Abbati is a good keeper specially as a subtitute you cannot get any one better then him. So I see no point in selling him.

he wants to play in italy team, so he wants to get starter position to secure his postion in italy national team and that is imposible in Milan because we have Dida ... so ciao abbiati !!!

we will never forget about you !!!

Abbiati wants first team football, and he has realized that this will probably not happen in Milan as long as Dida is there. Dida has developed into being among the 3 best goalkeepers in the world.
Abbiati is a good keeper - so I wish him good luck. Guardalben would be a good 2nd choice keeper for us...

Palermo claim that Galliani has promised them Abbiati now that Palermo's president, Zamparini, is a Galliani's vice chairman in the Italian Football Federation (FIGC). Plus, I honestly don't see Pippo going to Genoa. He will remain with us, at least for the first half of this coming season.

Abbiati keen on Fiorentina
Saturday 18 June, 2005
Goalkeeper Christian Abbiati says he would have no objection to leaving Milan for Fiorentina this summer.

"My possible move to Florence depends on my current club," said the Italian international. "If it was up to me then I would be there already.

"Florence is a splendid city, they have great fans and an important project for the future already in place."

Abbiati has been with the Rossoneri since 1998, but is keen for an exit after spending the last three seasons as No 2 behind Nelson Dida.

"Milan want to sell me but they are now considering loan proposals too," continued the shot-stopper. "I want to prove my worth again after my struggles over the past few years."

The Viola need a new goalkeeper after the problems encountered by both Cristiano Lupatelli and Cristian Cejas this term.

But the Stadio Franchi outfit do face competition for a number of clubs as Abbiati has confirmed.

"I have a variety of offers which is very pleasing," he continued. "Apart from Fiorentina, there is a foreign side plus Genoa and Palermo.

"I hope that an agreement can be reached by the end of next week."

Abbiati is hoping for regular first team football in the hope of making the 2006 World Cup squad.Well, I do not see many reasons why should we do not let him go. The best replacement for Dida would be Curci ;)

AC Milan's Abbiati: I'd join Fiorentina tomorrow
tribalfootball.com - June 20, 2005

AC Milan goalkeeper Christian Abbiati wants to follow teammate Christian Brocchi and join Fiorentina this summer.
The experienced keeper has already turned down an offer from Palermo and admits: "My possible arrival in Florence depends on Milan. If it was up to me, I would already be there.

"Milan want to loan me out, but for now we're considering the proposals from those who have asked for me."

Honorable Fellows,

Abbiati is someone who is so loyal to Milan.
He has been waiting for three years, for claiming back his first team status,
but apparently he failed to show Ancelotti the quality required.
Now he wants to leave....
A sad news for me who once saw him helped Milan reclaim the Scudetto in 98/99,
and for Milanisti who know the true meaning of loyalty.
Abbiati has shown us the valor, the decission he made right now is for his own sake.
Let's give him more respect....
not a ciao-goodbye farewell, but a success hope for Abbiati..wherever he is.

Abbiati is too good to only be a 2nd choice keeper. He has had a great attitude in the last 3 seasons when he only was 2nd choice... Good luck to Abbiati - I will never forget your saves when we won the Scudetto in Perugia, and when you saved us into the Champions League final against Inter...

I always felt that Abbiati, even though made many fantastic saves was always prone to leaving goals, he wasn't that solid, it's true that the defence is solid now but as we have all seen if they do get penetrated Dida makes a fine save, Why? because Dida's level of concentration is much higher, Cesare Maldini picked Rossi over Abbiati. It's good he leaves and we get a better 2nd choice. Best of Luck Abbiati wherever you Go.

Yeah, he is the one who can be called a real milanista. I am very sorry to see him leaving, though I do not believ that this traansfer can happen so soon. I'd better set him on loan to Viola than to sell. He might be very useful when Dida will end his amazing career.

Forza Abbiati

Abbiati was today loaned out to Genoa, with an option to buy at the end of the season. This was announced on www.acmilan.com today.

Good luck, Abbiati!

Good luck to Abbiati at Genoa. Thank you for your contributions to Milan in the past :5ok:

I am a bit surprised at the low option clause prize for next summer, but it could be linked to Abbiati's high salary. :hmmm:
