Ballack for Seedord would be great for me (Starting lineup). Would Clarence accept riding the pine?

I would love to see Ballack in our midfield he really is the perfect replacement for Seedorf. If we don't spend a boatload of cash on Gilardino, Ballack would be a great investment.

One of the few midfielders out there who could add further quality to our midfield. He could be an alternative to Seedorf in midfield but also to Pirlo when we need a more combative playmaker and even Gattuso when we need a more creative but still physically strong midfield. If we get him, and unfortunately I doubt that, he would be a player who could cover every position in midfield very, very successfully - the sign of a truely complete player.
EDIT: One of the things that make me doubt the validity of this report is the amount Milan are reported to pay to Bayern - 35 mil euros. This is way too much money for any player on and out of the current football market except for Ronaldinho and Sheva. I honestly doubt that MIlan would be willing to pay more than 15 mil euros for Ballack for he may be a great player but is already 28, I think. One thing that may help us in these negotiations, however, is Kakha Kaladze - Bayern have always valued the Giorgian very, very highly and not once or twice have been linked with a move for him. Now that Kakha has declaired his wish to leave Milan, and now that his Chelsea transfer seems to be in the dust, this could very well be the ace up Milan's sleeve if they wish to get Ballack without breaking the bank.

we would have needed width if we played with wingers but we don't, at least our first choice formation is a 4-3-1-2 "diamond" and there are no wings there. We deploy wing play from midfield, and not just from the full-backs, more as a back-up plan in case things don't go smoothly for us. So, unless Carlo somehow decides to go for a 4-4-2 or a 4-3-3, players like Esposito, Serginho, Solari, Park will not find space in Milan, at least not as regulars. Players like Ballack, however, will be much more suitable for Milan with our current tactics - 4-3-1-2 - and even if we try out a form of 3-5-2 during the new season, because it in the latter case it would be Cafu and Janku, who would be playing in the wing-back position.

I am not sure where in my post you read that. Please be more attentive when you read posts. I am the last one here who would put Janku on the right back.
As for a 3-5-2 formation, if we try it out at all during the new season, it will be Janku who will play the LEFT wing-back, and Serginho would be the back up player - with this formation, on the flanks you need a player who can run A LOT and be good, not necessarily incredible, not just in defence but also in attack.

ok my apologies i should pay more attention soz yo
Ballack had a very good game today in the Confederations cup and was Germany's main player to getting plays started. If this does become reality, someone does need to tell him to stop diving though, it's a side of his game that he doesn't need.

Hehe, should I start a Ballack or Gila poll? :u56:

CAFU--GATTUSO-PIRLO-JANK--
------BALLACK---KAKA--------

That would be a hard team to beat. Im happy with either (Gila or Ballack)!
i am greedy, i would like both .... plus maybe Mancini and Puyol seeing as the first wants to leave Roma and the second doesn't want to renew his existing contract :D
i am kidding about getting all 4, just before someone replies with a witty comment.

I would also love to see Gila and Ballack join us this summer ... but who wouldn't, after all? :D Also agree on Ballack's "diving" skills - too skillful for his own good but I guess this is what might help him feel right at home in Italy
If we use the 3-5-2 more often, getting Mancini could be a smart move but Puyol would be not only expensive but ... bad business too, IMO. In Spain he passes for one of the best, if not the best, central defenders but in Italy he is more than likely to look average.

hmm I havent seen much games of Ballack, but everyone here seems to want that transfer to happen.. i think i am the only one against that move as I think he is very over-rated..and anyway, if this was supposed to be a secret meeting, how come its on the news?
zlatanov is right, i doubt this transfer will happen, mainly because of the price tag..35 million euros for ballack? I'd certainly use that money to buy a useful partner for Sheva such as Gila, Henry, Saviola, Chevanton, Tevez, Torres, Robinho.. Seedorf is one of Carlo's favourite players, I doubt that he will be risked, and I really doubt that Ballack will accept being a substitute.
The way all of you have reacted towards this rumour tempts me to wish that it is true. But unforunately, Milan arent a team that splash out that cash, and especially not as surprise moves. Ya'all can rule this one out for sure, I would have preferred Ljunberg.

o ya another thing i remembered is that, one of my friends is a Real fan, he has told me that Real have a 80million budget, JUST to get Ballack. He is their primary target. With that being the case, I strongly believe Ballack will not come to Milan.

Not because he is better, but IMO more useful to our 3-4-1-2 system if we used it.. he would be a good substitute..
Ballack might cause problems within the team, something this Milan side hasnt had recently. That is the only thing that can rip this team apart and send Milan deep into crisis. I just hope if Ballack comes (which IMO is 1% chance), he will accept to be a substiture which is another 10% chance, which, if you calculate means, it will be a 0.01 x 0.1= 0.001 chance (i think :P)
Just to make one think clear; Ballack would NEVER be a substitute, if he came to Milan.
(He would *probably* replace Seedorf in the starting line-up. And Milan will continue with the 4-3-1-2 formation.)
PS: I hope he does come to Milan! :D

u think Seedorf will gladly sit on the bench?
as far as im concerned, i will continue to ignore this rumour until i see 1 more report on this impossible transfer..
and IF this rumour is by any chance true, we must see more rumours this week about this transfer, because Germany got knocked out of the confederations cup yesterday, this means that Ballack is not busy any more, so he can concentrate on figuring out where will he be playing next year.
i hope to see tomorrow some rumours linking Milan with Ballack tomorrow..
Ballack is a fantastic player, but somehow I think he is more likely to end up at Real Madrid then at Milan. We also need a striker more than a midfielder and the suggested price hence seems high.
u think Seedorf will gladly sit on the bench?
Doubtful, but tbh, i really couldn't care less.
Ballack is so much better than Seedorf, and we need to play games with 11 men, not 10 (hello to the invisible Seedorf).
Oh yeah and one more thing...
If we buy a midfielder (for the starting 11), he would replace Seedorf, no doubt.
Would've thought that was clear enough for everyone...
Please don't sign him, we need him mmore than you do.

Ballack is a great midfielder and it would be great to have him at Milan. But he should stop diving so much! Remember the penalty he got against Chelsea in the Champions League last season and the penalty he got against Brazil in the Confederations Cup yesterday?
So Ballack, stop the diving and sign for Milan! :v103:
He is a stunning player, though I have doubts that we have enough money to acquire him. ;)

Of course we have, we spent £4 Mill on Park, £1.5 Mill on van Der Sar.
And Glazer has allowed Fergie £25 Mill for this summer so there's about £19.5 mill left to spend.
I usually speak about Milan in all MM threads, except one, which dedicated to MUFC. So word we means - we milanisti ;)
Styles.....remember you're on MILANMANIA......
And you're supporting the "fake" one.....

35 million euros for Ballack?? No thanks. It's not like we need him, and it's not like he's young either (nearly 29 I think). I'd prefer that Milan just gave Parma that sum for Gilardino if they want to spend it on 1 player........

u think Seedorf will gladly sit on the bench?
Believe it or not, every player hates sitting on the bench not just Seedorf. Bringing in Ballack would probably give us a better option for Seedorf's position and help Seedorf realize that he is not the world's greatest. Hopefully then he will start working harder and be a better team player.

It's not that we don't have the money. It's that it could be better spent elsewhere.
Is this year the last on Ballacks Bayern contract? If so we could continue the trend of getting champions for free. :pp20:
I still can't understand why some people seem to think players in our squad are untouchable ?? If another/better player is bought in, then someone will have to accept time on the bench no matter who they are. Sometimes it's unblinded loyalty to players that make a team plateau or go backwards, we have to be careful of that. To be quite frank at times our midfield has been average at best in some games. Buying a world class player whoever it is will hopefully fire them up and make them fight for their places.
ah id love this deal to go through... id like to see both balalck and gila come over and im ready to see us not spend big for another 3 years if we spend around 70 million on these 2 players. this deal may cause other players to see less playing time but if i remember correctly bayern have always wanted kaladze from us and kaladze wants first team football (which he can get at bayern with their only LB being rau - not that good obviously) and so we can include kk in the deal if there is one. this can allow janku to be more of a LB than a 50% LW and 50%LB
He's a great player and if it can be done practically, I'd like to see him at Milan...with Gila. :bday:

there has been no recent news on this.. afterall it was just a rumour.. but im curious, how did it start? didn't it mention that Galliani and Braida went to Munich to discuss this deal? is it possible to find out if Galliani actually went to Munich whether it was on business or vacation?
It can be a really good deal, but it will never happen.
We have to concentrate on gila and selling some players, ballack is welcome any day!!
