that's not much of a source. Let's wait until it appears, if it ever does, on a more reputable website.
Diavolo post: http://www.xtratime.org/forum/showthread.php?t=166084
Tomorrow maybe there are new news about that!
Diavolo may be right, but as Zlatanov pointed out let's wait for official confirmation. :r11:

Nothing is for sure here. But if it is the Gilardino is already a Milan man. I also guess that Inzaghi's fitness can be counted on for next year.

yaaa pippo if he is pretty healthy then i would give him 2 years but if it still naggin him its pitty but will see but if tomosson goes he has done great for milan
this is worrying considering Pippo's and Bobo's fitness..
please sign another striker, other than Gilardino, I dont care who.

Milan want 5 strikers for next year so if we sign Gilardino and JDT left then we have :Sheva, Pippo, Bobo, Gila and ..?...IMO I think Crespo will come back as his family are still in Italy and he said to Chealse fans that if he left then the problem will not be football....that's what I think.
maybe we get luca toni and gilardino. toni will be sold this sumer as they already have replacements for him and he wants more money. but that's just a wild guess from me.
Toni is too good to be fourth or fifth choice..
And he is way too similiar to Gila/Vieri.
I'd prefer someone who's very fast.. Like Saviola, but again, he's too good for the bench.
Well, JDT aint on the new team list on acmilan.com....there hasnt been anything said official in regards to his departure but im assuming his gone..i dont think they would have forgotten to have put him in....
if he is gone, thanks JDT..not a great year last year..but a great servant of the club...all the best at benfica or wherever it is that you are going.....

yaaa now lets get us someone big like Ballack or Daira that would be perfect fit
Yep , it looks like JDT is gone and pippo inzaghi is gonna take his place as the fourth striker. So the pecking order looks like becoming Sheva, Gila, Vieri, Pippo.
looking here: http://www.acmilan.com/InfoPage.aspx?id=12633 , JDT is not listed as a striker! that's a clear indication he is gone.

he was referring to Mahamadou Diara from Lyon - an excellent and very solid player, IMO.

Well, pardon my gloating, but I for one am happy to see the back of the Dane.
He is to be applauded for his efforts, his willingness to come off the bench, but I will never forgive him for missing that sitter in Istanbul...(yes, Sheva missed one as well, but Sheva has done soooo much more for Milan than JDT ever has)
Good luck in Portugal JDT, and I hope the form that deserted you in Milan returns for Benfica.(If that is really where you are destined)
Now, we have only to worry about Vieri regaining his form....

As part of today's first official day of training Adriano Galliani addressed the media and stated that Tomasson is on his way out most likely to Benfica (www.gazzetta.it). Even though Bobo was signed I thought Tomasson would stay on as Milan's growing mentality of keeping an ample supply of players at their disposal however, JDT probably wanted more playing time even if it wasn't with Milan and it was time to unload more than just the Brocchi's and Pancaro's.
I also think its unfair to classify him as 'long ago finished' and useless to us...he has become a clutch player in tense moments despite his slide this season.

first of i agree he has done well Coming in from the Bench never complained even when pippo was out he sit gave and u could have seen it when he scored how bad he wanted to score, thank u for ur time it was great to have u on board knowing he came for free at least we sold him for good sum hope that money will help out on bring Daira from Lyon really good player and has alot to give i have seen him and Essien play they really are good and he can run all over and figth as hell he would be good to add in our squad and the mid would be prefect all over
if its true then good luck JDT to your new adventure, i have enjoyed him being here, i will never forget his second goal against PSV, he will be missed!
To me its kind of similar to the idea of selling Rui...at least if we are selling I hope for someone younger in his place that can provide energy coming from the bench.
Going with 4 (presumably Sheva, Gila, Pippo and Vieri) is a mistake and in my opinion we definitely need a fifth
Im really glad that tomasson is leaving us. He is not milan class. And that means that milan-lab have decided that bobo and pippo are 100% healthy and we dont need 5th striker. And 6mil looks like a little low bit. Dont you think??
he was referring to Mahamadou Diara from Lyon - an excellent and very solid player, IMO.
Oh, heh, I know who Diarra is...
Those spelling errors (or whatever) can be a b!tch...
And I also agree with rezag, we do need a fifth striker (something I've said for atleast 2 years now :( )

good luck hommo oh sorry i mean tommo
im not really happy with his departure... i think milan fans have been really cruel to him, i would feel better if we get a player in the saviola mold, other names include esposito.. i dont want a big guy like toni, we already have 3 of them and sheva can play that part himself

I can't say I am glad to see JDT leave mostly because I am afraid that we will not go for another, fifth striker but have instead decided that 4 would be enough - assuming Gila is already a Milan player - and that's something I don't like at all. I think it would be a mistake to start the season with 4 strikers, 2 of which are 32 yo injury prone players.

most likely. although he wants to stay in italy.
Thanks to Jon Dahl for his contribution to Milan. He scored more than 10 goals/season on the average, all in all about 35 with limited playing time. He's been struggling from day one to gain any respect and has been "sold" approximately 50 times. It's impressive for any player to last three years at Milan, even more so during a period where the club won both lo scudetto and CL.
GoodBye Tommo, thanks for everything you have done.

Just what are you sh!tting about?!
Without JDT 12 goals, we would NOT be able to win our Nr. 17th. Without his goal against PSV in San Siro, Milan would NOT be able to play in Istanbul. Without his goals in Italian cup, Milan would NOT win our latest Italian cup after such a long time.
Please be gracious and grateful for those no-big-name players, whose contribution to the team may be less obivious than those from stars in the eyes of some of you but theirs should not be forgotten.
Good luck JDT with your new adventure. I will not forget all the goals and efforts you put in for Milan.
IMHO, JDT proves to be the better partner to Sheva than other strikers we have had. His mobility and movement adds something different to the similar poacher type PIPPO & CREPO, even Gila.

To confine Gila as a poacher borders on the absurd.

Totally agree with you.
Toni would sign for Fiorentina so maybe Monday will arrive good news...
To confine Gila as a poacher borders on the absurd.
Comparing their mobility (JDT, PIPPO, CRESPO, plus GILA), Gila's movement is more restrict to the penalty box and nearby while JDT can move wide and far from penalty area.
Most of Gila's goal are more from this poach style, this is just my opinion.

Thank you for all you did for us
Thank you Jon Dal Tomasson for your great contributions to Milan, particularely in the last scudetto season
It is sad to see him leave, he was loyal, had a high strike rate, especially for a 4th striker, but I guess its a fair sacrifice if we are to get Gila.

If he comes to Benfica i promise you that he will be very well treated :)
Sad to hear Jon leaving - he has been 110% loyal toward Milan since 2002, and has taken every single chance he has got when he played for us.
I would he preferred him to stay as 5th striker, since both Vieri and Inzaghi are rather injury prone.
Anyway, good luck Jon - thanks for everything!!!!
I would've preferred Tomasson to stay on as a fifth striker aswell, and really hope Milan will have 5 strikers, but I doubt that will happen :(
Shame, we need five strikers :(
the jury is still out on whether it is prudent to send JDT away. He loyalty and easy acceptance made him a great team member. Can you believe this guy was willing to stay, even with the prospect of being the fifth striker.
Anyway Bon Voyage JDT, the Rossoneri will surely miss your industry, and team first attitude.

i agree with mrki, i dont understand why most of u said he is loyal and never complained on the bench.. of course he never complained because he knows that he is not good enough for milan first team!! most of his goals for milan were either easy goals or lucky goals anyway.. with his high salary, his performance was far below what was expected of him.. and milan cant afford to have that parasite in the team, and most importantly, i am glad that milan agree with me!! goodbye tomassson!!!!!
.. with his high salary, his performance was far below what was expected of him..
His first two seasons he did more than anyone could've expected. His third year was troublesome, mainly due to the fact that he found himself compelled to play with an injury for the majority of the season because the Milan attack was hard hit. A gesture he must regret by now.
and milan cant afford to have that parasite in the team, and most importantly, i am glad that milan agree with me!! goodbye tomassson!!!!!

In this day and age where most footballers have siezeable egos, Tomasson proved that putting the collective first can be a refreshing concept.
Not many players who are automatic first choices for their national team can live with sitting on the bench. Anyway...
Btw. I can't say I'm particularly proud of the way Milan handles this affair. To make a statement that someone is close to agreeing terms with a club - before there has even been contact between the player and the club in question - isn't good behaviour. It is unusual since Milan is recognized as an organization who knows how to treat its employees.

To sell JDT for 3m? What the hell? What happened to us needing 5 strikers for next season?
JDT would have stayed as a 5th striker rather than go to play as a first team striker anywhere else. That is our biggest loss in this transfer market.
We seem to be losing Gila.
what are you basing that on.

Even worse is that AC MILAN official website has already taken JDT's name out of the team list, though the final official deal has NOT been announced! Simply disrespect of the player.
Well, Laudrup, if you ever remeber that the official website never bothered to say thank-you and good-luck to Deme after his long service to Milan, you should not feel too surprised.
Total unprofessional is an understatement here.

He has already loaned to Sampdoria. Given that Pippo still has his persistant knee problem and is back to Belgium for further treatment and check-up, it can not be said very wise to let go JDT now. If we have to buy another striker besides Gila, does we have money left for vice-Cafu? Whom we desperatelt need, IMHO.

regardless of what happens you have been simply too negative about this transfer. It is getting to be morbid and depressing.
Galliani has said I hope Gilardino is our 4th striker and I am optimistic. That is on the site as well. It is a matter of perspective...a few weeks ago you were on about how he was going to Juventus. And you kept saying that without any real basis. Then the player ruled out any other clubs (fact) and your tune changed.
An opinion is one thing and blithe optimism is unhealthy as well, but all signs look good so why the dim view?
It is not just Gila, ur post about Vieri smacks of the same tone. Sheesh cynicism and a level head may be pragmatic but in this case I would prefer forward thinking.

I'm glad you're optimistic about this deal going through. But the worry is that it hasnt. There have been posts here that guranteed that by as recent as yesterday, we would have signed him. What I have a problem with, isnt if he is coming or not, but how people are making these "gurantee" statements that by such and such a date we will have him. Only when that particular date comes, it is held off for another week, and then another "dont worry" he will sign next week... "trust me". So for those making statements where it relies on some sources credible or not and then dispute other info coming from the very same source.. such as Galliani's mouth, I would rather people admit that we honestly have no fvcking clue to what is really going to happen! It isnt being pessimistic, but more so cautious. There is just as much posiibility that he may not come. And all I'm saying is if such things happen, be ready for it.

I really don't agree with you.You should not that realistic.
First Fiori, 3 goal keepers are necessary for a team(especial like Milan).Keep Fiori for the third keeper is much safe for the team.If Dida and the Greek get injury, who saves the ball?Who knows the accident? :finger:
Costacurta, he has played for Milan for since Baresi period. He is one of the leader in Milan. As his contribution and experience,he deserves to stay and he has that world class. He should get respect. :5dito:
Super Pippo, A exellent striker and penalty box killer, he brought us wins again and again. No doubt that he is a really good player. He is fantastic impression in Rossoneri heart.Remerber how he contrbuted to the team in 2002/2003 season?? Shoot down Ajax,Bayern...... too many.He brought us the CL champion.Unluckily, he got injury for about 2 years so he couldn't show his ability. We should wish him and support him to recover NOT TO THROW HIM AWAY!!!!!!
Simic, Kaladze, Ambrosini, Rui Costa, all are world class players , may be Simic has some problem, but he is the backup of Cafu and he can play both side back and Center back before we find a new defender.Kaladze, absolute a good left back, he 100% deserves to play at Milan(even in the forst line up).He has high talent and ability.Ambrosini, No doubt, he is a world class Midfield, he deseves to be one of the first 11 players in any teams in the world, but he is willing to stay at Milan even don't have many chances to play in for the first 11 players. We should thank him.Rui Costa, a really good offense Midfield,he has very good technology, skills ,experience. and the best thing is, he is willing to sit on the bench. We are very hard to find a high class player like him as the KAKA' s backup.
Big and abilityed squard is necessary for a big team like Milan. If we don't have those backup, we will fail in both Seria A and Champion League. Therefore, please respect all the Milan players!!!

Xudong, I find your post to be so unrealistic, I wonder if all you ever play is Fifa 2005 or Winning Eleven...
So what is your suggestion...actually, forget it, I really dont want to know, its not your money paying these players, nor as far as I know, are you a official member of the club..so please...chill out already...you are beginning to sound like an Inter supporter...
Do you even play the sport? If you did, you would realise how easy it is to get injured, and for the long term to boot...that being the case, we, according to your logic, or lack thereof, we should have maybe Ballack, Ronaldhino, Ronaldo, Totti, and other stars of the game on our bench?
I think I am the stupid one here, for even bothering to reply to such nonsense..but let me say this, I would love to see your face when Pippo scores the winning goal in the UCL Semi Finals to take us through to the finals in Paris...from an assist from Rui Costa, in for Kaka, who had a slight ankle injury...
Just took a peek into my crystal ball to give you that little tit bit.

’It all depends on commissioner Bondi, he is the seller. I hope we will define everything in the next few days.'
’I’m almost optimist about Gilardino, when a player wants to join a team, his will is often satisfied. I hope the deal will be completed. I had talks with Parma top management and I don’t think they will be able to sell the club earlier than Monday. I accepted that everything would be postponed to that day, Parma asked me for this, you have to ask them why. Considering Gilardino’s sacrifice to renounce to over one million euros, Parma will actually sell the player for 25 millions.’
these are form other websites who have writers with a better handle on the language and also the original context of the quotes.
skysports:
"We agreed with Parma that next Monday will be the definitive day," he said.
"On that day, they will tell us yes or no, in or out. But I'm quite optimistic."
channel 4's take:
Parma’s Alberto Gilardino is also set to sign on Monday, as Vice-president Adriano Galliani has again hinted at.
"We are missing a fourth striker, we’ll have to wait and see who that will be," he smiled.

don't get me wrong anything can happen but all of the above seem like positive signs. so you saying : WE ARE LOSING GILA, has me puzzled.

And all I'm saying is if such things happen, be ready for it.
well kui the thing is that market posturing has been the habit of all the suit-and-tie men. All negotiators keep their cards close to their chest.
I agree with you though this has become a painful waiting game...but at the same time I would like it if people say things like "we are losing Gila" and up with solid statements. You must admit all the noise, so far, has been positive. Even this Bondi thing...we knew that last week...i.e. the Gila deal is done but Parma have to get it reviewed by the powers above.
Bondi is a govt official who is looking over Parmalat's bankruptcy. I mean if this is a bureaucratic formality then I remain pumped.
Ofcourse all papers brimming with trite will have us believe many things...but the way things are going we can only be optimistic but prepare for disappointment. But downright pessimism in these circumstances is simply bizarre.
With that said even if on Monday all publications report gila has signed and it not on the official site I will not celebrate :D :D :D

Well sorry about that.. but i totally agree with what Kui has replied to you.. it just worries me, when people here just tell me ´we signed him! it will be official on monday!´ and its now friday, and still we havent got him, and our management say it will be by next monday.. people here are saying ´dont worry, trust me´.. that is the big worry for me, there has been like 5 postponements already of his signature.. thats the huge worry
and the post about Vieri? I really really really would have preferred JDT. Vieri last season was terrible, its true that JDT was even worse, but still JDT has proven himself that he has already suited in with this team, and when he is in form, he certainly is useful and deadly. But with Vieri? Ive seen alot of games last year of Inter playing with alot of different formations to satisfy Vieri and their other players, and I havent seen one game that Vieri played, that he showed that he is as good as he used to be. Infact, I havent seen one good game for Vieri since the 02/03 season. That is what worries me, when Galliani decides to buy a 32-yr old *current* flop, without even asking Carlotti if we needed him! and now, they give away JDT..
hasan, its true that im not optimistic, but it is all because of the frustration that is adding up, from the Vieri case, JDT case, Dhorasoo case, and the Gila case. And again, sorry for being a pesimist (or however its spelt), because if i was optimistic about this deal going through, and it doesnt, it will cause disappointment.. so at least if i think it wont happen, and it doesnt happen, nothing lost and nothing gained..

