I agree with derekhski that Coloccini should get a start, with Pancaro for Cafu, though mayb we should start with Cafu and bring on Pancaro after Cafu gives us one of his patented crosses that Crespo or Kaka converts for a goal.

If Gilardino is fit, and starting, which I think he is, then mayb we shouldnt fiddle with defense untuil we are comfortably in the lead....I was about to suggest that we rest Nesta, but with Gilardino on the pitch, we cannot afford to give the Parma hitman any more room than we have to.

Another close game, unless the chemistry with the forwards suddenly decreases and we cant create a goal or two, which I sincerely doubt.

Milan 2, Parma 1

What, dont think I am adventurous enuff in my prediction? Listen man this is the Serie A we are talking about, and Sheva isnt playing!

I do like Gattuso, this player puts in alot of effort and wins so many balls, but again, his passes and technique is absurd (did you see him against Shakhtar?). Did you see the number of times Dhorasoo won the ball back? And over that his skill of dribbling players with ease? And also his amazing passes? And how much he runs.. he really puts some effort in..

I think Dhorasoo should permanently replace Gattuso. Dhorasoo played as a sub in 2 games, and 1 whole game, and played outstanding in all. It was no fluke. With Dhorasoo, (considering we use the 4-3-1-2 formation), all our midfielders will be playmakers and goalscorers (Dhorasoo, Kaka, Seedorf, Pirlo).. But if we decide to have 1 striker, we can have Rui as well! Imagine that lineup, Dhorasoo, Seedorf, Kaka, Rui, Pirlo alll of them throwin in assists for Sheva.. I'd predict a 3-0 against Juve with that lineup!

I really think Dhorasoo is a perfect replacement for Gattuso. Only thing is that Gattuso plays with heart, he puts so much effort in.

hitmannq8, my sentiments exactly. I do admire Gattuso's heart, but IMO he is a liability in attack. He makes too many bad passes in the attacking third, and mayb the best usage for him would be as a spolier, after we have the lead, and decide to return to catenaccio.

Dhorasso to me represents the best option when we face big teams, especially with Sheva out. His runs when at Lyon were a constant source of excitement, and if he does lose the ball, it is after being fouled, usually close to the opponent's 18 yard box.

I fully expect him to start, and again at Gattuso's expense.

no we cant afford to take gattuso out of our line up, he is our ballwinner, teams like madrid or barca wud kill to have a player like dat. plus if dhorasso wuz to replace sum1, i wud rather it b pirlo rather then gattuso because pirlo is alot more inconsistent then gattuso. i appreciate everything pirlo does for our team but he has never impressed me that much

Gattuso hasn’t always been at his best this season but he’s proved his worth too often for me to call into question his importance to the team. I believe he’s one of the best if not the best at what he does. What he lacks he makes up for in attitude, character and morals.

Apart from that, great that Dhorasoo has been showing good form, it’s very positive, the fact that we have one further useful alternative. This however doesn’t mean there needs to be a victim. And as for Gattuso, obviously he'll be rested when needs to be and right now we can afford it but I bet he’s one of the last players Ancelotti would want to miss on a regular basis.

I think the 2 strikers against Parma will be Sheva and Hernan. Midfield will be composed by Pirlo, Gattuso, Seedorf and Kaka, while in defence will play Cafu' Nesta Maldini and Pancaro.

Sheva and Tomasson should both be fit for the game

I just do not like Seedorf although he sometime put a positive effort to the team. But his form is really not stable, you never know if the boy gonna bring his best performance or the worst proformance. Why the manager is being so coward, Dorasso is a creative player, we should give him more time to show his great ability in the game.
Also i really think it is the time that milan shoule bring a young midfield talent from their youth squad. Coz only the man who grows up from Milan can be the soul of the team, which is the main tradition of Red n Black.

Dhorasoo just played a whole game. I think Gattuso will start the game against Parma while Dhorasoo will play against Celtic in the CL.

