sorry about the stupid title but what this thread is about: should Fiorentina go down would some of there bigger players be up for sale?

would we for example be able to pick up pazzini, maresca or chiellini or maybe even ufalusi on the cheap? I rate all those players maybe not as super stars but they could be very useful squad players. or would they probably keep most of these players in order to return to serie A quickly.

this is obviously just musings and I would like to see fiorentina survive, the same question applies for Parma and I guess Roma should the unthinkable happen.

TBH I dont want these teams to go down because they actually have a lot of quality in them. Im guessing that Chiellini would probably return to Juventus; or maybe would be loaned out somewhere else but would still be under Juve.

Gilardino is the only realistic deal in Parma for both Juve and Milan, he has the most quality - and although there are still other Parma players that I enjoy watching I dont think any of them would be on the big clubs' list (but ive always liked Marchionni though!)

The best prospect would be Roma. There are so many players that I would love to snap up there. Perhaps Milan would consider Totti ? :D Cassano's rumoured to join Juventus, but other than that there are no strong rumours bout their other players leaving.. should they be relegated, they would probably leave for mid-table teams

But I honestly do not see Roma being relegated

id get gilardino, maresca or de rossi and maybe marchionni and bojinov from those 3 teams... gila without a doubt, de rossi or maresca probably de rossi, marchionni and bojinov arent neccessities, but if we need a supporting striker i might think of bojinov although there might be better options

I'm not just talking about who we'd get, I agree totally, add Chivu in there aswell. I'm wondering how it would change things, would Gilardino's price dive, and would Roma be willing to sell a lot of top players, it's obviously unlikely all Chivu, Cassano and totti will leave but would they if they got relegated. Same with fiorentina, pazzini and bojinov are recent signings would they be up for grabs if relegated or would the chiarman try and hold them together? I can see one of those teams going down. Parma probably but hopefully not as I want a win from them in their next game.

Well they arent in a great financial state either so the prices would probably go down, but as for Parma the fact that so many big clubs are chasing for Gilardino surely the biggest bidder will win ... his price tag IMO wont be exactly cheap

Parma has mentioned Gilardino will cost 35 mill pounds - a great deal of money! However, he has also been very good the last couple of seasons. As for Bojinov and Pazzani, there is no doubt that these are great talents, but in my opinion they are not ready for the big clubs just yet.
As for Roma, I cannot really see them getting relegated. Chivu is a great player, but I cannot really see where he should play. He could be the long term replacement for Maldini - correct - but would he accept sitting on the bench in one or two seasons? I do not think so. About Totti, he is superb - no doubt about that. But we have Kaka and Rui Costa in the same position, so I also see him as an unlikely signing. As for Cassano, also a big talent. But his ego is just too big for Milan. I would not cry if Juve sign him...

Chivu could defiently step into the left defense right now, he can play 3 of the 4 defensive positions aswell as almost anyone in our squad, I can't see him being benched that often. If Roma are going to sell we should step in, if not then we could hold on for a season.
