View Full Version : Bolivar - Boca Juniors (pre-game comments)
;)
yea well, not that I expect many people to be interested in this, but it is very important to me and I just needed to 'let it out' somewhere.....for the first time ever a Bolivian team reached the finals of a continental competition. :star: Bolivar :star: beat various teams to reach the final of the South American Cup. There awaits Boca Juniors....we are definitely the underdogs, but hey, we came this far, we don't want to stop now :firedev:
These are great times for us Bolivaristas
You should be happy now that Tevez is with Corinthians. :grinser:
Actually Tevez is in Boca, probably until the end of the year, so he will most likely play the finals.
The first final will be in Bolivia on the 8th. The return match will be in Argentina on the 17th.....one day later Milan plays Juve in Serie A (on the 18th). Ok, so I guess it is in Bolivar's and Milan's hands to decide how enjoyable my holidays will be ;)
!!! VIVA EL :star: BOLIVAR :star: CARAJO !!!
!!! FORZA MAGICO :star: MILAN :star: !!!
Carlos.... you would better intoduce Bolivar and Boca to our memebers, that we can decide which team to support :D.... I mean it would be nice if you post squad lists and brief autograph of each player: birth date, place, clubs where he played, goals etc. :D
Eventually whatever happens I shall support Bolivar.... :D even Boca is one of my favorite teams in South America.....:mex:

haha, I guess I can introduce my team more properly to you.....I'll do it later.
As for Boca, well, I doubt they need much introduction. Their latest achievement was to beat non other that AC Milan to win the Intercontinental Cup :groan:
Forza Bolivar Carajo :D
that's the spirit :D
it feels good to be able to use swear words in Spanish :D
Come on Bolivar. I HATE BOCA !!!!!!!!!!!!

in the Argentine league yes, but they still have their "international touch" where they keep on winning....they are a wild card right now...the thing is, the best Boca always appears in the finals of any tournament.
I am still confident Bolivar will give them a hard time....I was actually more worried about playing Universitario de Quito, which is the team we beat in the semifinals, they were playing some of the best football in the tournament. They reached the semifinals as the only undefeated team left and hot favorites to win the title.....but of course :star: Bolivar :star: took care of them :rock3: (1-1 in Ecuador, 2-1 in Bolivia)

:de3: Fuerza Bolivar Carajo :de3:
San Billy never failed us...what happened to him in that match can happen to any of the very best footballers.

Go BOCA Go !!
Sorry for Bolivar fans :kap:
A team took a game against us ought to be great team.
Yeah, I'll beg for those phuckers (like gio called 'em) :r14:

Boca is a great team, no denying that.....but they are not the only great team around ;) . Anyway, they always seem to do much better in international competitions than in their own league, and when it comes to finals, the best Boca always seems to appear. Their current team is not much different from the one that beat Milan in the Intercontinental Cup.....
...still, yesterday :star: BOLIVAR :star: beat Boca 1-0 at our home (Tevez and company couldn't do anything against our defense  ), now there is the retun match in Argentina left.....we are 1 match away from glory.....VIVA EL :star: BOLIVAR :star: CARAJO!!!
:D
yeah we won :D :fero: Horacio Chiorazzo :fero:
well, I am still waitin for Bolivar introduction...:D
:firedev: !Fuerza Bolívar Carajo! :firedev:
yeah, we won the first match, now the second will be played on the 17th...a day before Juve - Milan....it will be interesting to see if I survive those 2 days :D
Chiorazzo is so far the tournament's top scorer this season. After Joaquin Botero (world's top scorer 2003) left us, many thought we wouldn't have a player capable of taking his place, but then Chiorazzo stood up for the challenge. ;)
As for my team's history, I would love to talk more about it rae, but I am currently busy with some stuff, so I'll just summarize it for you :D .
:star: Bolivar :star: is without a doubt Bolivia's best team. We were 12 times champions of the Bolivian National League (which started under that name in 1977). So basically we won 12 out of 26, and this year we are going for the 13th ;) . Before 1977 the League had another name and Bolivar was of course part of it, winning many times. So nationally, Bolivar is the best team. Internationally, Bolivar has always been Bolivia's best representant. Although eternally considered underdogs when playing other big South American clubs, we still managed to reach the final stages of many of the international competitions we played in (both Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana)....now few dare to consider us underdogs anymore ;) . Although we made it to quarterfinals of the South American cups many times, it was only in 2002 that we made it to a semifinal (first time for us as well as for any Bolivian club), where we barely lost to the team that would later on become the champion, San Lorenzo from Argentina. Now, in 2004, and again for the first time for a Bolivian club, we reached the final of an international competition, where Boca was waiting. We won the first final in Bolivia 1-0, and the second final will be on the 17th on the mitical "Bombonera" in Argentina. Actually, the original schedule said that the first final should be in Argentina, and the second and definitive one in Bolivia. But "somehow" CONMEBOL (South American Football Association) managed to turn it around and make the final-final in Argentina.....money issues of course, sad but true.
In short, when it comes to international club competitions, Bolivar is Bolivia, and although at national team level Bolivia is doing very poorly, at club level Bolivar always gives reasons for Bolivians to be proud of.
!!!VIVA EL :star: BOLIVAR :star: !!!
Congrats Goirre on Bolivar first leg win,i just saw the highlight and i remembered you
thanx Shomo, now there is only one match left, hopefully we will play our usual football there
OK, Carlos.... one question for you: Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana are different tournaments held in different seasons of year, rite? And do those two tournaments have same prestige?
OK, Carlos.... one question for you: Copa Libertadores and Copa Sudamericana are different tournaments held in different seasons of year, rite? And do those two tournaments have same prestige?
hey rae, sorry, I didn't see ur question before.
You could say that the Copa Libertadores is the equivalent to the Champions League and Copa Sudamericana is the equivalent to the UEFA Cup. HOWEVER, unlike UEFA Cup, the top teams of all countries qualify to the Copa Sudamericana. So basically, it is like we have two Champions Leagues per year, where the top teams of each country participate. But even if these two tournaments host the best teams of the continent, the Copa Libertadores still remains as the more prestiguous one, a clear proof of this is that the money prizes are much higher in the Copa Libertadores, and it is the Copa Libertadores winner who goes on to represent South America in the Intercontinental Cup (well, at least until this year). Last but not least, the winner of the Copa Libertadores and the Copa Sudamericana play for the Recopa (the equivalent to the European SuperCup). So far it never happended that the same team winned both Copa Libetadores and Copa Sudamericana in the same season, but under the current formar it could happen someday.
I hope that cleared everything up :D
well, now I am out for a couple of weeks, Boca -vs- :star: Bolivar :star: is going to be played in less than 24 hours, I hope that two weeks from now I'll be able to come to this thread to celebrate :rock3:

Sorry for Goirre and Rae....
Boca beat Milan then Bolivar...
I think, Goirre hate those phuckers (like Gio called 'em) so damn mush...
He..he..
Actually Peachtot, I don't hate Boca...yes, they beat Milan in the Intercontinental Cup and beat Bolivar in the South American Cup final, but that is no reason for hating them....I don't like them either, but I don't hate them.....most people around here know that the only two teams I do "hate" are Real Madrid and River Plate ;)
Anyway, we didn't win this Cup, but we came very very close...great job by the Bolivar players :proud:
