Milan, Torres lancia messaggi: "Voglio giocare in Italia"

LONG STORY SHORT: After securing Gilardino, an interview from Spain says Torres could move at the end of the season, and in that case Italy would be his first choice over EPL.

full translation please since it is a very important subject........

Gilardino, Torres, Sheva, and kaka.........wow.....

Honestly, torres is a dream transfer specially if partnered with SHEVA.......

And we dont have to forget the INTEREST on our money that Atletico still owe us....

i beleive it is 23 000 000 million... so with interest of average 3% per year....
for three years , this money should have been now almost 25 132 000.

SO we missed like 2 million interest for nothing......... i beleive Torres is ours sooner or later.........

Honestly I'm not a big fan of Spanish strikers. And while he is considered as the next big thing...vanderVaart was too.

Torres is good but Gila is better.

If you mean he's better for the hype he gets it's a wrong criterion, and btw in those list apart from Torres i just see overrated players

I have some doubts about Torres, because Spaniards never did well in Italy. Howver he is very talented.

Besides that Atl Madrid still owe us money for Javi Moreno and Contra plus that Albertini and Coloccini where loaned for a year there. So this transfer may be possible.

I agree completely. Allthough Torres may become great, Milan does need his services as it stands. Squad continuity/evolution is more important that squad revolution (a la Inter) for Milan right now.

Kompany(1986) overrated? he's 3 years younger than VDV give him time to develop, defenders/defensive midfielders peak when they are 28 (in milan it's when they turn 36) so he still has 10 years to develop so give him time
he has quality but I don't think he is ready for milan (yet)
who ever heard of nesta when he was 18?

I`d prefer Gilla over Torres! BUT I will be happy to see Torres in Milan! :firedev:

In these days there will be loads of rumours on Gilardino not coming: my opinion is DON'T LISTEN, it's a huge load of bollocks.

Milan, once we have understood a player would suit perfectly for us, doesn't change idea that easily. He will be rossonero.

Sheva said in an interview recently that he thinks Torres is loads better than Rooney.

Doesnt this mean something? ;)

SPURS RUINED MY MATE REBROV

Explosive interview with European Footballer of the Year Andriy Shevchenko; 'They were not big enough for him'

By Darren Lewis

MILAN'S star striker Andriy Shevchenko has launched a bizarre attack on Tottenham, claiming he once turned down a move to White Hart Lane because the club were not good enough.

In an amazing interview, the newly-crowned European Footballer of the Year has revealed he harbours a grudge against Spurs because of their treatment of his Ukrainian international strike partner Sergei Rebrov.

Shevchenko said: 'I still say he's one of the best strikers in Europe, and I know that for a fact.

'I think he made a mistake joining Tottenham - they weren't a big enough club for him.'

Shevchenko and Rebrov formed a devastating strike partnership for Dinamo Kiev before ex-Spurs boss George Graham broke it up and took Rebrov to White Hart Lane five years ago.

Launched

The £11million move soon turned sour, however, with Graham refusing to play Rebrov and leaving the striker on the sidelines.

Things got worse for Rebrov following Graham's sacking, with subsequent bosses Glenn Hoddle and David Pleat also leaving the frustrated frontman out of the first-team picture.

Two loan moves to Turkish club Fenerbahce followed as Rebrov launched a desperate bid to prove to Spurs that he was worth persevering with. But the north London club refused to budge and Rebrov eventually left - before being snapped up on a free transfer by West Ham boss Alan Pardew.

Even there he has struggled to gain the regular first-team football he is convinced will enable him to regain his best form.

But Shevchenko has reserved his anger for Tottenham and insists Rebrov's nightmare at White Hart Lane proves he was right to snub them five years ago in favour of a move to Milan.

Speaking in today's edition of Nuts magazine, Shevchenko launched a thinly- veiled attack on Graham in particular.

He said: 'I know that under one Spurs manager Sergei was especially unhappy, and an unhappy footballer will never play well. It makes me sad, as I know how good he could have been. When I made the decision to leave Kiev, I knew there were many clubs in Europe that were interested in me.

'Tottenham were one, but not one that I ever gave any great consideration to.

'I would have liked it if Sergei had joined Milan, because I feel we'd now be talking about him in a different light.'

While Rebrov is struggling to gain promotion to the Premiership with West Ham, Shevchenko admits he is targeting another Champions League title with AC Milan.

