Chelsea are ready to let Hernan Crespo join Milan on a permanent basis after telling the striker they can easily replace him.

The Argentine international is currently on loan with the Italian champions and he is eager to remain at the San Siro.

And now Crespo has revealed that the Stamford Bridge outfit have given him the green light to continue his Rossoneri career.

"Jose Mourinho (Chelsea boss) has asked me to stay," the forward told the Daily Mirror.

"But he has also said: 'If you want to go, no problem. There's a President here with a lot of money. If you go, he will buy another striker'."

Crespo, who has rediscovered his goal touch since his summer switch, has allegedly already agreed terms with Milan over a contract.

The Italian giants are now trying to reach an agreement with the Premiership leaders over a transfer fee.

The former Parma and Lazio ace was signed by Chelsea in the summer of 2003 after a £15m move from Inter.

However, poor form and an injury-plagued campaign hampered his brief stint with the London club.

I don't believe that. He did score a few goals at Chelsea but was hardly impressive.

the Corriere dello Sport suggested it's going to be Adriano for 70m. That's just completely stupid, if we where Inter I'd take it. They could buy Chivu, Samuel, Totti and some replacement striker for that and they'd have an outrageously good team. Also unless Adriano single handedly won Chelsea the league and CL next 3 seasons how on earth is he ever going to be worth it?

I wouldnt worry bout it Meazza, Chelsea's stupidity in dealing with their finance is other clubs' gain. We should just take in the money and see them destroy themselves :D

I'm actually more worried Inter do accept it, they always spend over summer and with 70m to put in the kitty they could out chelsea chelsea.

Perhaps, but their buys over the years never really proved to be worthy of a trophy :D

But you do have a point though, if Inter does get a few good players - this time it might prove costly to us... If Mancini stays I really believe Inter might have something in their hands, because IMO Mancini made the team grow mentally too.

from what i've heard chelsea want to buy adriano for 100 million €uros,
but they're willing to give away crespo for 11.5 million €uros.
if they continue this way for like 3 more years they will go bank rupt..... all they will get their money from is the premier league...........(milan will dominate europe)

btw, sehnsucht79 i agree with your statements on mancini and inter.

but i dont worry so much on the opposition when i look at milans team- i mean we are the best

Adriano for 100 million euros. I know Chelski's rich and stuff, but even that is rather far-fetched. It's bound to backfire for Chelsea eventually if they really do go for that kind of deal.

they are millions in debt already but it doesnt matter much, if Abramovich wants to he could spend this much every year for the next century

inter would be stupid to sell adriano at any price... what i like about our management is that we make it perfectly clear who we intend to sell and who we would keep at anyprice... if chelsea approached us for sheva for that amount we would definatly decline, adriano to inter is like sheva to us... they should build a team around him, if they sell him its their loss because u dont get so many players of that calibre very often

Adriano is a grand player but IMO hes not "irreplaceable" ... Inter can make a profit out of him and buy quite a number of better players if the rumours are true about his price tag to Chelsea

This isn't to do with Crespo, but is to do with Chelsea. Apparently (according to the Times newspaper) Chelsea are very close to agreeing a deal for Kaladze !!!!

I don't usually believe these things, but the story seems to be gathering a bit of momentum. Plus if Jankulovski is already agreed or 90% agreed, then Kaladze would probably leave anyway.

I hope these aren't true, he's a committed player for us.

lets hope not... i love KK, he tries so hard and to be honest hes been vital for us over the past years, when on form hes easily one of the best 3 LBs in the world even better than jankulovski but injuries have denied him of reaching his peak once more but hes getting back

On channel4 they have an article about how Mourinho wants Crespo to stay at Chelsea now he's scoring goals again. It also goes on to say that if Milan want Crespo we'll have to pay ALOT of money for him, or at least alot more thant what we're currently offering.

As good a player as Crespo is, we shouldn't be held to ransom over someone who is around 30. The money could be better spent on others.

Yah. It's ridiculous that chelsea are acting this way now - sort of like jealous friends. when they wanted Robben treated by Milan, he was more than welcome but now that Milan made it to the finals of the CL, they are acting like whining morons asking more money for Crespo. They already agreed to let us keep him, why are they hurting Crespo by forcing him to go to a club he doesn't want to go to.

One thing we have to consider with Chelsea's increased desire to keep Crespo, is what they plan to do with him. I don't believe too much that they'll want to keep him, but use Crespo, Veron and alot of money to tempt Inter for Adriano ??

It's definately a possibility.

Maybe we should save the money and buy Adriano and Gilardino :D

the poor sod who is caught in the middle of chelsea's ambitions, is crespo.

“Crespo has a big chance to come back,” the Chelsea boss told The Evening Standard. “If they want to keep him they will have to pay a lot of money. He is scoring goals, playing well and is in the European Cup Final. We would like to have him back or change him with Andriy Shevchenko.”

The Rossoneri have made no secret of their desire to make the loan move permanent, as Crespo has long been a favourite of Coach Carlo Ancelotti.

The Argentine was slowly coaxed into form during his first Serie A campaigns at Parma and has had a special rapport with the tactician ever since.

Chelsea were also seemingly happy with the arrangement, but Crespo’s scoring record for Milan of late has prompted them to push the price-tag up as much as they can.

After all, the Stamford Bridge side did pay £16.8m to take him away from Inter just two years ago, but so far Milan’s directors have offered just £5m to complete the switch.

-------------------------------------------------

HAHAHA!!! They wanna change crespo for sheva!!!
Its the funnyest thing i've ever seen!! isnt it??
Crespo doesnt worth 16.8 mil! He is 30 years old.
We can return crespo and say: " thank you wery much but,no. " We'll have sheva, gila , tomasson and pippo. That is quite enough, why spent 17 mil on someone who can play for year ore two the most..??
And, kaladze should stay, the guy is real fighter!! **** this chelsea bastards and arogant mourinho! Just get gila, he is twice crespo... And milan will never sign adriano, its almost impossible...

Im from Argentina and I wouldnt have any problem seeing Crespo return to Chelsea (Aka leave Milan).

He is a good striker to have, but not at that price. Lets keep Sheva and JDT, sign Gila and another striker on the mold of Martins and we are ready to roll.

Let Mourinho have Crespo back.

I just read that too.

Sheva for Crespo?

hahahah whatever. 5-6m is a good offer for someone that was shipped out. We'll just have gilardino instead I think. He'll just go back to being crap at stamford bridge and dosn't want to play there, yeah I can really see you keeping him. He has one year left on his contract too, so sell now or no cash mr mourinho :p

I see there is also talk on Channel 4 of Kaka heading to Chelski with Sheva!Kaka has said that he would not be interested and he believes Sheva is more than happy at Milan.Who do those Chelski people think they are?money isnt evrything-is it?if it is the Chelski people starting those rumours. We cannot sell to our big(European) rivals at any cost.>

chelsea are trying to become the new Real Madrid. Problem is Real Madrid actually have a pedigree and players want to join great teams like Milan and Real because of something that these clubs can offer other than just money.
