LYON MAKE TOMASSON MOVE

French champions Lyon have made a move for Milan striker Jon Dahl Tomasson.

Danish striker Tomasson has seen his first team chances limited at Milan since the arrival of Hernan Crespo, while Filippo Inzaghi would also be above him in the pecking order when fit.

French giants Lyon, who have already wrapped up their fourth consecutive league title, are looking for a top striker to bolster their squad for next season.

Despite coach Paul Le Guen's impending departure, Lyon are still looking for new recruits as they look to improve their chances of going further in next season's UEFA Champions League.

The 29-year-old Tomasson will be allowed to leave Carlo Ancelotti's side, either on loan or in a permanent deal.

Hip hip...Horaaay! Hip hip...Horaaay! Hip hip...Horaaaay! :D

This is some good transfer speculation....love it! Hope its for real!!! :1d31:

I would be a logical move IF Gilardino arrives. IF JDT leaves, I will be the first to thank him for hjs services during the scudetto season.

Jolly damn good news, Lyons interest means we won't get screwed on the price plus we could possibly use him to barter a deal for one of their players if so desired.

now i can assure i'm liking this!
No insult to JDT, but there are better on the market, and he would probably be a for-sure starter there..

ohh that's good news and i be very happy if he move from Milan , for me he is not enough good for Milan and ,i think Lyon is right team for him. and another reason is when gilla comes for him there is no place in team and he lose one more season on bench.

It's Good News, It will be good for all 3 parties involved, we need the money to fund the transfer for a new proven striker. :5drunk:

dont know about you but i really hope we keep JDT... he may not be starting XI quality but he along with gudjohnson and zalayeta are the best non starting strikers there is... it wouldnt harm us to have him as 4th choice since he doesnt complain and hes a fighter and we all know he has quality in him... id rather have inzaghi out imagine the number of complaints hell make about not playing enough ... inzaghi to me should be a starter for a team like roma or lazio and definatly not 4th choice at milan ... and its for his own benefit aswell

glad to see not everyone thinks like most of the other members. JDT may be no MvB but he does deserve some respect after all.

See the reserved side of me is also telling me to be careful of what we wish for. I think JDT was a phenomenal striker that didnt fit into the coach's plan. That also means that it is no gurantee that Gilardino will fit any better or worse either. It will mean a lot more money cause we did get JDT at the best value. Free release that is. I hope I'm wrong, but Gila may be the next Uber Italian striker or just another Dario Hubner who best fits the smaller clubs.

Dario Hubner never got a chance with a big club. How can you say he was only for small clubs?

Cause he was. I dunno man. I thought Kluivert was a bomber and he didnt do us very well so I'm sorry if I have reservation about this one. I dont really mind either if people tell me "I told you so" if I'm wrong. Just show me the results first is all I'masking and somewhat hoping for.

This is some good transfer speculation....

I think those speculations should be saved though until the season has come to an end. This player could very well play an important role in the final, just like he played a vital role in the semifinal. It's fair to say we wouldn't have come this far in the CL if it hadn't been for his goal against PSV.

P.S. Apart from Sheva JDT is our most in-form striker as we speak.

For the reasons you stated Kui I disagreed with fans who wanted to buy Gilardino last season. But hes proved that hes not really a one-hit-wonder. While your concern may be valid, Gilardino might cost a lot but he has some advantages over JDT - first off hes Italian, plays in Serie A, and we know of his abilities. I think hes even prepared for CL. Im not saying hes the greatest thing in the world now, but he is promising although not guaranteed. Its a risk that Milan and any other club has to take to buy him. And I think its worth the risk

I cant believe there are so many of you who would be glad to see his depature. He is a good player who has not let milan down. Even though he does not get much game time he does not complain and when he gets a chance to play he usually performs for us despite not having much game time under his belt. He is good in the air and with both feet, and over his milan career has scored important goals for us such as the goal against PSV and last league season. You dont get many third or fourth choice strikers better than JDT. There is no argument. Just your opinions.

i totally agree with santo

Good point Santo, I would only let JDT go if he wanted to leave or if a better alternative (in terms of 4th striker) was available. He does deserve more respect than some give him though.