no need to be sorry man...i see where you are coming from ..i am always cautious when getting excited about anything football-related. And frankly you have a point about the other stuff.
I think we should all just wait for the official news :D...in the meantime, we can hope and, as you correctly say, be prepared for disappointment.
Masalama :D
.. I think I am the stupid one here ..
Yes, you are. ;)
I am yet to see where he was joking..
Further confirmed.. :tong:
:beach: Relax guys, :w200: I was just messing with Dr. Milano here.. I vaguely recall that he is one of the youngest members around. (I hope he takes no offense. :smileani: ) But not you, :hah2: Warro, not you, buddy. :p231: Can't believe that I got you. That must be my greatest post EVER. :D

If you go here: http://www.acmilan.com/InfoPage.aspx?id=12633
you will notice that JDT is not announced as part of the 2005/06 squad which leaves me to only 2 conclusions:
1) Tomasson has been sold to Benifica
2) Gilardino's signing will be announced on Monday
Why else would his name be missing?
Big and abilityed squard is necessary for a big team like Milan. If we don't have those backup, we will fail in both Seria A and Champion League. Therefore, please respect all the Milan players!!![/QUOTE]
I totally agree with you. We need good backup players. And rui costa, simic, kaladze, serginh, ambro...sholud and will, and MUST stay in milan!
I just wanted tomasson out. And brocchi.

If Galiani said this is because he considers already that Tomasson is a Benfica player (or almost)

i must agree...all this dithering...jeez...so monday is the day then eh?
It should be.. unless Galliani is making another lie. :gun:
well, we should sit back and enjoy our weekend, and on Monday. :u125: we can :1ole:
tomason left us is a very good news for me, he is just like an annoying bug that never gone away.. thanks milan! some of u said u felt sorry for him and milan disrespected him...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! give me a break!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! he earned millions of dollars for doing almost nothing, he was lucky that milan kept him that long!!!!! well simic is not really milan class but he didnt have enough playing time and cafu has been just too good, so cant blame simic, besides his salary is not as high as that parasite tomasson! inzaghi's salary is high too but he has done important things for milan and he has been injured so cant blame pippo too!
it was a good deal milan sold tomason for 3m pounds! i dont care if he is an international striker(even zampagna or igor protti are alotttt better than him), we got him for nothing and 4m pounds is just too expensive for other clubs to buy tomason( it just shows u how overrated he is)!
i know it is not official that gilardino is ours, but i am optimistic he will be ours some time next week! if he stays at parma, thats fine, we will be looking for another striker! and i dont think we need the 5th striker, if it is needed, just give a youth player a chance, like george weah junior! :1old: :finger: :1whis:
the Danish website onside.dk has confirmed JDT yesterday evening signed a 4 year contract with Benfica.
So I guess it is official now. Good luck in Portugal Jon.!
Transfer to Benfica BLOCKED at this moment.
Milan have not options to sign Gilardino so Tomasson will remain at Milan.
Shevchenko, Tomasson, Vieri and Inzaghi.

Smoje, things are not that simple! There is a contract signed between Milan and Benfica, and Galliani said SEVERAL TIMES that if Gillardino doesn´t sign with Milan they will buy other one:
"Milan have no plans to wait until Monday. Our offer is known. If it is rejected it means we will look at other options," Galliani told Gazzetta dello Sport
"We are missing a fourth striker, we’ll have to wait and see who that will be"

The fact that JDT is ALREADY sold to Stuttgart should be a sign to what the outcome of the Gila affair will be. Do you really believe that Galliani will sell JDT before he has already secured his replacement? He might be a liar but he isn't stupid.

there is somethin fishy
he cant just give him away with out makin sure 100% Gila is milan it wouldbe a foolish move to do that and not be sure of the outcome
i think that gila is sure to come but even if he doesnt then galliani wud still have looked for a new striker, he never planned to keep jdt.

maybe, but the point is he would have never sold Tomasson BEFORE he had secured that other striker, be that Gila or someone else.
