View Full Version : Dhorasso on his way to PSG...!!

From SkySports:

Paris Saint German look set to make Vikash Dhorasoo their first signing of the summer.

Talks are already ongoing between the French international and PSG and a deal looks to be close to completion.

PSG are now set to open talks with Milan, who could very well let Dhorasoo leave on a free transfer.

Dhorasoo knew it would be tough for him to earn a regular starting spot at Giuseppe Meazza following his move from Lyon last summer - and so it has proved.

He has been limited to just ten starts and, with the arrivals of Johan Vogel and Mark Jankulovski already confirmed, the Rossoneri look ready to let him leave.

*****************************

It is sad to hear, I think Dhorasso are quite good - maybe not good enough to be in the starting eleven, but at least a good backup player..!!

Yeh, Dhorasoo should stay! I think he deserves a second chance.
He didn't play that much last season, but during the time he played, he proved to be a good technical player with some good passes! So, without injuries, he can be quite important for us next season.

D'horasoo is a fantastic bench player, who is loyal to the team. Those don't grow on trees my friends. I doubt that he will be leaving, but question the Vogel deal from that perspective.

I think he'll leave. He didn't play much and I doubt he'll have more chances next season, especially considering we've signed Vogel now. I know they're two differend kind of players but they would be used in the same position and one out of Dhorasoo or Ambro would have to leave and eventough I think Dhorasoo is a great player and very underrated, I'd rather see him go than Ambro

That I agree with Adnan, but I would have preferred if Vogel wasn't bought if it means one of Max and Vikash has to go :(

One of Milan's strenghts is squad consistancy. Don't fix what is not broken. :moan:

I don't think the Milan board decided to buy Vogel just like that (if one thing, they've proven to be very good at, it are transfer deals and always buying and selling the right players) so I guess it has already been decided earlier that Vikash would leave (maybe it was his decision).

I hope I'm wrong tough

I don't think Vogel will play in another team.

6/3/2005 12:24:00 PM
Spanish daily Marca are reporting that Deportivo La Coruna are on the verge of signing Milan duo Jon Dahl Tomasson and Vikash Dhorasoo.
Paulo Futre, Milan’s representative in Spain, and Depor president Caesar Augusto Lendoiro have been working on the deals for weeks now and it seems that a solution has now almost been found.

Deportivo are in dire need of squad reinforcements after a poor season in La Liga where they failed to qualify for Europe.

Both Tomasson and Dhorasoo failed to hold down regular places in the Milan first-team this season and will welcome the chance of regular football.

GALLIANI: 'Happy for Kaladze'
7/1/2005
MILAN - Adriano Galliani also spoke with Tuttosport: He said: ’I'm very happy that [Kakhaber] Kaladze has decided to renew the contract. It is good to keep strong and young players. Now we can give the green light to [Vikash] Dhorasoo and [Samuel] Dalla Bona's moves.'

that's from acmilan.com...

guess dhorasoo is leaving then :(

Very wired year for Dhorasoo. The first months he was far away from the first elleven and when he finally got the chance he always was one of the best, even in Milan bad games. Than he got injuried and afterwards again came back with some good games, but still not enough - and now we say goodbye to a player who in the first year in Serie A did it simply great.

But ok .. there can be found a substitute of course, but now let´s wait and see when Vieri will sign a contract with Milan.

agreed i dont know what milan are think off cos if u ask me we have too little creativity on the bench, how are vogel, ambrosini, brocchi etc.. going to turn a game?

we need impact players who can change the system up a bit.
i`d like to see someone like simao of benfica join us. hes fast, direct, can play either flank, got some tricks (not like the magician David Copperfield, but good all the same) and looks to get to the byline all the time to get a cross in.

we need to have some unpredictability in that squad otherwise the top opposition will be able to nulify our threat knowing we have no plan B.

Brocchi isn't a Milan player anymore ;)

Regarding the rest of your post, I must say I agree.
We need someone else than Serginho, able to come on and change the pace of the match, as and when required. I also believe Serginho doesn't have the same impact anymore, when coming on as a substitute. Agreed, people?

Although sceptical at first, I turned regarding Dhorasoo, and will be sad to see him leave Milan. He was a bright light on our midfield this season, the games I saw him play anyway.

If these are the actual figures, I am not sure what is Milan's incentive to sell the player even if he doesn't want to renew his contract with us - in one season his contribution could be well worth the sacrifice of 2 mil euros or so.

If u ask me, i don't mind Dhorasoo leaving. He's quite old and it's good 2 cash in on him now.I agree that we don't have any other creative players besides Serginho on our bench. He and Rui r past their prime.Hopefully we can sign some other creative players.Players like De Rossi,Maresca,Sneijder,Hleb,D'Alessandro and Motta can be possible 2 our rather defensive substitutes.

Ambrosini is a utility player. He's good in the air.Vogel can break down the attacks of the opposition(He did that against us).Serginho is fast and he's good at crosses.Although he only has at least 2 years left in him.Rui has 2 b given more playing time especially in games like the Italian Cup and certain games in Serie A.

What comes to mind MOST is that Galliani said Tomasson and Dhorasso will stay for next season, when the season finished. And now he's saying that he wants to sell him.

Another thing, Dhorasoo is a starter for the French National Team, i can't see why he'll be sold for only 1.5 or 2 million, we should take like at least 5 mil, which we can use with the Gila transfer..

and I also agree with you guys, we will lack creativity in midfield.. we will not have 1 substitute midfielder that will be able to turn a game around, other than Rui.. and no, Ambro doesn't change the game around, our possession always decreases when he comes on..

Channel4 interview with D'horasoo:

Dhorasoo Interview: Why I left Milan…
Friday 8 July, 2005
It may have taken a while, but Paris Saint-Germain finally got their man this week when stylish midfielder Vikash Dhorasoo brought an end to his brief Milan career by signing a two-year deal. Chris Burke paid a visit to the Parc to find out why their new No 10 decided to leave what the player describes as the "best club in the world".

It can't have been easy leaving Milan for PSG?
First of all, I have to say I'm very happy at PSG, but it was an extremely difficult choice to make and to begin with I really wasn't sure. For me, Milan are the best team in the world, but once I'd made my decision, there was no chance of me changing it.

What attracted you to PSG exactly?
In the end, there were plenty of reasons that made me want to come. We're talking about the club from the capital, after all, and I'll be playing at the Parc des Princes. I grew up not too far from here and when I was little we used to drive past the Parc all the time.

So it was a question of lifestyle?
Every time I've changed clubs in my career it's been a lifestyle choice. But I want to make a big contribution to the team on the pitch and enjoy a successful time here. It was a sporting choice as well. I've been lucky enough to combine the two.

When did you make your mind up?
A while back. At first, I never wanted to leave Milan. I was very happy there, but towards the end of May my agent told me PSG were interested. I spent a long time thinking it through and I discussed it with the people close to me. After that, I did everything I could to make the move happen.

Such as?
I spoke to the officials at Milan and they really didn't want me to go. At one point it looked as though the deal wouldn't go through and I would be staying there, which would hardly have been the end of the world! But they respected my reasons and the ending's a happy one. I was straight with them the whole time and so were they. It was all very amicable.

Last season was fairly disastrous for PSG. Did that not put you off a bit?
No, I think everything's going to go well. I don't know the ins and outs of what went on last year, but what I do know is that I'm looking to the future. I wouldn't have come here if I didn't think I would enjoy success.

Do you know what position you'll be playing in?
Yes, it was crucial for me to know that before I signed. We talked about it and I'll be playing in a central role, but fairly deep. I'll sit more or less in front of the defence, where I can link everything up.

There were rumours that Marseille made a late bid. Were you tempted by any other offers?
Never. I never thought of joining another club in France. It was only after PSG had started negotiations that other teams expressed their interest.

What have you made of PSG's recruitment strategy?
The squad here is full of quality and the team is starting to take shape in an exciting way. Our goal is to get back into the Champions' League as soon as possible.

Are you frustrated not to be playing in Europe this year?
Definitely. I've been playing in the Champions' League for quite a few years now, even if I didn't get in the team much at Milan last season. But I've grown used to it and even when I was at Bordeaux [2001-02] we were in the UEFA Cup. It's a fantastic experience to play in the Champions' League and it'll be annoying to miss out. Like I said though, our goal is to qualify for it again this year.

The thought of having to face Lyon must be strange?
It looked like it might happen last year in the Champions' League and I spoke to my old team-mates about it then. It didn't come about in the end, but it's going to be special to return to the Stade Gerland. That's certain to be a very unique match for me.

Did your decision to return to Ligue 1 have anything to do with the World Cup being just a year away?
Not at all. I came here to play for PSG, not the France team. And, anyway, I got into the national side when I was on the bench for Milan.

How would you compare Ligue 1 and Serie A?
I got asked that in Italy a lot, but I've never felt comfortable about making a comparison. I respect the French championship just like I respect the Italian championship. The main difference is probably that there's less of a gap in class between the teams at the top and bottom in Italy. At the end of last season it took a top-drawer performance from us to beat Fiorentina, and they barely escaped relegation. I think the gulf in quality is bigger in Ligue 1, but the best teams in France are very strong indeed.

Dhorasoo is currently involved in a huge argument with the PSG manager. The manager won't play him, won't even select him saying that Dhorasoo is injured. However, Dhorasoo has countered that he's fully fit and that the manager is lying about the injury in order to not pick him.

If this situation escalates further, i guess it's possible that he could buy out his contract becoming a player without a club, in which case we (if we wanted to) could bring him back here. He's a class player and would provide much more creativity to the midfield when we are resting Pirlo.

If there was a chance he could come here, even if it was on loan from January to the end of the season, it would be good for us. Alot has to happen for it to occur, might be worth keeping an eye on.

I dont know Jim...do u think he is mentally and physically ready for the Serie A? He left because he wasnt getting enough playing time, and he seems to have upset a succession of coaches...plus, while I think he is talented, I dont know, based on all the negativity surrounding him, that it would be a good idea...but then again..what do I know?

It will ultimately be Carlo´s choice I believe...but I do agree that a loan spell couldnt hurt..could it?

Jim_UK
29-09-2006, 10:44
There was never any negativity from him when he was with us, he loved the club and the club liked him in return. Re-reading the article at the top of this page shows how much he thought of us even when he didn't play much and it's a credit to him that we didn't want to let him go even though he had little opportunity to shine.

With Carlo (hopefully) finally realising that he can rotate the squad, he would surely get more playing time. We have 7 midfielders for 4 positions and still no real sub for Pirlo. He has experience, he can play Pirlo's role, he loves the club and only left for PSG because of his home town connections. I don't see a problem.

Again though, i shall state that this is just an idea, there's no truth in it, i'm just saying "What if".

I support Jim's view. He can be a good back up to Pirlo who frequently is out with injuries. He is 33 but has a lot of knowledge of the game and will be a great back up just as favalli.