The Italian giants have turned down a string of enquiries from Chelsea - against whom he scored in a pre-season friendly outing last summer.

Interest

Back then, he admitted he was aware of the Blues' interest, but insisted that he was keen to continue his long-standing love affair with Italian football.

AC Milan officials also laughed off Chelsea's interest, with vice-president Adriano Galliano maintaining: 'Roman Abramovich does not have enough money to buy Shevchenko. He is happy with us.'

For his part, the striker aims to show Tottenham exactly what they missed out on by targeting another Champions League trophy.

He continued: 'I'd love to win the Champions League again, and I want to get lots more titles for AC Milan too.

'But I always think it would be very cool if my son said in 10 years' time, 'My dad, Andriy Shevchenko, was one of the greatest footballers ever.' That would be very cool.'

YOU can read the full interview with Andriy Shevchenko in the latest edition of Nuts magazine, which is out today and every Thursday.

THOUGHTS OF THE WORLD'S TOP STRIKER..

..ON CHELSEA IN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

'Barcelona look to be a world-class side, but we've also been talking about Chelsea at Milan.

'I think they've made the big European teams pay attention to them this year and, in Jose Mourinho, they've got a manager capable of winning big things.'

..ON ARSENAL IN THE CHAMPS LEAGUE

'Arsenal don't have much experience in the Champions League, but when they play, they really play. When they are on top of their game, they're the best English club.'

..ON MAN UTD, MILAN'S NEXT CHAMPS LEAGUE OPPONENTS

'Man Utd have a lot of experience in the competition, but a lot has changed since they won it - I think the players that made them great are past their best.'

..ON LIVERPOOL IN THE CHAMPS LEAGUE

'Liverpool simply won't win it. They have sold their best player to Real Madrid.'

..ON WAYNE ROONEY

'There are many other greater young players in Europe than Wayne Rooney. It's just that they don't get the same sort of exposure as he does.

'What about Fernando Torres of Atletico Madrid and my own AC Milan team- mate, the Brazilian Kaka? They are just two who are better than Wayne. The British like to make superheroes out of players.'

..ON THE BEST BRITISH PLAYERS

'People talk a lot about Michael Owen and David Beckham, but they're not always consistent. England have two of the best defenders in the world in Sol Campbell and Rio Ferdinand, and I'm not sure that they get the credit they deserve. Defenders can win matches too.'

I just want Atletico Madrid to give us the money they owe us!!! If they cannot afford to pay us then they must give us Torres and Galliani will decide what to do with him!!!

Doesnt this mean something?

it means Rooney has a new target ;)

I will never doubt Sheva's footballing ability but his judgement is dubious. He also says "he's one of the best strikers in Europe, and I know that for a fact." about a guy who has score 1 goal in 3 years (IIRC) and plays for West Ham :D

I can't believe how crappy the english media are:

I've listened the 90% of Milan's interviews in the last years and these words can't have been pronounced by Andriy..he looks like an arrogant spoilt superstar.

He's just the contrary,an humble person that respects everyone..i was sick reading the comments on english teams:

"Liverpool won't win it, simple as that" these are manipulated sick comments and i can bet evrything Andriy didn't pronounce in this way.

probably true. Luckily some English media are quite fair in the way they "translate" interviews

btw, I''m quite sure Nuts isn't particularly good to say the least

Gila and Torres both? I'd go with the one that has already done well in serie A. I also agree, I have doubts about Spanish forwards in Italy. If they really owe us the money (how long are we willing to wait on it?) then maybe Torres could be used as a tool to get someone else.

That's what I am thinking too. Rui Costa and Torres for Ronaldino anyone? (A dream, but Ronny has officially stated that he is unhappy about the managerial changes in Barca recently)

Guys, Torres is not the usual spanish player, he has sheer and brilliant class. It's clear he's a great player. I don't know if he will ever come to Milan or when but i'm sure he's a class act.

Now, i believe that he's more a target for the next years. Gila will gel with Sheva and Torres will come to slowly take Shevchenko's place in the team for the future 15 years when he will be over 30. He's been recognised as his potential heir as far as i know.

Now, it doesn't matter if he's not the done player, but that he has the potential, the skills to become that. IMO he's a great player.

Gila will arrive this year, and Torres in the future. Torres is not just a makeweight for another player.

The Ronaldinho's scenario is not bad aswell, as Henrik said, but if he moves it'll be in few years time IMHO. Don't see him moving so early