I don't think Dhorasoo should start instead of Gattuso. If anything, he should start on Pirlo's or Seedorf's spot. It is true that Seedorf is not that consistent. However, when he performs good, he is one of the best in the world. He is an all around midfielder. He attacks excelent. Defends good and recovers balls. He is a tough player. Pirlo on the other hand is a magical player. He may not control the whole flow of the game, but one pass can give us the win. Just like the pass he made to Sheva on the Nou Camp. It was amazing.

My oppinion is......for now, Dhorasoo is a great back up player, that can give any of our midfielders a great break by even starting a game. What makes him really special though, is that we do not have to be warried for anything, because now we know that this guy can even raise up the level when he playes in a game. Some substitutes have hard time to keep the level where it is. This guy can even raise it higher.

We should really keep him. Untill now none of us were sure if he should stay or go. Whether he should go in January or in the Summer. I know i was one of those people. Now however, a lot of things are clearing up, and this guy can do us only good and NO harm.

As for the line-up, I would go with the best one. We are already through in the Champions League and we do not need to rest anyone except Kaka.
I know that Carlo will play Kaka, however looking at the minute-by-minute stats he has played over a thousand minutes. While Rui has shown signs of great form. I think it is time to let him back in the playmaker role and give Kaka some rest.

[B]Hi

Listen everybody, we don't need to get into details here on strategies of what Milan will do in this match with Parma. It's very simple, Milan is going to win the match. Milan 99.9% of the time wins, so why bother even thinking of what Milan should do to setup for this match. Milan has played good clubs and bad clubs and won 99.9% of the time, so why the Hell are you people worried about strategies ?? Leave the deciding to Milan for what they want to do against Parma. Our job is just to support them by cheering for them.

AC Milan ALWAYS Wins :)

It bothers me to see Milan win with difficulty. I would love to see my Milan side win with easy and impressing me so I can go and tell people that we are the best team in the world.

Warro Bantan

hitmannq8, wouldnt we all like to see Milan win easily? Unfortunately this is football we are talking about, and the Serie A in particular, one of the most (if not the most) challenging leagues in the world!

What is important is that we win inspite of how poorly we play, the good performances with the right results will come later on as the team's chemistry meshes properly.

And to AC_Milan_4ever, if we are not to discuss strategy, then what are we to discuss? I hope u were being sarcastic...but if not, I suggest that we simply close these forums, and just have one, where we predict the scorelines of the Milan victories, since we win 99% of the time.:D

IMO, these forums allow us to share our "thoughts" for those of us that have them :D about team selection, formation, etc, which to many allow for a release of pent up emotions, or simply represent a way to shoot the breeze with fellow Milan fans.

My suggestion to you is to just post ur prediction, and dont bother reading the other posts, as this may interfere with your cheering. :D

In Serie A Milan has won 8 out of 13 games, or 62% of the time. Juventus has won 10 out of 13, or 77%. Inter has won 2 out of 13 or 15%.

Just wanted to get the numbers straight. :)

[B] Hello AGAIN :D

You know, we may discuss strategies for AC Milan, but we also have to remember that we're not the ones who are making the final decisions for the Club's plan to win their matches. Throughout history, Fanatics of Milan have discussed whatever they want and it never made a difference because we are not working for AC Milan :P. Therefore, it's pointless for us to say what "we" want them to do. No matter what happens, we'll continue to love, admire, and support AC Milan (Because they rule and they're THE BEST) :D. However, also throughout the history of the Club, we've cheered for them and if you ask me, I believe that's all they desire from us (Just continue to chant Milan and cheer them on). What more can a Club ask for from their Fans ?...Nothing else but cheering. Basically what I'm trying to say is that, no matter which strategy they choose to play and no matter whoever ends up playing for AC Milan, all we have to do is support them from Home and at the Giuseppe Meazza Stadium :). That's all that matters.

AC Milan ALWAYS Wins :D

Shev available for Parma Wednesday 1 December, 2004

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Italian champions Milan have been boosted with the return of Andriy Shevchenko from injury.

The Golden Ball contender has spent the last two weeks on the treatment table but is back in training.

Shevchenko joined the rest of his colleagues on Tuesday following the 1-0 win over Chievo at the weekend.

The Ukrainian international is now expected to be selected for the Week 14 game against Parma.

Boss Carlo Ancelotti is set to field him alongside Hernan Crespo – who has scored four goals in his last three games.

There is further good news at Milanello after Billy Costacurta and Jon Dahl Tomasson have also proved their fitness.

The defender and the attacker are available for selection again but neither are set to be a part of Ancelotti’s first team plans.

I think we will win this match clear! and parma are much weaker than chievo!
My favourite line up:
Dida
Cafu-Nesta-Maldini-Kaladze
Gattuso-Pirlo-Dhorasoo
Kaka
Shevchenke-Crespo

But i think that carletto will let play pancaro instead of kaladze and seedorf instead of dhorasoo! May prediction: milan will win 3-0. Goals from Sheva(2) and Crespo(he will not stop to score)!!!

If we were to stop providing our opinions, then not only would Milanmania be an inactive site, but all the bars, resturants, and other various places, including pick up games in the park, would cease to have the community, conversations and enjoyable banter about who, you, I and the other persons think will play, win or lose. Imagine a day at the San Sari without a discussion, of what you would like to see happen. I think all of us know that we do not influence the selections, but we have fun discussing and building the various idea's, So enjoy yourself, chat freely, and make a prediction, its not that you have to be right, its that you create discussion, debate, and communication amongst a group of people from all over the world. IMO :djn:

IMO we must be careful for this match. It ain't be easy for us because Parma have been very hard to beat at Ennio Tardini. our last player ever scored there was Pippo Inzaghi, back to 2001.

Sheva-Crespo is obviously our current best pair upfront.
in midfield we should play more "ball winner" players because Parma have many young and powerful players.
then our defence will be quite busy, they are very fast!

I think we will win with a tight margin.

With all due respect for my fellows who think that Kaka must be rested, I simply disagree for some reasons I shall point out..

- First reason, is that this is NO easy game , even if Parma is having troubles, As fellows mentioned, This is the Calcio , where the unexpected happens ..
Remember Livorno , Messina, they are no way better squad than Parma, but they could grap 5 precious points at San Siro ( those points were to make us on top with 1 point in advance of Juve right now ! )
We do not want too much confidence to harm us MORE than it already did ..
we started the season as last year's champs , a stable formation, with pretty good additions , thinking that we are UNBEATABLE , so we dropped some points ...

- Second reason, this is an important game too , as the point difference has decreased .. so for any thing happens, if we dont keep the difference, it should be decreased more ( unexpectedly Lazio will hurdle Juve 2morrow ) , and if that happens , we get to 2 or 1 points difference, which can be flipped over on the following week when we meet Juve ( if Juve fails to win against Lazio, and Milan Devils kick the hell outta JuveDrugz, then we will be on top of the table , as We BELONG ) !!

So, for these reasons, I prefer to play Kaka tonight , and rest him for CL , and if it is a choice , I would prefer to see Kaka and Rui together tonight !

Yes we must rest our players , but also Yes we must choose the appropriate time ...

Another topic ,, the story about discussing formations and strategies ... well, I think Milan has given me a joyfull talking material to my friends during the past 10 years .. when Sacchi , Capello , Zakeroni , Maldini , even Terim , were managers, I didnt stop for a single match suggesting formations and critisizing wrong selections .. As far as i know , they never heard a single word of my suggestions, but do I care ? NO .. I say that coz Milan is part of me , more like the blood that runs in my viens, wether they know or not, as far as Im concerned, I know I love milan , and I know doing that makes me happy :) :) :)

Cafu , Maldini , Nesta , Pancaro
Gattuso , Pirlo , Seedorf
Crespo , Sheva

Guys im really worried, I have this terrible feeling that Sheva has lost his form because of the long break without playing some football :(. I hope im wrong.

Does anyone know how can I watch the game? Because the TV channels in Canada don't broadcast midweek games, nor the early Saturday game :(
